Hudds can speak for himself but from my perspective we’ve talked ourself out and with nothing more to say you stop talking and agree to disagree and both withdraw.
I am not challenging the person, it’s not personal or even the stance on DR.
It’s the anti club aspect that I challenge, these guys and a small army of others are working their butts off with no chance of any return and just want the club to do as well as it can and constantly get kicked in the teeth for their trouble.

| Quote ="faxcar"In representation, correct me if I'm wrong you're blaming the coach and I'm not?
It's certainly not about splitting hairs, identifying the root of the problem is far more important than that.
From what I am seeing from Fax and my own experience of being coached, playing etc, discipline and tackling (or what we knew as the collision) often go hand in hand.
The collision is key and comes before any wrestling side of things.
Win the collision either in attack or defense and you almost certainly win the other things such as the wrestle and in context the penalty count.
When defending, if you are losing the collision (getting rolled down the middle like Fax often are) you start to lose your discipline.
If you release early they make big yards down the middle, retreating defense = penalties, points conceded.
If you don't release early to slow the play the ball down = penalties and points conceded.
It's a simple formula that every rugby player / coach at every level knows about, we all know this.
This is exactly what's happening with Fax, reading Keal's retirement interview and speaking about his condition coming to light against Sheffield he says this.
“I probably lied to myself a little bit that day; the pitch was heavy, they were rolling us down the middle and it was the first game."
This root cause of being rolled down the middle and penalties has nothing to do with the players you quoted who either weren't even playing, or if they were, none are playing down the middle, it's the pack's responsibility.
Can SG see this, yes.
In the pre York game interview he says.
"He thought the backs are doing okay but the forwards were pretty scratchy, they need to sort their games out".
If he's saying that in front of the camera what do you think he is saying off camera?
He tells us in the post match interview from the same game saying.
"He had laid down the challenge to our middle of how they needed to play".
Of course that would have involved coaching, not just saying it and off the field both coach and player will work together but when on the field it's down to the player.
Have a bad game on game day and the coach will do his job and pull you off, keep having bad game days and you will be dropped, again a simple formula that everyone understands.
Problem is as stated, we have no one to replace them in the pack, who's going to replace Dan and Kev for instance?
Ben, Elliot, Sion Jones all out injured and no one available on DR.
So they keep their place.
Does a player who's been told and knows he's having a second or even third chance need anymore incentive to be galvanized to take personnel or collective responsibility for his performance or actions and if he blamed the coach for "everything on the field" were down to failings at coaching level how do think they would be viewed by everyone else involved at the club including us.
Just imagine what we would say and think if Dan Fleming who lets be honest has clearly had a few poor games comes out and blames Simon Grix!!!
I just can't stop giving penalties away and it's his fault, I need to be galvanized.
Pure
100% proof.
Tommy Lee will add strength down the middle as SG stated. "He can whack em and will stiffen us up there."
Ben Kaye had his faults but defense down the middle was one of his strong points and we've missed his influence there.'"
Thanks for the essay. You don't have to point out the basics. Maybe you could use this for your GCSE English this year? Amusing that you must have sat there and gone back and C&P'd those quotes. Respect your passion and honesty but we won't be agreeing anytime soon.

Just replying to an essay of your own on the basics of discipline and tackling and looking at the content I wondered if you had ever played or been coached?
Accepting the challenge of the childish GCSE dig and amusement bring it on, I mean when you can't bring logic and facts to the discussion we can always fall back on to insults.
If I am going to sit here and type I may as well type from the source and what the club, coach and players are actually saying.
Do you not sit and type or do you have to stand on the chair to be able to reach the keyboard .
Respect your passion and honesty and concur, we won't be agreeing any time soon because SG will still be here any time soon.

For me it's not really the club that I don't feel attached to, although DR dosen't help, it's the game as a whole. SL and the Championship seem totally different entities. So far apart they're almost different sports. Club's under SL don't count but without the roots the trees will die, yet still the people running the game plough onwards in the chase of their idiotic dreams. We'll see where it all ends. For me this Sunday brings an U9's game followed by a new micropub. What's not to like?

Ive endured the fev Rhinos digs from fax fans over the last few years pete with a similar view on dr to yourself and the irony in this forum is more sadness now than amusement.
I agree with your sentiments. I fear for the future of the game.
DR is a part of the decline our clubs have willingly bought into.
I wouldn't have enjoyed a cracking weekend in Toronto was it not for DR. And right there my friend is the dilemma for fans of championship clubs

As I've said before it's turkeys voting for Christmas Robin. A real dilemma will occur if Fev did come top this season because you can't be having conflicts of interest i.e. Webster sat in Headingley with a Rhinos shirt on, although Bradford and the RFL seem to get on just fine together. It will all come to a head when the funding stops. I wonder what the league will look like then? As for Toronto, it's a place I've never had an urge to go to although those that have been loved it. Now a trip to NY on the other hand might just get me to open the piggy bank.

| It’s not DR that makes this forum what it is and what it has become or any other single topic for that matter, it’s us.
The fact is DR is constantly brought into every thread with the same negative and even critical comments against DR, the game in general and our own club.
This view does not represent the view of everyone.
(Even this week we have had the extremes of “use it to the full” to “scrap it all together.”)
What this negative view does do is insult the club and the intelligence of others on here that really do get it but are sick to death of hearing it over and over again and is a primary reason why people have left.

Even simpler Hudd-Shay.
Why don’t you just start a DR thread, state your case on thread and stop hijacking the rest.
As it is, because of you, everyone else would have to be blind and not read any topic to stop hearing about it.
Which many have done.

People have every right to insult the club when it's justified. It's a results business and right now, for a lot of supporters, performance does not align with expectations (historically, that we are play- off club in this division). Expect sub- 1000 vs. London.

Where in the post is there a link with insults, the club and performance?
It was concerning the Fax, Huddersfield partnership and that the same things had been said over and over again and how that had played a part in the dwindling numbers on this forum who were sick of hearing it.
Where is the justification in insulting the club when what is being said about that partnership is simply not true?

I understand why we use DR. Its a debilitating concept but I don't have any qualms for us to use it, as long as we don't become reliant on it. I completely agree that we aren't forced to take players and we are completely autonomous in that regard. Hahaha, I'm probably way too pessimistic for my own good. I can't understand some people though on this forum and elsewhere who have a blind faith of 'let's get behind them no matter what.' I'm sure some of you were there in 2003, as was I, when it was just ludicrous, week in week out getting obliterated. I could understand it then when we were so much worse in terms of players and as a club and all you could do as a supporter was to 'get behind em'. I can't accept that now. My main gripe and I understand that I should let go of it, but was hiring Grix in the first place. I can't get positive about it when we've gone from winning 2/3rds of our games over 4 seasons, to losing 2/3rds. I want him and the team to succeed, I've never once said I want the guy to fail but I can't accept that when variables like a.) Teams in our league haven't gotten significantly better than us, despite the league arguably getting more competitive b.) Our recruitment budget being that low that we can't put a winning team together c.) Inability to sort out the discipline issues.
Like you all probably have, me and my folks included, have put 100's of thousands into the club over the years. Just have many others who give up their time to volunteer and fundraise free of charge, but both are equally as valid to air their views. I take a bit of an offence that I am insulting the club, am being scornful or abusive. The fundamental aim is surely to put performances together and win more than we lose. We haven't done that for close to a year now. I am not privvy to the nuances and what's going on behind the scenes etc and perhaps there are things that are having an impact that I am not seeing. Off to watch some NRL!

I never said you were insulting the club, question them yes and we all have a moan out of disappointment and frustration especially when we lose.
I was saying, to state Huddersfield are our masters and that Fax as a club would have to take players who they tell us to take when they say so and because they either haven't played lately or are coming back from injury we must play them as if Fax are some subservient entity is simply not true and that was insulting to the intelligence and integrity of everyone involved with the club IMHO.
It's a sustained attack which has been going on for years and was said about the former partnerships with HKR, Salford and Cas and the previous BoD and is being said about those involved now.
I challenged it because I was sick of the years of miss representation of the club and in support of the club.
I just can't comprehend any of this line of reasoning to be honest, I've made my point and will follow my own advise and not comment on it over and over again.
On a broader basis many wondered why SG had been appointed including myself, some were okay with it some weren't and posted that.
But he's here, for the moment at least, so are the current BoD and you either get behind them or you don't as I said before it's not them and us with some different agenda it's just us.
These people want just as much as any of us for the club to be successful, running a rugby league club at any level but especially at ours is a mugs game, with no chance of any return so their not in it for gain, when we lose and hurt they lose and hurt.
Truth is all the other clubs and their supporters want exactly the same and regardless of all the time, effort any money spent in a league based sport every slot from 1 to 14 will be occupied and more will be disappointed than satisfied.
Things go in phases, we've had a few good years at Champ level and now in a building phase at the moment so hard to say were we are so early in the season.
On performances as before I don't blame him for what some of the players are doing on game day, when I dropped the ball, missed a tackle or got penalized it was my fault.
Currently and more to the point this is based on what I am seeing them do on game day and what we are hearing coming out of the club in how they are being prepared by SG and the coaching staff for game day.
1.) We know a lot more time has been spent in preseason getting these lads up to fitness as compared to previous "we'll be ready in April" comments so we know a problem area has been identified and worked on.
2.)We hear from several new signings who know what the game is all about, Broughton, Carlile have said positive things about how the club is set up.
Tom Gilmore even admitted that he was surprised by the standard and intensity of the training regime and that is wasn't far below what he had encountered at Super League level so we know that the volume and quality of the preparation is in place.
If the prep is right but the performance isn't then it must be something else, sometimes ability, sometimes mental such as confidence etc, in any event SG has to work with the players, find what it is and fix it, can he do it?
It's not about blame but more about responsibility which will eventually lead to accountability as with all coach's, Lee Radford at Hull being the latest.
Edit: Apologies for another essay but I can't answer an in depth subject in a a few lines.

Edit: Apologies for another essay but I can't answer an in depth subject in a a few lines.'"
