A win would instill confidence and give us the momentum to really scrap for second place.
Losing would see us fall off the pace and put real pressure on us to have to beat fev/sheff etc
to maybe only achieve 3/4th place.As the Sheffield reporter said a night to show intent.

Doesnt as much define this season but the many to come. Lose tonight and we cant finish in the toop two which means next season we will have lower salary cap and less RFL pay outs meaning we will have a very slim chance of making it the "middle 8" and therefore Super Dooper League! We will become one of the best also rans maing up the numbers!

LOL - from that comment I take it you didn't go to the Shay for the game earlier in the season? Tbh, I couldn't keep up with what was going on in the melee, but Manning got his just desserts with a red card, and the headhunting/cheap shots looked to be coming in equal quantity from both sides.

We came back when you predictably tired (albeit we didn't get out of our half for the first 20 mins of the 2nd half), but the real sucker punch was that horrible bounce over Ryan's head.

The officials seemed to miss a fair bit from both sides, with some very strange decisions.

The hit on Sam? can't comment until I see it again, actually we thought Leigh should have been done for crossing and that Sam was unfortunate not to get the ball.

Because no professional rugby league player, including Dane Manning, would set foot on the pitch with the deliberate intention of fracturing an opponents skull.

I'm sure he wanted a big hit on him (bearing in mind Sam had been dishing it out earlier), but to say he was going round with the intent of fracturing someone's skull is... inane.

As I've said elsewhere, I hope it's not as serious as being reported and he makes a speedy recovery.

I don't believe for a minute he actually intended to cause the injury he did, but he did. He intended to hit him though and in doing so he must know there is a chance of an injury and in doing it the way he did there was no opportunity or possibility of Barlow defending himself.

Cool. That's all I was trying to say (he wouldn't have intended causing a serious injury). Dane will get the punishment he deserves when it's reviewed.

Agree. As for the rest of the match, it was a good game, hard and aggressive at times, both ways too but nothing that bad. Shame it seems that one incident is overshadowing everything else
