lol...don't know how Town get away with this but it was shut during arbitration but has now reopened so it must be ok.arbitration obviously went against the rugby and to be fair
both clubs have contracts and the fact that the football now play twice as many games does not warrant a 50k withhold, just a request to re-evaluate.

| Don't forget the repair bill to pitch that Town add to the maintenance costs every year after a full winter season of using it and then try and blame the rugby club despite the fact that it is in perfect condition when we have finished playing on it.

certainly true this season but a friendly v Shudds knackered the pitch for the final 3 months of football season a couple of years ago.

| Quote ="Bubba"You really dont think moving the club 13 miles down the road would make a difference? People support HRLFC because of the 'H' bit...Halifax. It is a club representing our town. The more casual supporter, who wakes up on a Sunday morning and decides to go to a match, may well not be bothered if they have to make more of an effort (and greater expense) to get there? It could well affect sponsorship too along with commercial income.
I am sure as well that 'with the ground in its current state' the Shay is still superior to Post Office Road. I would be interested to know what gross profit Fev make from their stadium, if anything. On the whole the Shay deal for the clubs isnt bad for what is included in the monthly rent.'"
You are presuming that moving 13 miles down the road is the only option. It isnt.
Fev make every penny of anything that is sold in their ground, what do Fax and Town make?

I thought Town were refusing to move out of their condemned offices? Maybe health and safety should have a nosey in there eh?
As for the shop, the town fans have a go at Fax for taking the pee but come on, that is one big joke.

| From Bubba's figures, the number of players on the pitch for Fax maybe greater but they are spread out more, proof of this is the pile of a goal area which in my opinion was massively to blame for Miles Greenwood's broken leg. The middle of each penalty area are a constant mess, the same with most lower league football pitches.

| Quote ="Bubba"Fax have complained for a long time about pitch usage and have been proven wrong. Though I am happy for them to prove me wrong.
Going back to the 2013/14 season (when Fax first bleated to the local press about pitch usage and unfair rent charges) the Shaymen used the pitch 25 times.
(Games x players on pitch x length of match = pitch usage)
25 x 22 x 90 = 49,500
During their 2013 campaign Fax also had use of the pitch for 25 games.
25 x 26 x 80 = 52,000
Do you have the information available about how many times HRLFC have trained on the pitch this year to make an accurate assessment? I dont, but history suggests Fax will once again be wrong.
Both clubs, as part of their tenancy, get office space within the stadium. Whilst Fax are using the facilities that the East Stand offers, the Shaymen continue to operate from out of the dated office block between the South and Skircoat Road Stands.
The rugby club have for a number of years had a club shop to sell merchandise from. Whilst there is history behind the reasons why FCHT continue to sell goods from a trestle table rather than their own shop, the fact is that this is one additional area where HRLFC get a greater use of the Shay facilities.
Then there is the gym underneath the South Stand which is exclusively used by the rugby club. Fax also have the laundry room within the East Stand which will use considerable amounts of water and electric. The Shaymen however continue to use an external launderette at their own expense.
Fax Facilities
• Kit Store - 143.75 sq.ft.
• Boot room – 62.5 sq.ft.
• Physio room – 136.10 sq.ft.
• Changing and Showers – 487.14 sq.ft.
• Gym – 1352.67 sq.ft.
• Records store – 115.5 sq.ft.
• Use of meeting rooms within the stadium subject to availability
Rooms in East Stand
• Shop – 339.81 sq.ft.
• Laundry – 186.33 sq.ft.
• Coaches Office – 84.86 sq.ft.
• Physio Room – 105 sq.ft.
• Office – 612.59 sq.ft
• Use of meeting rooms within the stadium subject to availability.
Total square footage 3626.25 sq.ft.
Town Facilities
Rooms in the old office block, south west corner of the ground.
• Store room – 140.03 sq.ft
• Changing room – 195.25 sq.ft.
• Reception – 87.5 sq.ft.
• Large office front right – 398 sq.ft.
• Commercial Directors office – 118.06 sq.ft.
• Left corner – 148.14 sq.ft.
• Office commune – 150.33 sq.ft
• Secretary – 78.83 sq.ft.
Rooms in East Stand
• Physio room – 125 sq.ft.
• Coaches Office – 103.14 sq.ft.
• Use of meeting rooms within the stadium subject to availability.
Total square footage 1544.28 sq.ft.'"
Old news and now inaccurate ask yourself how many games did Town play at home last season compared to Fax? Plus do Fax still use that gym under the south stand?

| Also do Town have to play away from the Shay mid season every year for pitch improvements without any compensation? No but Fax do and they lose out as no income for 6 weeks then several home games on the bounce with lower crowds as fans get out of the habit of going and cannot afford 3 or 4 games back to back but you never mention that do you?

I agree that it is a very difficult situation for Fax and some blame should be apportioned to those who owned/ran the club when they failed to invest in Thrum Hall, allowed it to become a dump leaving you with no option but to move to a football stadium.

How many games did FCHT play, how many games did HRLFC play, how many non 1st team games did either club play, how many training sessions did each club have?
I take it the gym is now empty of anything to do with HRLFC?

| It's not a football stadium though is it!!!!! It's a community sports stadium where rugby and football is played and should be fit for purpose.Fax have been at the Shay for 18 years. What long gone previous owners of the club allegedly did or didn't do prior to that is irrelevant.

| Incorrect. It's a community sports stadium regardless of who it suits.
The truth is if you would admit it you would love it if it was just a football stadium. After 18 years you can't get past Fax are there and it's the objection to that at the root of every post no matter how it's dressed up to look.
Who was to blame for allowing the Shay to become a dump and eyesore of the Town when only football and speedway was there?

Why don't you all get over it? Both clubs have to share the facilities, end of. And one club, or the other, will always be perceived to be getting something more than the other. Why don't we just agree to disagree on who is the council's favourite, because it seems to me that it's them that are screwing the clubs over one way or another.

Well, to say I spent at least the first ten years of HRLFC playing at the Shay as a regular (home and away) I dont think you have a valid point.
As for the Shay becoming a dump - it was never owned by HTAFC so again you are just clutching at straws.

| Could everyone please check with Bubba before posting to ensure that the he agrees or the post won't be valid.
Town have been lucky to been able to have a stadium provided by the council and payed for by the community all these years because without it they would have had nothing of their own making.
That being they case how can a few supporters of a club that have taken so much from the communities finances still not be satisfied and think that they can dictate to everyone else.
Fact is although the Shay is far from being ideal, since the rugby club moved there it initially improved more in those few years than all the years previous put together.

Must all be down to Town then.
Take the credit when the Shay is improved.

Abdicate any responsibility for improvements.
