We did it hard, but I'll take any sort of win. Its nice to be travelling home with a smile on your face and not being miserable. It was obvious it also ment a lot to the lads at the end. Defence was on top form today, held them on numerous occassions on our own line. Not so fluent in attack, but showed some glimpses, in particular shads first try in second half, do have the habit of putting ourself under pressure by silly mistakes.Can't fault the effort, looks like the team spirit has come back. One happy supporter.

as always, from our own fans, we didn't deserve our win... Especially from those fans who weren't there. Nothing like supporting your team eh. The try wasn't offside, if rob did knock on it was cancelled out by a leigh knock on for their final try.
As for the notion that it should be gateshead that go down... I too felt a soft spot for leigh, until today. They are a team of thugs, and the fans are just as bad. Threatening behaviour, throwing coins at a couple of fax pensioners - classy. The self proclaimed salmon army-minging.

I've also been a critic of Worrincy and it's nice to see him stick 2 fingers up at me, good on yer. Losing can be a habit and a huge burden, hopefully the guys will now turn things around. If they feel anything like I do now, they'll have a big spring in their step, this is a HUGE weight lifted!

There was a little altercation at the end of the game at the Shay versus Leigh the other week with some speccies from both sides involved.

Just on the way back it was a tense, scrapy game but a win is a win at this stage so well done fax.

We hardly had the ball in the second half so had to put in a lot of good defence.

As for the ground 16 quid in, 1.70 a bottle of coke, and a 10min delay of kick off as they have the stupid system of buying tickets before going through the turnstiles

Just got back from the game.
Fax made it hard for themselves but a win is a win.

Leigh had so much ball they ran out of ideas, very predictable.

The commitemt was their to see from the Leigh players though, some of that from our lads in the playoffs and we'll be at the GF.

Leigh fans were good, never stopped singing and they clearly lifted their team, I was in the standing area and witnessed no bother.

Touches of class from Govin, Beswick and Glesson showed, a bit more ball and we would have ran away with it.

Roll on the next game.

i didnt go to the game as i went to the shay to watch FC Halifax Town instead i wasnt happy they couldnt give the rugby score out at half time, they gave the ashes score out at the last home game.

i dont think people are complaining i think people are relieved that we have won before it was too late.

No chance! Worrincy had already been tackled and was getting up to play the ball by the time Nanyn arrived with a cheap high shot to knock him over again.

A tough game, with both teams fighting (not literally, a couple of handbag moments, but it never boiled over) for the points. Some dodgy calls (Worrincy would have made Usain Bolt look slow given where he managed to get himself to for his second try), but this happened both ways (before the Leigh fans start bleating too much...).

Th stadium itself is fine, but refreshements are well over-priced (actually saved me money 'cos I wasn't going to pay their prices!), and the ticketing system is just rubbish.

My only other comment is to one particular Leigh "fan" - a comment of "Yorkshire scum" on the way out is not only very confrontational, but also not necessary at a Rugby League match.

Good ground, but give me the shay any day.

Ticketing system a farce, every turnstile was manned by a steward yet only 2 selling tickets!

...stewards who made me and my lad remove the top from our soft drinks containers before we could enter the ground. Some mistaken belief (according to the steward) that this was in accordance with the laws of Great Britain...

...the funny thing was that when my son was asked to take his top off... he started taking off his Halifax shirt... Priceless!!!!

We were far better without the ball than with the ball today i felt so many times people put themselves on the line

I would disagree with your comments about our defence. How many sets did you have on our line and come away with nothing. The second effort and scrambling defence today was top draw and won us the game. When will we learn not to put ourselves under pressure with silly mistakes in our own half? On any other day we would have been beaten, but maybe the belief has returned.

It was our ball handling that definatley let us down today

Your try-line defence was good, but our problem all season has been that we can't convert position and possession into points! It was always close, but you always had someone with the creativity/inventiveness, to make field position count. Good luck in the play-offs - if you can re-discover your early season form, you should win it.
