Cmon Fax Machine, nowt offensive there just the truth, I wasn’t at the game today, but you couldn’t beat beat us when we went a man down , apparently 2 men down at one stage, we beat ya with only one half back.
And be honest which Fax players would get into the Leigh side?I stand by my statement .NONE.Just being honest.I predicted a 20 - 24 point Leigh win , I would probably have been right had we had 13 men.

Ian you're right. Had Leigh not lost a man we would've won by more than 20.

Why, because we can't afford them!!
I do believe Charlie is a genuinely friendly guy but gets carried away at times and gets friendlier depending on how the Leythers are performing.
Told yer, he sings loudest and posts only when Leigh are winning, when they aren't it's silence.
Free round in that sense today, lose and it's what most people expect, win and we feel a better for a few days, either way life goes on and doesn't depend on a rugby game.
Up the Fax.'"
You know me Faxcar, we have met, I wasn’t at the game today , had a trip to Birmingham at Crufts, our 2 Scottie’s even appeared on the channel 4 programme.
I was quiet during the close season , but mainly because I fail to see Fax as a threat this year, I could be wrong though.
As for Leigh players being well paid...?Im not privy to what they are on , some might be on good contracts , as they are full time , but some are just on wages,we have a good team spirit this year.
I will be at the return fixture at the Shay, it’s my birthday then , hopefully we can meet again.Take care .

| Did well enough to get it back to 14 - 10 then we just needed to come out second half with some steady control and discipline and with the extra man build some pressure and try and cash in.
We saw none of that, where their brains were after half time I have no idea.
Even at 24 - 16 and 2 scores Kev just blew any remaining chance with that daft shoulder charge giving away another 2 points pushing it out to 3 scores and spending the last 10 mins in the bin.

| You were definitely favourites at half time, having dragged back a 0-14 deficit (against 13 men) then going in to half time against 11. Incredibly, your discipline went out of the window in the second half, and those three penalties, in kickable positions were stupid gifts.
All in all, it was a bad tempered game. I thought the ref had a bad time of it - all round - although his three cards were spot on, from where I sat. But, for most of the game, he just didn't seem able to get a grip of things, and both teams got well rattled. Having said that, I'm not sure what a ref can do when both sides are as niggly as those today. He's from Australia, so I'll just be charitable and say he's probably used to having another ref on the pitch with him!
It was a pity about the niggle, because both teams scored some nice tries.

| What have I missed with the niggle comments aimed in our direction? Anyway I thought the ref had a good game and did well to handle the game especially when it got to the point where Leigh wanted to fight our players after an offside decision. It was quite bizzare how they totally lost their heads but luckily in the 2nd half we reverted to form and giving away penalty after penalty.

SG mentions some in the middle were lucky to keep their place based on recent past performances.
Maybe the result last week made him stick with them and It would appear that Huddersfield had no one to offer us this week because of their fixture list so not sure who he could have brought in anyway and was more or less was forced to stick with them?

Everyone can see where the problem is and get frustrated why there aren't changes made.
What options are there?
We have no one to bring into the pack from our own squad because of injuries to Ben Kav, Elliott Morris and Sion Jones and Tommy Lee needs a couple of weeks to get up to pace.
We had no one to bring in from DR because no one was available.
That means we're left with the same ones doing the same things the same way with the same results.
If there's a realistic alternative with the funding we have say what it is.

| Under Grix, there are no two performances the same. Although I wasn't there, today was clearly abject. Words fail how shameful that second half must have been, to concede 10 points off penalities to 12 men doesn't make logical sense. Discipline is diabolical. As I have said before, the plight of our discipline is either lack of fitness, lack of coach oversight to understand where the issues are or a combination of both.
Money or lack thereof is for me, not a fundamental issue. There are countless examples in league and other sports of coaches who get teams to perform beyond expectations, with limited budgets etc. We did have a guy who did that for the most part in four seasons. I feel for Grix as he clearly is frustrated but this is his team whom he has built has of yet failed to get to perform, irrelevant of last week. I'll say it again, his whole dynamic about this year was starting better than previous seasons. The playing resources we have and with Tommy Lee coming in has close to 750+ games worth of superleague experience. Will be surprised if we sneak a win against London. Not sure when enough is enough but find it very difficult to defend our position right now. We are going backwards rapidly. I thought we built some real stability on and off the field over the last couple of seasons but that quickly is going south. Geeking out but we've won 7 of 22 league games with Grix. Relegation form.

| We wont have a better chance to beat Leigh than this.
In my opinion our pack is not strong enough this season. We lack the grunt and go forward of a Calahane or someone who can break a tackle like Tangata. Not sure why we didn't look for players down under.
We are making far too many basic errors and giving penalties away. Something has to change or attendances will dwindle. Not about money we can still cut out errors and be workmanlike completing sets. We aren't giving ourselves a chance.

Good morning GFB.
I clearly made 'niggle comments' about both sides. I'm not sure what started it all, but players were 'coming together' at any and every opportunity. I thought our discipline was appalling in the first half - I don't know why that was. I don't think the ref did a particularly good job of keeping both teams apart, after the tackle, but I can't think of any ref who could have stopped the aggro that was constantly on the bubble.

Everyone understands where the issue is especially SG, which is the same players turning out exactly the same poor performance each week.
It's them giving the penalties away, getting run over down the middle when defending and hardly being able to break a tackle going forward not SG.
They've been told, he's told them, they know it and either can't change or won't change.
In this scenario the coach would normally force the changes so why hasn't he.
SG gave the answer and said.
"It's not like we can go to the supermarket and buy what we want."
That was the case in preseason recruitment and is the case now, when players are performing they play when they're not they get dropped, so again what options has he to leave some sitting in the stands?
Who have we got currently in the squad to replace them with?
No one.
Who can we afford to bring in who's available and any better?
No one.
Who was available on DR?
No one.
Unlike us who can basically say what we want SG has to restrain himself in being critical of his players when commenting in interviews and in public.
Unlike us he's living it, breathing it, thinking about it every day whilst still trying to fix it with his hands tied behind his back to some extent.
RM did a great job in what he achieved but he would have done an even better job with more funding because he would have brought in better players.
Every team in this division who have made progress in the past and are at the top now have had the most money to spend and the better DR arrangement both equating to more better quality players to choose from.
Funding isn't the be all and end all but for Fax in the current situation it just means we are less likely to be able to make the necessary changes.

Pull the other one lad. That team is more than good enough to be competing with Leigh, Fev, London, Toulouse
Grix : 300+
Murrell : 100 +
Lee : 250 +
Larroyer : 100 +
Kavanagh : 150 +
Hirst : 50 +
Broughton : 100 +
+ A majority of other players have played at the top level of the championship for many seasons and Super 8s . I have no doubt that other teams have healthier playing budgets than us and who wouldn't rather play their rugby in Toulouse! But the present gulf for me is too sizeable for the squad we have.
Irrelevant of DR. He might turn it around but little evidence to suggest its going to happen. The discipline and being rolled down the middle is everything to do with prep and mitigation. If he can't galvanise them to tackle it on the field then there is a fundamental issue in how they are preparing both as a team and for the opposition.

You blame the coach, I don't based on the fact of seeing that it's the same players giving the penalties, losing the collision in the tackle and making the errors, not the coach.
If any player in the Fax team, especially of those you quoted needs to be galvanized or shown how to tackle or how to play at this stage of their careers then it makes you wonder how they even got this far.
Incidentally of those players you quoted.
Lee and Kavanagh aren't even playing.
Grix and Broughton are backs.
Murrell is a stand off who defends the right edge.
None of whom have any effect on being rolled down the middle and aren't the ones giving the penalties away.
Other than that your analysis makes perfect sense, lad.

Easy to blame the ref, but I don't think you can argue too much with any of the cards. Yes, other refs might have interpreted things differently, but you can see why they were given.
One the penalties, if I were a Fax fan, the tip tackle, that tackler holding reynolds down as he was getting up and the shoulder charge would really annoy me. They were brainfades, close to their own line and made life easy for Leigh, who were happy to chip away and take the 2s on offer. Whether the ref was petty at times, these were actual penalties and they helped decide the game.
Would've helped if the ref hadn't made up a load of hand signals for his decisions though. Think he started doing the YMCA at one point.

You've really misrepresented what I am saying. I am referring to the discipline aspect; if Grix can't galvanise them to collectively take responsibility for the discipline on the field, not the literal tacking itself, although I'm not privy, the wrestling aspect has become a core feature for a lot of defences now. We could just as well be poor in that department as well. You can split hairs if you want but everything on the field for the majority of last year and this year suggests failings at the coaching level. Hoping Tommy Lee might bring a bit of steel down the middle. Fleming and Larroyer need dropping IMO.
