Top 2 aspirations, i can't get my head around that one ! Second place at best & where to go from there on current crowds ?

| I fully expect a slash in next years playing budget. Last year (with crowds of 1,800) TA pumped an extra £100k into the club. We're down to 1,200 now. How much will needed to be pumped in just to maintain finances? Obviously a lot also depends on sponsorship and RFL payouts but I can only see a squeeze on finances coming the club's way.

With the two that come down and the two that finish top in the Championship this year getting significantly more as well, the other clubs outside these four will be hard pressed to compete with them financially.
One thing is though the four clubs mentioned above can only have so many players who will benefit from the extra cash in the wage packet.
The rest of the clubs and players will have to settle for what remains and there should still be some good players not taken by the four big spenders.
All the clubs in the Championship when they go into the eight will likewise be disadvantaged financially as the SL clubs involved will have more than any of them.
This is central funding of course so if anyone has a financial backer who is prepared to spend up to the full amount of the cap then the gap could be closed on the SL clubs if they can't afford to spend to the cap limit.
The full amount of money available for all clubs will be from central funding and from the clubs own injection up to the cap.
That's how I see it anyway, it will be interesting to see how the big spending Championship clubs match up against the SL teams in the eight to see if money does really talk either way.

| Could anyone clarify this for me as I'm confused to say the least?
Two clubs will be coming down from SL for next season. Will any be promoted from the Championship? I guess not, but the top two will get enhanced funding next season.
With the two SL clubs coming down, how many teams will be in the Championship next season whatever it is called? How many clubs are being relegated to the third tier at the end of the current campaign?
Sorry if I haven't been paying attention. I did look on the RFL website, but I cannot find the answers there.

| Top 2 in Championship get around half a million each, 2 relegated SL clubs get parachute payments even higher than that which pretty much means we're stuffed next year and, I hate to say it but, our BOD no longer seem bothered.

| Thank you Fax Machine 1 for your helpful response. I hadn't been aware that there will be no promotion from Championship 1. It will certainly be a tough competition for us next season.

Negotiated the return of Tommy Saxton (allegedly)
Signed Peter Fox.
Signed Danny Yates.
Trials for Aaron Bath.
Recalled young Fairbanks.
Refused overtures from a club for one of our better players, (allegedly)
Spending a great deal of their time at the Shay midweek.
Walking to Keighley to raise funds.
Hosting quiz nights to raise funds.
Still putting money in.

| Sorry to disappoint everyone but I have to agree with HJ on this one to a certain extent. I've been a critic of the BOD when it comes to not communicating with its supporters and (IMO) the rent issue was handled appallingly, an absolute PR disaster, however the latest signings are further proof that they have always backed their man.
Whether or not KH is the right man for the job, has the judgement to bring in the right player, get the maximum out of that player and then knows when to move a player on, is a totally different matter.
On a different note I'd love to see Saxton play at centre and get young Cowling back with Fox on his shoulder. I know that these players have what it takes to succeed in this league and that's is what's so frustrating.

I stand corrected. Was that a later change as I could have sworn that it was originally 4 to go down?

OK. I appreciate all that and they are good signs but why are they keeping such a low profile at present?
Particularly TA who is not usually one to shy away from the public eye. I appreciate he has personal problems at present but he is still doing the Premier Sports Rugby AM thing so where does he currently stand with Fax?
Look, I don't usually knock the BOD as they do what they do for no financial rewards, just love of the club, and without them there would be no club. It's just that when they remain silent for as long as they have it promotes rumours which are very unsettling and steadily reducing attendances.
....and please note, I said "no longer SEEM bothered" not "ARE no longer bothered". That is the perception one gets from the deathly silence.

I presume your referring to kit men and not the number of supporters we have under the age of 30. If you are referring to kit men, what is the ratio between kit men and players. Can a couple of them be seconded to help Hilda out maybe?, she did sound like she was under the pump when HJ paid her a visit the other day. It would also free up some space in the dugout on a match day.

I suppose we should be grateful that the rule doesn't say "The number of clubs to be relegated will be decided at the end of the season."
After all, in SL, they are delaying the decision on Bradford's points for as long as possible so the likes of Wakefield and Salford don't know whether they're safe or fighting relegation.
Only in RL, the Greatest Game on earth run by total incompetents.

I think they are hand washing the kit, if thats the case they may need to strengthen the team. I've contacted Oakland Raiders to see if they would like to come over and see our Kit Management operation, Its not easy ya know, sometimes they play once a week. If anyone knows any good manufacturers of supersized dugouts, it could be useful to the Club, some of our lads are having a battle on to see the game because we have kit men on stand by for 80 mins in front of them, and not enough seats to go round
