Quote="Greg Florimos Boots"Having re-read the OP im still trying to work out why this thread is still going and the other isnt even though there is more valid points on the other. Any way i took a minute to work through the post.
Last time i looked we were. The league table dosnt lie and all he is doing is stating what all opposition coaches acknowledge.
Thats sport.
Wasnt individuals it was just about all. I say let them get smashed unless it effects thier performace which on Fridays performance at the end it suggested that it did. They are employed by the club and if off field activities are affecting on field performances then it becomes a problem. I feel playing with 16 players was more of a contributing factor though.
But bagging the players on here should see this thread locked apparently.
Why were/are the above teams disliked you have to ask yourself. Its because they are succesful. Its a British thing so im not sure being disliked is such a bad thing.
Are our players playing with arrogance? Id say confidence but lets try to nip that in the bud straight away.
No one attempted a torpedo kick either.
Seriously? Did we choke? Get a grip. For whatever reason we were out on our feet. Add to that a fresh Fev who played very well.
About the only valid point you make. Although only the Haven NRC and Fev game can really count. Which Widnes playoff game? Widnes in the NRC we were chasing for most of the game so putting it to bed is a bit harsh.
The fact that you cant recognize the reason we went for goal totally infuriates me. I wonder what game people wacth sometimes. We have two players who asked to leave the field because they are knackered yet you want players who are out on their feet to carry on and not have a breather. Taking 2 didnt cost us the game any number of incidents cost us the game but this wasnt one of them.
Didnt work for Toulouse.
About sums the original post up.'"
Great Post. Completely agree. Not gonna add anymore, you said it all. LOCK THIS THREAD
Its Taken 49 posts for someone to talk sence, but thank you greg florimos boots!!
The only slight dissagreement is your responce to "ClaireFAXFAN wrote: We seem to lack that killer instinct which enables us to put a team to bed, Whitehaven in the NRC semi's a few years ago, Widnes in the play-offs, Widnes in the NRC, Whitehaven in the play-offs and Featherstone last night."
Its ok saying that but think of all the late comebacks we've made againgst teams that should have put us to bed, Leigh and dewsbury away from last year immediately spring to mind. Its an 80 minute game and rather than attempting to "put a side to bed" once we get into position we should focus on maintaining the performance that has got us into this position in the 1st place and take each minute as it comes
i think this thread, the drinking one, blaming the ref, crying and calling each other names etc firstly undermines how well fev played, they won because they were better; and secondly shows how high emotions are running after such a tense game that we lost this time. Isn't that what sport is all about. Its strange, but the feeling of utter despair i felt friday night when lee scored in the last minute sits better with me than joyful apathy i felt when beating batley 72 0. I'd take the former over the latter 9 times out of 10.
