I think we probably only have about 17 players for the upcoming games. Will Calcott only just started running as has Owen Restall (why did we sign a player who was badly injured?).

I couldn't agree more Misery. On top of that it looks like we have again signed a player with a bad injury. Why?

I'm also making the assumption that Douglas is now fit,which i've not seen confirmed..

Don't think Calcott will be playing before April/May time if he has only just started running.

Strange Ben Crookes has been at all the training sessions including last weeks but not named on the squad list?

Even counting Tibbs and Crookes it still only gives us 20 players and out of those Calcott and Restall are still some way off and Douglas still has his thumb well strapped so at best that’s 17 who could be fit, 2 that aren’t and 1 maybe with no partnership officially announced.

The always reliable game caller says we are getting Dan Okoro, Lucy's Green and Jake Thewlis on loan from Warrington - no details of duration . All young promising players who would doubtless improve the squad IF this proves accurate, and we could rely on keeping them for the bulk of the season.

At the moment we haven’t got one, however our squad obviously isn’t big enough and with no new permanent signings currently on the cards logic and past experience would indicate they likely will have and once again another coach won’t be asking us if we agree or not.

Other coaches don't ask us about DR, they tell us. I'd rather have local lads on trial, at least they would have some connection with Fax.

Just posting about our squad, the number of players and the likeliest option to expand it rather than the merits or personnel preferences about DR, loans and the rest but whatever.

Listening to Kyles interview suggests we’ve a 21 man squad...Crookes and one other un-announced then....

At the players launch last night it was confirmed Crooks was staying (and he was there), his registration is with the RL now. Eastmond spoke very highly of him.

Crookes is a top performer, a true professional who is just the type of player every club needs.
My only concern is the number of injuries he’s had over the past couple of seasons.
Was it just bad luck and part and parcel of the game or is his body telling him something?
Lets hope it’s the former and he can spend some time on the pitch and have a good season.

Yes, Eastmond agreed the squad is thin. For now he says that's has been good as he has been able to spend more time with the current group and on a 121 basis as well. But he said he is now able to look at further additions, he inferred that could a few permanent and then also some loanees. On the DR front he said there are a few options but and that when he may bring someone in he would prefer this to be for a number of weeks so that they can gel with the squad and what we do, but accepted that circumstances and injuries may affect that.

He was asked about assistant coach. He has delayed doing this, again he said so that he could personally spend time and build relationships with the players. But that he would be looking to appoint after Christmas with a few options.
