BUT, stop charging down kicks, we could have lost that game today with the charge down and Murrell trying to pick up on the run instead of just dropping on the ball. I still think Ecclstone has a hell of a lot to learn, taking the kick-off just inside the dead ball line instead of putting his foot over the line. Thinking players win games.

Charging down kicks is an odd one in RL. It shows that we are putting good pressure on the kicker but RL rules don't reward the player/ team for Charging down, which is a shame. May be a rule change so like Union a legal charge down is not a knock on. It's rewarded as a skill and therefore advantage to the defending team.

HJ. A bit of an injustice to Fax there i think. You can only play as well as you are allowed and the Fax lads absolutely nullified the icons today. I agree that the bullies looked poor but surely that was down to our lads superb effort. Sportsman, shudds. Mallinsons Nelson Sauvin 3.8 % Mmm!

One of my friends from work, who is Dulls fan said that when the players went over at the end the Bratfut "supporters" were calling the players "F'ing Wa@@@@s" and giving them the fingers. Even my friend said the so called supporters are pathetic.

I'm happy that we put pressure on the kicker but, as you say, the rules do not benefit the charge down, ergo, don't do it.

A charge down isn't counted as a knock on in league either it's just we need to recover the ball after making the charge down!

That was a much needed win and we deserved it although they were poor but we got stuck in and it was a throw back to last season as we tackled them out of their stride although they never got in one!
I agree about the charge down and would say don't bother unless the rule changes as it has cost us this season and nearly did again.
Bold move by Richard today playing Steve Tyrer and Ben Kaye after being out injured plus putting Tommy in who never let us down and the two rookies Jake Eccleston and Brandon Moore did well.
Lets kick on and beat Fev now to get our season back on track, this should give us loads of confidence.

I did think the ref was a bit out of his depth today, seemed clueless at times.

I managed to see the game today, but am confused as to how Bradford got a penalty and Manning put on report, when from where I was it looked like Manning got forearm smashed in the chops. I look forward to hearing the views of fans that were closer.

Great win, wanted it far more and as said before, this was probably the key to winning that game. We now need to use this as a springboard and kick on. We're in a similar position to last year, but have got a win against a full time team earlier, so let's now kick on again as we did last year.

Charge down, I think it's a great ploy, but only in the right areas. If their struggling out of their 30/40, try it. Doing it as we did about 20 metres from our line...was dumb.

Great individual efforts from the usual stand out players, agree that nobody had a bad game either.

Finally, the ref! Baffling at best. Odd penalty, after odd decision. To top it off, he was taking both sides back about 7 metres all game and didn't even bother having a look at any goings on around the ruck.

I thought the ref got two forward passes wrong in the first half that we would more than likely have scored from as well as getting the wrong man for a late tackle which saw Manning put on report instead of Tangata. I also wonder about the same incident just how far can advantage be played, I thought it was just the same tackle but that incident seemed to go against that.

Going back to the Oldham game, Richard Marshall's decision to rest players and ease up in the 2nd half was totally justified given the Bradford result and performance. Well done RM.

Bradford can,t complain really. The coach new they were in for a tough game hence he brought their previous match forward, allowing one days extra rest,the penalty count was 10 - 4 in their favour, and they got away with murder 3 head high shots in the first half alone and a deliberate stamping on Moore whilst he was on the ground by Gaskell, he should have been sin binned at least. And not one penalty given. The difference was a Halifax back three who tackled everything in site, oustanding defence. Some of Smeatons tackles, well glad i wasn,t on the receiving end and legal aswell. Our front row were making ground every touch of the ball. I was hard pressed to spot who was the fulltime team.
