| Quote ="Forever Blue and white"Sorry but for me to come away from France without even a bonus point is not good enough especially against a team that recently lost to Keighley and struggled at home to London Skolars and was aparently poor yesterday just we was that bad we still lost to them. Word as it from the south of France that the players where out on friday night whether this is true or not I don't know but they better have not been in the state they was in last night and today what they was last season with a big game at Whitehaven on Wednesday.'"
you speak with forked tongue mon ami
true,TO13 WERE rubbish against Keighley and did underestimate the fight of the Skolars but Toulouse played really well yesterday in tricky conditions - they were better prepared, stronger and more determined to put on a good display in tricky conditions - Nicholls & Cook ran the show but no TO13 player had a bad game.Worth was again solid and should be an early favourite for Man of Steel.
Fax missed a few players but TO13 still have Bromley (one of the most consistent FBs in the division) plus Josh Lewis the scrum half who is a quality act,out with an ankle injury.Toulouse were not poor ok ? They played well and even Matt Calland post match had to concede that his team was outplayed by the better team on the day.
He was very disappointed with his team and could hardly contain his emotions post-match.
Holroyd though showed his class and was great to watch,Nash worked his socks off but the rest wre disappointing especially Danny Jones who couldn't get in the game and big Rob who hardly touched the ball.
Don't put the french down - they were worthy winners
regarding reports of your lads going on the town the previous night ? well, according to a club official who will remain nameless, the place they stayed was in the middle of nowhere exactly in order to 'keep the lads from temptation' as he put it - don't look for excuses !
Fax will do well this season - they just had an off day in every department or,should I say, they were outplayed in every department - Holroyd was class tho'.
I honestly believe Fax/Calland underestimated the opposition just as TO13 did against Keighley.
I estimate about thirty Fax fans turned up
Good luck for the rest of the season

Every team will be staying there this year not just Fax.
I also heard some of the lads were out... But only to watch the SL game which there is nothing wrong with!

| People are just looking at this result but for me its the performance that is most concern. We got beat in every area and Toulouse wanted more according to a guy who went. The same story in the 2 games against Batley and the weakness with the Props highlighted. The result sometimes goes your way sometimes not. But the Performances so far have not been good enough for me. Its the Performances we also need to look at not just the results. Fax really need to wake up and realize we are THE team to beat and as such we MUST raise our game and enthusiasm (Sp?) to atleast match that of the rest. There is no easy games in this league and we have no right to win or perform well against anybody.

I was just going on what I was told as I could not make it this year and to be honest I do not know much about TO13 however I was not happy as soon as I saw the fax lineup and I knew from that point we would struggle. My brother Said the coach, players, directors and fans of TO13 where a fantastic credit to the club and a credit to Rugby league and gave everyone from Halifax a very warm welcome its just a shame not many of us could make it this year as I really enjoyed my 2 previous visits however I look forward to visiting your beautiful city and great club again in the future (maybe in the next round of the Northern rail cup if we get the result we need on Wednesday). So well done Toulouse sorry if I showed your team some disrespect and I look forward to seeing you all again soon . Its a pleasure to have you in our league.

| Nice to see so much confidence in the club, the coach and the playing staff again at the start of the season. Maybe it's a good thing - all this "slit your wrists stuff". Maybe that's what spurred The Champions on last season.

Calland out?
Toulouse were the only team to beat Fev at Post Office Road last year, they are capable of pulling off big wins, yesterday was one of them. Poor performances and losses are bound to happen, I'd rather get them out of the way early so we hit our straps later on in the season. How many times have Holroyd and Jones played together, or Jones and Black for that matter? Let the team gel before getting on their back for Christ sake...

Trust me I am not going down the Calland out road ever again I was just confused by the team selection. What can I say I hate losing they is no need for you to get on your high horse about it.

| Now is not the time to be hitting the straps - that is August/September/October. Look at Leigh last year!!!
Lets get the poor performances out of the way now - get into the top 4 and take it from there
This division is looking more competitive than ever this season.
I have said all along though that our biggest loss pre season was Maloney, he hasn't been replaced for me.
Jones and Black will gel - give them time. Also missing 3 key strike players in Goddard, Ratu and Patto.
Keep the faith!!!

As were many others who ran out of patience early doors.
Halifax RLFC isn't for the faint hearted that's for sure. One thing I will change in my own ramblings this year is not to misjudge people's intentions. I made that mistake last year with Chris Smith on here. What I know now about Chris is that he is a real fan through and through - you only have to check out his campaigning for the U23 sqaudbuilder fund to see that. People are passionate about this club and don't take well to losing or starting a season badly. Amen to that!
Up the Fax!!!

We are all true fax fans whatever our opinions are. I am organising the sponsored walk to Dewsbury in aid of the Fax fundbuilder and I am very passionate about it and I am desperate to raise as much money as possible.

TO13 are an up and down side and you never know what you're going to get from them ! the coach isn't that well liked or respected at the club and the players themselves pulled themselves together with meetings between themselves with them deciding on how they play - the coaching input is minimal at the moment.maybe that's harsh on a man who is a french RL legend.
Halifax will do well and this jolt will be good for them - they will be up at the top of the league soon enough,TO13 was a minor hiccup.I'm sure you'll get more than enough revenge at the return game.....or maybe in the cup ?
Sorry about the bad weather to those who attended - it was more like Tranmere than Toulouse weather !

The weather was expected to be fickle at this time of the year I remember when we played limoux in the challenge cup in February 2004 and we stayed in carcassonne it was actually snowing. We was blessed with going in the height of summer the last 2 seasons I guess it was our turn to go early season this year.

| MC obviously hasnt decided what his best team is yet and so is still experimenting but for me we cant afford the luxury of having three half backs in the team so he needs to go with his best two which are Black and Holly. Same goes for the forwards, some players just cant cut it and others are having to carry them so if someone isnt performing it should see them in the 23`s or not playing at all until they see an improvement in form.
Going to be a very tough game up Haven if we go with the same pack.

Agreed, hopefully the experimenting can stop soon though and we can start to have a team that has a bit of consistency about it and thus you would expect for better more consistent team performances! It's always disappointing getting off to a poor start but better to have these problems to iron out now at the early stages of the season rather than towards the end though. We always improve as the season goes on, as the weather and grounds get better so despite being obviously disappointed with the result, I'll remain positive about the rest of the season!
