I do agree that sometimes the moderators seemingly step in because it appears they are simply bored of a thread or dont like them for personal reasons, then sometimes when topics move torwards slander and defamation they stand by and watch when they could and maybe should sometimes intervene earlier, its a no win situation sometimes, and its a busy forum

BUT.......

They dont do a bad job to be honest and i dont think its as easy as some posters think, its a public forum and fine line is trodden from time to time. Posters and mods are only human.

Thankless Task being a Mod-can never please everybody! For what its worth TS and others do a good job on here. I do not want to read what some waste of space Bitter Soccer fan has to say. Banter is OK-like with our friends from Widnes, Barrow, Haven, Leigh etc. But some lowlifes from the Soccer section are just on here to cause problems. Certain posts/Threads need to be locked or deleted. Keep up the good work Mods.

Exactly, there isn't anybody saying they could do a better job or asking to have a go, and if you do, then please do so, see how you like it when the shoe is on the other foot.



I'm not as trigger happy as TS, nor does that make him wrong or me worse. I have banned people/cleared this forum over the last few days and will keep on doing so if people break the AUP, stupid FCHT fans keep playing their broken records or banter gets too personal. Whatever we do or don't do we get flak, "damned if we do, damned if we don't".

My personal view is to let threads and discussion flow, that's the whole point of this facility. Once it stops being a discussion and develops into needless and pointless mud slinging then that's when we step in. If you don't like it, don't visit and post constructive views.

too! i have had my run ins with other users but its usually due to a difference of opinion which is the point of the forum and not just to cause trouble...long may the discussions continue, im all for a bit of stick just as long as its not too abusive.

Its funny, many post on here complaining about over assertive moderating not permitting open debate, yet thats what they only ever post - they never actually contribute to debate, they just whine, as is their want (and makes them perfect candidates for supporting halifax).

Thats exactly the way it should be. IMHO some threads did get closed a bit early mainly due to muppets from Town not adding anything constructive but as i have said before most posters that have been on here a few years will know which peoples posts they can read and which to ignore.

Pains me to suggest this, but it might be a good idea to have a 'meet the mods' type sticky on here like the bradford scums have on their forum
