rubbish match - haven were lucky that they weren't beaten today in the end - v poor defence from both sides.

I also feel that if the haven player hadn't punched Penky in the face (with both his fists!) he wouldn't have woken up in the manner he did - i have never seen a Fax club doctor harangue a touch judge before - maybe he was checking to see that he hadn't been temporally blinded by all the sand blowing off the sandpit that is the playing surface in front of the skircoat stand!

Lets hope Govin's knee's and shoulders last till the end of the season - amazing what some decent ball can do for our centres and wingers

Haven took the chances and played the best they have this season. Fax played likely the worst they have especially first half and lose by 8. If I was a Haven fan I would not be that happy as you were very lucky to walk away with a win. Haven cant play like that all the time and maybe like Fev spent a load of energy on Fax and then lose next game

Punching.... Yes, it was directly in front of where I was sat. It was an absolute punch and the only reason Penky dropped the ball when he went down. The touch judge was directly in front of it and he didnt see it? Give me a break. "should have gone to specsavers"

Fax were poor today, im sure Calland will rate himself as poor based on this weeks performance maybe in training & during the game as we lost & the team didnt seem to play with any strucutre at all until the last 15 mins.

In saying that, we are a good team, we have proven that this season with our current league position. We have to get real and realise that the quality in our league is spread rather evenly & anyone is liable to beat anyone on their day.

calland is not on the pitch, some very well paid players are. but they are not proving their worth at the moment.
we have been top of the league for a while n nobody complained. now second but still chances to finnish top. its down to the players performance. calland can do what wants during training but players have to perform.

we now have a 4game season!!! crazy stuff!

the team and the players we have are good enough to win every game, we all know that....they have to turn up and wanna play, we didnt do that for 70mins 2day and thats why we got beat! same for 2nd half againt fev and 75 mins at widnes!

back to basics me thinks, unfortunatly that should have happened a while ago....rugby league is a very simple game when played properly, why do we try and score off every tackle?!

all i said in my previous post - was that penky , ok he didnt have his best game for fax , but when fax gave a sloppy try away he ranted at his teammates because he cares - he will win more games then he loses.i say it again , keep him at 9 get him involved more , rotate him with gleason , and keep govin at 6.

In the first half I thought our defence was outstanding. Albeit we kept putting ourselves under pressure but at one point we kept you out for around 7 sets without getting out of our own half. It's a lot easier to start throwing a ball around when losing 46-14 with 20 minutes left with nothing to lose and that's all Fax did and were close to stealing it late on.

I don't get why your team keep putting themselves under pressure with stupid kick offs. Ok you get some of them back but not all of them and when you were opening up as easily as you did today surely it makes more sense to get the team down the other end of the field. Especially at 0-0. Fax did the same at Whitehaven when 24-0 up after half time put a kick in which never went 10 and changed the game.

Exactly!...its pointless and brainless....if we played the basics we would be ok.

Bang on. A good kick off gives your forwards chance to get their early hits in and set the tone.

Worked fantastic at the start of the season. I like the tactic. Give's us a chance to get the ball IF IMPLEMENTED RIGHT, and if he don't come off we've traded 10 yards ... big deal.

diagree, its important for the forwards to get the changing room adrenalin out, where better then the opponents 25.

I'm sure the short kick off tactic worked, even against cas in the CC. The fact we rarely use it now, or should I say not use it the same way as before (ie Haley jumping like a jumpy thing) might explain our drain of confidence.

Agree totally. I cant understand why we have gone away from this tactic when it works so well. Think we got to every short kick off barring 1 yesterday and it was only he fact that other players wernt alert that we didnt come up with the ball more. Even the one where Haven took it cleanly they still ended up where they would of if we had kicked it deep due to the pressure from the Fax defenders.

Our first try of the game came from a short kick off. The only time you went long you got the ball back and the other one hit the post.

Take the kick off from the start of the game. We get the ball on our own 40 rather than ingoal. Edmondson busts a tackle we're now on your 30, put an attacking kick in and force a drop out. Score from the next set. If you'd kicked the ball long, we'd have went 5 drives and a long kick. The first try of the game could've made a big difference. It's not really about using the short kick off it's about using it at the correct time and possibly giving the opposition a little bit more respect.

In our record breaking relegation year we were cr@p and we knew we were. This year we are good and we know it, but at the moment we're playing cr@p. So annoying.

Beat Toulouse convincingly...beat Fev first half....Lost to Fev 2nd half....Lost to Widnes...Lost to Haven first half...Beat Haven 2nd half....Beat Sheffield convincingly....Season back on track!!! Well that's my prediction anyway!!!
