It may be but I'd bet that because Widnes are confirmed being in 2012 SL they'll think it's expanding rather than a team dropping out. Most media have no interest or idea about Rugby League as we have often seen over the years.

15 teams wouldn't sit very well with the 'Magic' Weekend. Perhaps they could just give Quins a 'bye' that weekend, complete with 2 pts.

There will be 14 teams in SL next year, Widnes and us will be playing there as well. Cas and Wakey to drop out, one of them may be saved though if the Crusaders go under before then.

Lets assume for one moment that what you say will happen. It makes a total mockery of our sport once again if a club such as Castleford were to drop down when you consider their current lofty position and in all likelihood a brand new stadium in the very near future.

Their league position wont be in their bid document, neither will the stadium. They are no where near with their stadium. Unlike Salford and Saints who are actually building at the moment. They only have planning permission and no funds to build it until they get planning persmission for a supermarket on their old ground AND then sell the ground.

Didnt know Salford were actually building theirs! From a personal point of view i hope Crusaders go down and we go up. I want them to succeed long term as i do with all clubs but the way the whole scenario involving them since their creation has been handled its just embarrassing for the game. Let them be successful in their own right and not at the expense of genuine hard working heartlands clubs.

I am sorry to say that I agree. Widnes up Wakefield down as been set in stone for some time now the RFL are just wasting another 4 months of our time.

A mate of mine was in a gym recently with a few wakey players... They were disscussing what will happen in July. Apparently the rfl are going to be expanding the sl to 16 teams with no drop due to fax and widnes bids being so strong. Not saying this is concrete fact but it does sound quite promising!

Exactly! I'm not going to get too exited but all the signs point in that direction... Especially with Probiz due to take the sponsorship deal, they are going to want all teams they are involved with getting as much publicity as possible.

If they expand everyones a winner... Aren't they? I can't see how anybody could loose out by expanding the sl, it's a win win and I think the rfl will see it that way too. Fingers crossed eh?

Who knows what the rfl are thinking but what does surprise me is that Wakefield have just signed Gareth Moore and another player and given them deals until the end of next season. Perhaps I'm reading too much into it but I would have thought that they would have given them 1yr deals

the ones they signed have come from the championship, so building for next season already.

I dont trust anybody running our game. They move the goalposts and do things to suit them not for the good of the game. We wont be in SL anytime soon and I have got used to that. We dont fit the wet dreams of Lewis and wood and the SL clubs especially Bradford & Huddersfield see fax as a big problem if we got voted in. Its a shame the RFL treat the championship clubs like crap as the likes of Batley, Fax, Leigh, Keighley etc dont deserve it.

Leigh Centurions on the other hand were obviously emitted from the Franchise process but with such a fanatastic stadium, award winning community department. fantastic youth structure, olympic size swimming pool, modern equipment in their state of the art gym, huge fanbase and great support from players currently playing in Super League we found it hard to ignore their situation.

We feel very positive that Halifax and Barrow will step up to the mark next time round but for now we are happy with our decision to remove Wakefield Widacts to the championship.
