I may have picked this up wrong, the last person leaving a post, is upset that there have been no pre-season games. I know that Fax control the worlds economy, unfortunately Fax have no control over the weather. The pitch at the Shay is a veritable SWAMP. Surely we don't want any player to get injured playing in such bad conditions

Already I fear for our opening Championship game against Swinton on the 16th. More bad weather is forecast for this weekend and next week with, reportedly, little sign of improvement for a couple of weeks yet. Fingers crossed that, despite the forecasts, things will pick up in time.

The pitch needs sorting out properly as with better drainage the game would have been ON. Hopefully the job that should have been done last summer will be done this one.

If I were a tenant and were unable to use a facility that was agreed in my tenancy agreement I would refuse to pay my rent.

For goodness sake , i really want to see game but it has been ing it down for weeks so it's no wonder the pitch is under water.
Even the Savile Park Moor is a quagmire and that normally drains regardless of what is thrown at it.
Keep working on it lads and let's get it the pitch right for the games that count.

Anybody seeing the pictures posted on Twitter or Facebook last night will understand why the game has been cancelled!!

From the picture I saw underneath looked quite firm and it was just the top of the pitch that was quite bad. I have a feeling if it were an important game then it may have gone ahead but it would have made a mess of the pitch so it were sensible not to do that.

Not the best preperation for the most important season in years.

Word is because of the standing water they couldn't mark out the pitch. Which to any clown makes sense! Ever tried to paint a lake?! No! Me neither!

We should be more worried about Ambler, Murrell and Robs injuries rather than tittle tattling about bsh*t rumours!!

Ambler will be good to go for Swinton, I doubt Worrincy is much in the coaches plans and the only one to really worry about is Murrell who Im guessing is either not as bad as first feared or they are keeping it quiet and its another one that could be up to 8 weeks.

said in courier Murrell aggravated his injury in training and wouldn't be risked against Leigh (if game had gone ahead). I'd assume he will be ok come start of league games

Maybe the club should have waited until 12 0'clock sunday lunchtime to perform a pitch inspection & postpone this fixture instead of doing it the other day & get lumbered with a load of catering and stuff, noon would have been fine, plenty of time to call off the lobby-gobblers' travel plans etc etc. That would have pleased everyone involved i'm sure, then folks could have turned round & said things like, well i saw some photo's on Tweeter, instagram, facebook on friday and no way would it have been playable even before the weekend's deluge of rain. I know my mates over at Fev were gutted over the loss of their friendly v Cas due to the pitch being unplayable, there's no drama for me, correct action taken as far as i'm concerned. Loving the banter on here though....
I'm sure in this economic climate the club are chuffed to bits at losing revenue from this fixture !!!! At least some of our players got a run out with the reserves on thursday evening, putting some match miles into their chubby little legs.
