Sadly DR is here to stay as of now and every club is using it.
Everything is only here for now because although we know there will be a return to some form of licensing no one knows jack all else.

I think our reserves team plays just a small support roll now and a bigger part in preparation for when the door gets shut, that’s when some of these lads will have matured enough to cut it in a first team because it will happen in the next couple of years.

The fact is Fev chose to employ every means available including scrapping a highly talented reserve team and being one of the first to employ DR to the full in an attempt not to stay alive but to get an advantage over their closet rivals to gain a place in SL.
This forced others to make a choice, either follow suite or be left behind.
You yourself described DR as she#ite and if a small number of people took the p##s or heaped she#ite on Fev, it was Fev that dumped on themselves not Fax.
We just shovelled it back and got covered in it while doing so.

This is a constant flawed argument, why?

They don’t need the use of DR to tell them what RM thinks of them in the context of being good enough to play regular first team rugby against the likes of Fev Rhinos this Sunday.

He told them to their faces that they had not done enough in the pre season friendlies and will have told them and be helping them to do better.


It’s made to sound like they have read it in the paper with no dialogue.

However prior to this he also told them, and put it the press that each of these lads had been signed because he rated them and they deserved a contract with a chance to get a first team place at some time in the future.

Rather than take it as an insult and snivel, they either work harder and prove themselves or drift away proving that they weren’t actually up for it.

This applies to the incoming players in the same way.

The reserve lads performance today shows how they are going to react to the Challenges including DR, what about us?

Most SL clubs have a number of players out on DR or loan with other clubs with all parties involved in full agreement.
First stage feeder is irreversibly set in place with second stage in clear view.

Anyway you have rested your case so further evidence is inadmissible.

Not to mention that they only have to look at a number of our first team to see they have made the step up from the reserves so the pathway is there for them if they continue to improve. Putting some of the young lads that Hudd Shay thinks should be playing in to the first team at this stage in their careers would be a mistake, they need to be looked after and RM is doing a great job of that anyone who believes otherwise is deluded.

You make out like you are the only one who thinks this way. Its a disgrace but SL clubs run the game and if they say they are not running reserves what hope do the rest of us have? At Fax we are trying, and although we are using DR you should be proud that our youngsters have a chance.

13 Halifax born players now in 1st team squad. Some of who have come through the reserves. We all agree that DR is killing the game but we at least have looked at another pathway for home grown talent.

Best team won, better game control, better discipline, less errors and Riddy who can come up with the skill for the special play.
Fax will learn from it.

We put in the effort but we cannot win tight games with no half backs with any pace they had more in their locker than us which is why we lost.
Get a bl**dy half back who can kick and at least know how to play at No 6 or 7 to help out Muzza who busts a gut but is too slow please RM - Fev had three payers who can play in those positions and it proved the difference- today!

Scott seems even slower than last season. I would of rather had aston on dual reg and played scott off the bench but need a number 7 also we are lacking in the halves massively and it will cost us this season.

You certainly were 2nd best in the halves but your forwards lost the collision and didn't give your halves any platform to work.
This is the first season I wouldn't have taken Murrell.

We didn't play any DR yesterday. I'm happy with that.

All our DR/Loan players played well so that can be put to bed pretty early.

Same problem as last season. Penalties, unforced errors, and unable to score points.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

People saying Hitchcock looked uninterested everything came down Heaton's wing so hardly is fault. The faults were the halfs and also no fast play the ball we are slow off the mark etc. When you watch the leigh v Toronto game you will see how far we are behind

With respect didn't notice a tackle bust or decent off load from any of our DR forwards.As for Hitchcox,one opportunity to go full length simply didn't have the pace.I'm sure the likes of Sion Jones etc can tackle and run hard,i have different expectations from DR if we have to use it.That game at 8-4 going downhill was there for taking but as well as the obvious lack of guile we worrying ran out of fitness...

Mediocrity doesn't appear to have deterred him.
He wasn't thought well enough to retain him. He went elsewhere.... and elsewhere.... then elsewhere back to his fathas team. Presumably he'll take root back there.

You really believe Hitchcox was interested and put in a shift?

He hardly put a foot wrong. Not a bad debut for us at all.

Did nothing that Chester Butler couldn't have done,probably less.

Regardless of what Hitchcox can or can’t do Chester is a good player with the strength and size to be able to compete in the Championship now, unlike some of the other lads that are still to develope and should be given an extended run and can do a job on the wing.
Not sure that’s where his future lies, but he may not have one unless he gets some first team game time and sooner rather than later.

Upcoming talent stifled by unmerited DR again...as an asidev anyone who witnessed last night,were there any standouts ?
