So what are you saying then, our club enters into some expensive legal case over a player that they've obviously discarded ? I'm only asking, not suggesting.

My first post said what I was saying so no point in repeating it.

As regards a legal case, if there has been an approach to any of our players who are in contract yes I would expect the club to fight the case especially when you have a signed contract in the drawer.
Unless some form of compensation has allready been reached behind the scenes.

That wasn't that long ago so the time frame for him to be going nowhere, to becoming discarded and then that becoming known so Leigh would make a behind the scenes approach to a contracted player who is one of the highest earners where he is when Leigh are not exactly strapped for cash etc etc etc.

To me something does not add up and we will probably never know but seeing as no one else had raised the point i did.

This is pure comedy. At the end of the day he's a dork who doesn't know what day of the week it is.

If he really wanted to stay he would have put more effort in and showed his worth. Looking from the outside, he has not really shown that he deserves to get the money he gets. And Fax as a club have to make a decision do we waste money on somebody, who comes across as not putting in the effort and is costing the club thousands or look to cut losses even if it means loaning out to Fev. For me the club have done right. It also sends a message that no matter who you are the club will not tolerate people not putting in the effort

That bit where he was allowed to go on loan to the league's most consistent league performers over the previous three or four seasons seems to be the moment he was discarded to me, correct me if you like, question that statement if you like but that's how i see it.

Totally agree John. I don't know the ins and outs of what's gone on and don't care much for speculation. If he's been badly led then that is a shame but it happens to many.

Never had any issue with him. He's always approachable and will always say hello when he's out and about.

Everyone has praised Karl's attitude of wanting committed hard working players. If for whatever reason he feels Sam wasn't falling under that banner then it's hard to question him moving on. We'll leave him too it rather than bringing a bandwagon of hate like some Sheffield fans do whenever he lines up against them.

Quite right Brew as I have said before, I can't think of any players who left for different pastures not being welcomed back at the Shay.
Take Saturday for example, Bob Beswick, Ryan McDonald, Penky, John Fieldhouse, Dave Larder, Michael Ostick, all I am sure we're spoken to by many Fax fans.

I think that's partly down to our position near the top of our league. It's rare that a player moves to a club that is seen as higher up than ours.

When Gleeson agreed to sign for Fev then appeared the same day at The Shay signing a contract on the pitch, Fev were still on the rise as opposed to where they are now, same as when worrincy and Barlow left Sheffield for us. Many players who leave fax are ones that the coaching staff deem surplus. That or who other clubs are willing to pay more for their services.

There isn't too much a gap between the top 4 or 5 teams in this division. We'll compete for the signatures of the same players. And if an I individual leaves one club, chances are he'll wind up at another of the higher teams, unless Whitehaven or York (bith examples before anyone gets upset) push the boat out and sell their vision for growth
