So why hasn't anyone dobbed in the perpetrators yet ?

The folks I go to games with or who I know, would have done the right thing by now, it's been a whole week.

Says a lot about people from Fev, they know something, but wont tell, if they were Decent people they'd have picked up the phone and spoke to the police or crimestoppers.

What a prat you are. Fev fans have spoken to the police, I did the day after the incident and I know others have.What do you want the police to do?publish the names and addresses of those who have? The police have to be given the time to do their job and piece together the evidence to make sure that they can prosecute the thug so stop your bitching because it isn't helping anyone.
His close mates might be protecting him by keeping quiet and if they are shame on them but once again to generalise and accuse all of us of not being decent is pathetic.

Yeah fair point, apologise for that, though there are still people protecting those responsible. that's who my comments were aimed at.

Featherstone as a club are doing as much as they can from what I can see, went on the website the other day and the "splash page" is now an appeal for information, fair play there,

Irrespective of who they support anyone who has information and hasn't come forward should be ashamed of themselves.

Heres hoping those responsible are caught and Dave makes a full recovery.

Apologies for calling you a prat but at the moment i am very angry with the whole incident.
I know our club are desperate to find the person responsible, as am I.
The other day I was at the club and could see the hard work they were putting into non rugby events, schools visiting, coffee morning for charity etc, stuff that is happening on a daily basis yet all this hard work to help the community and build a reputation as a decent club gets tarnished by a few individuals who are selfish, arrogant and don't deserve to follow our club.
I saw so many unfamiliar faces at the match, even on the coach I travelled on that trying to identify the culprits responsible isn't going to be easy.Appealing to his mates probably won't do any good because if they are anything like him then not only will they protect him but are probably getting on with their lives oblivious to what has happened to Dave,I just wish I could be there when the police break down his door to arrest him.
It might take some time but I hope the two sets of fans can build bridges and not let the scum who caused this incident cause a rift between the clubs because we are all part of the rugby league family and should be standing shoulder to shoulder not fighting amongst each other.

Marillion man is a good guy pal. His comment might well be borne out of frustration as there was much antagonism directed at Halifax supporters following last weeks game and its not the fault of the genuine fans of either side, and most likely down to the few idiots that both club have. Hopefully the fan that was attacked will make a full recovery and the perpetrators brought to justice.

It is now 1 week since this incident and I have been so sickened by what happened and some of the stuff I have read.

I have been following the news in the last week, hoping to read of an improvement in Dave's condition and hoping to see that the Police are moving forwards with their investigations. Sadly I have not seen what I hoped for on either of these points.

Dave, my love goes out to you and your family and I do wish you all the best for a full recovery. I hope that next season you will be able to find the strength to watch your team play and get back on the road to living the life that you love.

Can i please reasure you that Featherstone fans have been talking to the police, the problem is the person /persons responsible for this cowardly attack may be people who just came out for the day to watch the game as a one off, so will not even be members of the Rugby forums so will not even be aware of these discussions taking place. I am totally disgusted and appaulled of this loutish behaviour, there's no place in our game for them..

Anyone know how Dave is doing and if his condition has improved?

Neil Arber announced tonight that he'd been in contact with someone on the phone prior to this evening's do and Dave has been showing some positive signs.

There was an anouncement given out tonight saying that there was a very , very slight improvment to his condition.

I have known Dave for 20 years and I am very saddened by this shocking incident. This shouldn't happen to anyone, especially not to a lovely guy such as Dave.
