| Mick Steele's programme notes today don't make for good reading. You can read all sorts between the lines. None of it good.....
I doubt that putting "Rent" in speech marks and trying to force the council's arm will help - they've already locked us out once! They're not going to buy the veiled threats.
I have the feeling reading it, the arbitration case was nowhere near the success the club wanted it to be, we are stuck behind the eight all and no escape.
Can't see us at The Shay next year and can see this being the start of the end for the club - how can the people of Halifax support a team no longer playing in their town.
It's time for some humble pie to be eaten and our situation to be sorted out. The fans deserve far better then the c*** they've had served up this year. Who would blame the fans if they walked?

| The council won't get rid of us because they are struggling to keep the shay going with two sports using it. Imagine if just FC used it. The shay would be a housing estate in 5 years. Perhaps that's their plan

Deluded. The atmosphere was one of the best in Rugby League and I loved going up there but it was a dump. You really think Fax would have upped sticks had it been in good shape?

At least the penny has dropped about Mr Abbott. Maybe the same will happen with the clubs remaining owners and you'll start questioning whats going on (thankfully some have).

| Can I return the conversation to its subject title? Over the last season my concerns have covered three areas
1. I was concerned that the club was in a money mess again. The recent accounts showed that as at the end of November 2015 we had £404,791 negative funds. This was only around £40k worse than the year before and so showed things hadn't deteriorated a lot. The debt is supported by loans from past and present directors. So at that date things appear to be ok…..but…..I understand that of this amount a large sum is owed to Tony Abbott, and in addition the cash flow since the last accounts have not been good. So I am concerned that we may now be in a considerable worse position than then. Rumours around the club support this.
2. According to the last Company return Reactiv Media Ltd are the largest shareholder of the club. when they went into liquidation Mr Steel told me that the shares were now owned by Mr Abbott, This means that he is the largest (although not the majority shareholder) but if you include Mr Sweeney, Mr Posner & Mrs Pearson, the majority of shares are owned by people not active in the club. Although I do not think they want anything but good for the club, it appears to show that the club is really being run by minority shareholders, which is far from usual.
3. On the field the season has been very poor. We were not relegated but we certainly failed to challenge to win anything, with a big lack of consistency and often effort. This would have had the positive effect on our cash flow of reducing players win bonuses but the drop in attendances would have been a bigger negative. I cant understand the ongoing support for the coach and I certainly don't think our recruitment process was much use.
All of this causes me to be negative for a while and ask the club to respond, But the silence is deafening. Who is really running the club, what is our true financial position (now and in the year ahead) and what is our recruitment process for next season? To add to that the club are now trying to sell me a season ticket when I don't know if we are going to play at the Shay, with both or one stand open or somewhere else?
I don’t want to tell me its secrets I simply want them to respect the fact I am long term fan and communicate with the fan base an not let Rumours be the only information we get.

| I think that is a fair post. The only thing I often wonder is how much do we as fans have a right to know what is going on at the club. We know it is our club but is it 'our' club? Obviously signings can not be released until the players have finished playing or at least officially announced. I do think the club has to make it clear to fans just what is happening next season in terms of where we are playing, not because I think we have a right to know, but because it will cost the club a lot of money if they do not tell people.

| Too many "steady Eddies" in this team. 1 or 2 is ok but our backs and forwards are full of them. No room for sentiment in this game. OK if you're happy with mid-table but not if you want to be competing for honours. Heaton and Tyrer whilst solid don't set the world alight, same for half our forwards. Infact there's only Fairbank, Johnston and Manning that get their noses through. No creativity in the hooking role and the whole Murrell saga where should he play rumbles on. Great leadership but is that all?

The whilst I agree with most of the above I would say that Tangata would be included in getting his nose through. I agree the whole Murrell issue needs to be sorted, he has dug us out of holes again this season but if we had played others in the halves earlier would we have faired better. Who knows, we'll never know but what I think we can say is that he will not have got quicker for the start of next season so something needs sorting.

| Murrell contributes as much as anyone to the side, yes he is missing some pace but if he had it he would still be in SL not at Fax.
At 13 the other week he was pretty quiet and looked better when he went back to 6 and so did the team.
Another thing is how many players at his age are still mainly injury free week in week out as opposed to some BIG signing who's in the treatment room more than on the pitch.
He never hides from anything and leads from the front but he can only lead the players around him and that's where the improvement is needed but everything is based on where we are as a club and who we can attract.Value for money and overall contribution Murrell ticks the box IMHO.

| Was a star signing and an excellent player when he first came here.Doesn't now have the same influence and has become a Rooneyesque type feature and think it would be better all round if he moved on.

| I still rate him. He never appears to gel with his scrum half, or his scrum half is not good enough.
Without Murrell, we'd have not even challenged for the Top 4

| How much are the council thinking about raising the rent by? Has that info been made public? I found the 2010 contract (from a FOI request) that said it was £39k, but could be reviewed annually.

Now there's a bloke who knows how to deal with success.
You get your dream job at £3m a year and then blow it by telling strangers how to get round your employer's rules.
What an idiot.
