The East Stand design was initially so big to satisfy the requirements of Super League - we all know there wasnt such a requirement for the Football League. It is fair to say that CMBC would not have completed the East Stand had it not been a shared stadium but that doesnt absolve HRLFC from the historical issues. The initial funding to get the stadium up to Football League and Super League standard came from the Football Stadium Improvement Fund and was not dependent on Fax being at the Shay.
The 2nd part once again shows a complete lack of understanding. The majority of the debts which led to the demise of HTAFC were related to the East Stand development. In fact, the creditor who led the revolt and refused to accept the Administrators proposal were the steel erectors. Fax put little more than sod all into the stadium development whilst the football club struggled with the debt (partly due to the ridiculous way the development was managed by all sides).

| If the initial funding was a grant then why did the rest of the debt fall on Town's shoulders and force their demise when it was mean't to have been of mutual benefit ?

Was it not? The way some Town fans go on you would think it must be still owned by them. The grounds shortest serving tenants do seem to have very short memories though, I mean its like before 2008 never existed and we should just forget about the number of times in the past they screwed over businesses and the council(In before they tell us it was nasty Fax's fault).

| Full list of Town's creditors just because Bubba likes "Facts":-
[urlhttp://www.halifaxcourier.co.uk/sport/football/fc-halifax-town/halifax-town-creditors-full-list-of-who-is-owed-money-by-the-club-and-how-much-1-1910509[/url
Worth noting that the rent that town screwed the council out of is not even included on this list when it is common knowledge that Town were thousands of pounds in debt to the council.

| Bubba regularly mentions Fax history issues and accountability yet either no mention or it's everybody else at fault concerning Towns history issues and their accountability.
He comes on as the fountain of knowledge arrogantly correcting people and the great voice of reason.
Yet when a club / tenant has an issue with the landlord over rent he produces a post with dozens of lines on office sizes, useage, etc etc etc.
Is that the action of a normal rational thinking person, who else would do that.
Who would care a jot if Town want to speak to the council over the same issue?
My advise is go and see a physiatrist but please make sure he has no connections with Fax otherwise he would be blaimed for you having the condition in the first place.

| Let's also not forget the surface area of knee being placed on the pitch nor the more regular visits onto the field that the football team Physio makes. Although these visits are offset by the rolling of the pitch that the wendies do at the slightest thought of contact from the opposition....

Cheeky git how dare you call Thrum Hall a dump did you even go? Thrum Hall was an old stadium yes but was brought up to the over zealous Calderdale Council safety standards by HRLFC with a reduced capacity you may remember or do you???

Come on Town do play far more games than Fax end of.
As for the gym funny you should mention equipment because it was Fax through John Pendlebury who built the gym and kitted it out and now you are saying they should shift it all out???
You also forget it was Fax legend John Burnett who started the 'Raise the roof' campaign to get a roof on the South Stand funded mostly by Fax fans and the South Stand Lounge was built from the money given by the Taverners Club from Thrum Hall yet no mention of those eh???

So IF the Shay was never owned by HTAFC firstly who owned it before the speedway moved in and before CMBC took it over in the eighties???
Oh and if Town never owned it how can Town fans call the rugby club squatters as according to you they don't own the stadium and never did???

| Historical ownership of the Shay seems to be shrouded in a little bit of mystery (the Wiki makes interesting reading, but is unproven in it's facts), but it's council owned now, and sadly they don't seem to have the funding/will/desire to keep it in pristine condition. Remedial work will cost far more than ongoing maintenance, but that seems to be the way of the world now.
A bit of a weird debate here, with a lot of "selective" arguments and points being made.
I do follow FC Halifax Town's results and genuinely wish them well, but do find it strange that their supporters call HRLFC the "squatters" at the Shay. FCHT came into being in 2008, at which point HRLFC had been in residence for 10 years at the ground.
HTAFC ceased to exist in 2008, and although there's a strong geographical link to FCHT, the fact of the matter is that the latter has only been in existence for 8 years.
These spats between supporters apart, the respective boards need to bury their ego's and get their heads together for the better future of both clubs.

| I agree with Gav on A few things regarding The Shay and Town, the challenges and the opportunities, and the rights and wrongs of Fax's stance, but having said that he is not impartial or unbiased, his leaning is definitely more towards The Shaymens plight, and there is some scarring from Geoffs involvement in Prior attempts at stadium management ventures.
The arguments about who uses which offices, portacabins, players on the pitch, training sessions to me is nothing short of pathetic, there should be a flat rate or simplified pricing/costing for using The Shay facilities, whether you book it for a Wedding reception, end of season do or semi professional sport, never mind pieces of the East Stand or offices in the corner, or shops, maybe the council should shoulder some responsibility for not making the package clearer or more defined. From the outside, the very fact that fax questioned it, leaves me thinking its been like buying rug from a Tunisian. Maybe the cost breakdown is on paper, and follows some logic.
It still feels like Fax are the unwanted tennant down there, and i get incredibly bored talking to Town fans who don't care for RL, because i care for both. God i miss Speedway, life was simpler then, and we were a bloody good side, kick em both out and get a banked track installed and have done with this shenanigans at least we would all have a chance of seeing world class sportsmen and we'd get some global exposure.
