Both clubs would get shafted whilst in Super League - by the other clubs, by the referees and by the RFL. Come along, step into this burning pit of molten disaster, kill your club and disappear forever.

Neither club would do any better than Salford, Widnes or Castleford. Go and visit their boards and see how happy they are. For both our clubs, the best chance of top flight RL will come with a 2 tier SL and then a slow organic growth into the top tier. It would be suicide to go in now or 2015, unless a massive sea change occurs at either club.

This post may be un-ambitious and negative but that is what the RFL have reduced the game to. It is no reflection on either club or its tremendous fans.

2 tier SL with Relegation and promotion, would be my choice.

What's negative about wanting to stay in a league that is competetive? Where nearly all the teams can reach a final? As most of SL fans keep telling us, we're where we are on merit,--"where we belong".

I would love to be at the top table, but not at the expense of just makeing up the numbers, until the RFL decide to put Dulls or Toul13back in at the expense of my team in about 2-3 years.

Ray French said something on these lines in his collumn this week with central funding and even distrubution so as to give all clubs a fair chance.

Is that just Championship games, Championship and NRC games or Championship, NRC and CC games?

Faxcar there will be a 2 tier S/L in the 2015 whether the money gets distributed evenly between everyone is another thing

I believe we will be playing one another for many years to come yet and I am quite happy winning the league each season and competing to get to finals than goin up getting beat with no chance of a final

The only problem I see is that clubs like ours don't get enough promoting from the RFL so I can see why people in charge want S/L and the crowds won't come unless we are there your club has just won a cup and you had less than 2000 at your next game

yer it was less than I expected but this is the problem with summer rugby lots of people take their main summer holidays especially now, see how many you get thsi week?

I'm not having a pop at you for the attendance what I am saying is you won a final then less than 2000 turn up for the next match the only way you are going to get larger crowds is S/L as are Fev so although some of us are happy competing like we do other don't want to come unless we as clubs are in S/L so I can see why the people in charge are pushing for the top flight The only way we will know if we can compete is by having a go

Just Championship. That is the only fair way of calculating averages as we all play exactly the same number of games against exactly the same teams.

Unless I've cocked up somewhere along the line I think our average in the Championship has been 2237?

Not too bad to say our two biggest fixtures have been on Thursdays aswell...

My apologies, Dare. I've just re-checked my figures and you are quite correct. I got one attendance wrong (would you believe for the Fev game!)

I haven't re-checked my Fev attendance calculations but, assuming they're correct at 2,236, that means we're leading by 1. lol. How weird is that?

Maybe a Fev fan can confirm or dispute my figures?

All i know is you brought 191 to ours on a Sunday and that is an undisputed official figure. Dont know how many we brought to the Shay on a Thurs but i would put my house on it, it was a lot more than that. If teams brought a modest following to Fev we would be getting very near to 2500

I would say that Fev brought easily 300 - 400 on both occassions this season!

Yeah our following at POR was poor. People are still staying away from that fixture which is a shame

Yeah it really is a shame, most other away fixtures I've been to this season we have almost equalled the home crowd and on some occasions out numbered them. The Fax Fev games should IMO be great crowds and atmosphers. I hope things carry on progressing and attendences for these games grow, and be the numbers they should be, real fans of rugby league go for love of the game and love of there team may be a few beers and friendly banter, nothing more.

As a Leigh fan, I too find that a little funny.

In my opinion, it should be Featherstone as they have been by far the most consistant team.

Other elements let them down though.

In some cases, both Fev and Fax are well behind Leigh, but lets see what happens.

I am happy to stay in C1. SL will kill us !
