Renoylds is nothing special and I think we would lose out if it goes through. Plus it seems he doesn't want to come anyway.

RCS needs to be blooded, also Mcgrath. Sharp has maybe a season left in him. I think there have been a few in the reserves the last couple of years that have never poked their nose through to the first team, despite the anticipation they would ; Kian Morgan (Is he even still here?) Oliver Waite? No love in with London and I realise that a full- time environment does have a significant impact on their success (but wasn't immediate) but last year and even this year in Super League, the vast majority of their team was built from within, locally (Walker, Davies, Hindmarsh, Lovell, Adibyi, Dixon) with a 1 or 2 quality players (Sammut) and a few cast offs (Williams, Kear, Battye).

With Newcastle coming up next year it seems, they also have a strong development system and with a bit of money behind them and seemingly a decent following at home, could 'do' a London also. We need to be astute and build 'forward'. We can't compete on the capital side (Leigh, Toronto, Toulouse) but we do have leverage when it comes in having a solid core of skilful youngsters locally to build around.

Regarding the playing staff this weeks RL Press has the following report / quotes from Simon Grix.

He added: "A handful have already been made public and there's a lot more to come."

The table doesn't lie and many changes are needed.If he doesn't make them he'll be one of them very quickly.

Which is fair enough and it's better for all parties that it came to light and stopped a potentially bad move going through as the club only want players who want to be here.

Yes it does seem to suggest there is some of that involved.

All those who give of their time to get contributions in do so because they love the club and know nothing is guaranteed as to how things will turn out regarding the players they make it possible to bring in so will just carry on.

I contribute as often and as much as I can and after having done so you just have to go with the decisions the club makes trusting that they are in a better position than me to make them.

Fax wanted Tangata to return to the club and supported him when no one else was doing so, on his side he really needs to make his mind up where he wants to be, either way life goes and both parties will no doubt cope with it.

Just feels like the club is skint and in chaos as it lurches from one clueless board to another - the guys on the board I’m sure give of their best but do have other large commitments and perhaps lack the skills the club really needs to move forwards.

Yet there are people saying magnificent things are ahead - the latest being Luke Ambler on his Twitter page who hints at coming back in a non playing capacity and that brilliant things are ahead!

I guess, what I’m saying is, as a fan, we contribute what we can financially, time wise and emotionally but are left to guess what is going on - things like this with Tangata just promotes bad feeling.

Aye freddie very true, as each year goes on we seem to face the same old deteriorating issues which could be, depending on who you listen to catastrophically terminal, to better times round the corner and everywhere in between.

As I see it, at our level it’s hard to see how things will get any better and easy to see how things could get worse.

Don't need any old faces coming back to the club off field etc, needs a fresh new approach.

If he keeps the bulk of the same lads then the changes will have to be as SG mentions in getting some consistency and producing the goods.

If they can't then I don't think he is the sort to mess around for long providing he has the funding to do anything about it.

It's clear to see where we are lacking. No doubt sentiment will get in the way of moving forward. Also don;t like idea of ex players coming back as per suggested this week in whatever capacity. Thats how you become stale, move on, new faces, new ideas, new approach.

I’ve been told from within the team that RM was a bit to easy with them but SG is much tougher with no time for sentiment.

One test / indicator will be if it extends to the performance / place in the team of a family member.

All this talk of brotherly love is horlicks. Scott was outstanding against St Helens, in other games not so. That's been the story of our season, long before he joined us. We're finishing in the bottom half of the 2nd division for a reason so big changes are needed. I for one would keep Scott though. Up The Fax!

So Reynolds has gone to Leigh instead of part of the swap deal for Tangata so that just looks like a straight signing for them unless we can sort something out with one of their off contract players. I know we probably can't afford Craven but with Leigh signing Reynolds and having about 50 other half backs at the club it looks more than likely the Craven deal didn't get done.




Probably worth noting that when the club announced Tangata's signing as a deal to the end of next year it actually wasn't. Its probably only because Chester has such history with our club that Wakefield are trying to help us out.

Danny C would be a top signing but one consistent thing about him is he has showed a lot of loyalty toward Widnes over the years even when not being the first choice and regularly not playing.
As you know under Betts for example he was loaned out time and again, would he leave them now when he will be one of the first names on the team sheet?
