As previously stated on here the prop we have signed is Matt Haggerty from Salford.Had a brief look at his past.Was labelled the new Chris Hill when Saints signed him from Dewsbury but within a year he'd left and ended up been loaned out to NW Crusaders-a real nosedive career and must be a big gamble IMO.

I must admi Mr Hall, I think Matt is a decent signing for you , he was interestin St Helens at one time, and he is either a Leigh lad or he lives in Leigh.I organizational a Testimonial Boxing Night, for Andy Gregory and LISA a couple of years ago,and had a good chat with him about Boxing , he declined , but believe me he's a big lad.

If there's ever an interview that says don't sign this player then this is it.

Is he any better than what we have. Looks to be coming to end of his career. Better options out there in my view. If we are targeting a player average at best shows our lack of ambition for next season.

It's not about being ambitious its about being cost affective and running a team on what you can afford. look at Bradford and Sheffield

Leave him at Keighley, he seems happy there and it fits for him, I'd rather sign a young player who wants to impress.

If we have signed Craven, (some say we have some say he has signed for London) and Samutt and we are keeping Murrell, Gaz Moore, Johnston surely Craven will be coming in as as a full back unless we are going to play with 6 half backs.
Salty also is better at fullback than on the wing.
It doesn't add up to be looking at the player in question with all the other good points that have been made against doing so.
Unless Craven is London bound, Miles going and maybe Johnno as well but even then surely we can do better.

Reserves going, and mbi sponsorship deal gone tits up apparently, so club cutting cloth accordingly. Reserves worth trialling but needs a proper comp to get full value from.

Sponsorships come and go (still a shame) but if its true about the reserves then that's very bad news. just the last few seasons show that having them has produced lads who have now made the step up. Having a poor reserve grade system is the fault of the governing body (again). Why can they see this the only way we will develop a large pool of players who, with mixed abilities, can play across all the pro/semi-pro leagues, and Red Hall wonder why we are behind the Aussies and NZ.

Absolutely agree with you. The RFL should make it mandatory for all clubs to have a reserve team and they should fund part of it with the money they are taking from Sky. To have a strong structure you need good foundations!
