Very poor performance, poor game although credit to York they stuck at their gameplan and it worked but how bad were we? It was very low on entertainment I wondered why I had even bothered going all that way?
Why did Sky pick this game for TV it was a total non event, having to go to York on a Thursday night not on a Sunday is bad news.

Some players need to be shipped out namely Clayton, Big Frank, and Nash especially.

Am not in the business to oust players on public forums.... But there is a large proportion that won't/don't want to be with Fax next year

That was really poor. Theres about 9 players out of that 17 i wouldnt have at Fax next year. Still paying for Callands poor recruitment. Ive said all year its hard for any half back to play behind a beaten pack and it was the same tonight but to be fair our half backs are crap. Anybody could see not signing branighan up again was a massive mistake and Bowman, Jones and Black have been crap for most of the season and our lightweight pack has struggled for yards all year untill Aizue comes on. I always wince when they say on sky that Beswick should be playing SL, Penky is twice the player he is as we saw tonight.

Ive seen some crap over the years and that was up with it. Looked like bottleless players but i guess they take after our bottless board. What do them results look like by the way?

Last night was poor - ergo valid criticism of players. Last three years have been fantastic - therefore invalid criticism of board!

The board have done a fantastic job - what a rife its been.

I think, last night we saw the end of a cycle. The end to this miserable season can't come soon enough. One good thing we can take from this is we can see its time for an overhaul of the club and the board started with getting in Noble to assure our place in the championship and by getting rid of matt.

I have every faith the board will get the right man to further progress the club!

Time for the board to put the facts where their mouths are? Time to tell the people the actual reasons we didnt get in to SL. Lets not hide behind the " The RFL wont let us publish the results" smokescreen. After everything that happened in the aftermath of the license decision they really need to go to lengths to quash rumours that our application looked like it had been put toghether by a 10 year old. They are allowed to do it, so lets see it.

You were missing a few influential players and just couldn't come up with the goods on the night , between the weather and one or two stupid plays ( Nash is a liability ) it wasn't your night , York fed off this and their confidence and determination grew as the second half went on

In truth you are in no worse a position than you were a few weeks back , to make the GF you were always going to have to win 3 on the bounce mostly away , that hasn't changed

If the rumours about Karl are true then next season should be interesting for you , plenty to look forward to as a Fax fan

I don`t want to see it unless I can see everyone elses , what is the point . The outburst by members of the board was because they thought our bid was as good as Wakeys so unless you see Wakeys as well it is a useless excersise .
Our Board will know the areas we need to smarten up on just as Wakey will know theirs but they will have the luxury of Super League money we will not.
There seems little point to me telling people we did not get in for certain failings if other Clubs don`t publish their failings too.
The Board have been trying to hold this Club together for years with no big money backer , I admire Michael Steele and Mike Riley immensly and I suspect there would have been many a time when it was easier to walk away. But they stick it out because they are fans and we should too, we`ve had a good 3 yrs and we`re not finished this season yet and when the season does finish we can draw a line under it . There are good things to look forward too next season and we will all have to help out again but there is no room for knee jerk reactions just because the team had a lousy game last night.The guys have had no coach for some time and the scratch coach was away last night too hardly the best of prep for any game I would think.

Thought your defence was poor when you played the Knights at your place, we scored an easy 38 points, I know you scored 76 but wev'e been poor all season you need to get rid of most of that team either too old or just not good enough, fat Franks sell by date is long gone.

Mate i am joking with the Fax fans, as makes me smile because they are now crap like Widnes.To be honest i like to see a winning team, and even though we are going up i hate the franchise system.I do not mind losing if some effort, but i feel some players have had a bad attitude in a Widnes shirt.

The Players i would definatly try and retain for next season are:

Penky, White, Greenwood, Worrincy, Fieldhouse, Aizue, Gannon ( if he has a year left as does go forward well ) Chandler.

Also i would have Nash back with s caveat in his contract that ( he must be here for pre-season as opposed to missing it from going home ) and also he must be Fit not FAT !!.

Agree with you on most of the above, would keep Bannister too. Also would let Miles go, he is not good enough.

Oh i think he is, Young fella with lots of Tallent, Had a horrible injury that has kept him out of the game for too long but getting back into it now. I think with the support of others around him and great coaching both him and fieldhouse could and really should excel.

Do you really think that the best bid by a championship club, with no financial backer, could beat even the worst super league club licence bid?

Yes, wakefield have spun a few lines about a stadium and gone into adminstration but look at it sensibly.

They are a full time club with a full time set up both on and off the pitch and in the office and have been for three years. They have a backer. They have a junior system with full player pathway that has been running with sky money for three years. It produces super league players. They have crowds double ours and can prove it. Their sponsorship portfolio will embarass ours. They probably have better corporate incomes than us, even in that shed of a stadium.

Of course Halifax won't release details of their bid. How embarrassing is it for them that the club expected to be kicked out beat them?

And maybe the RFL HAVE told Halifax to "toe the party line". How embarrassing is it for the RFL to let things slide to such a stage that the weakest in SL is still so much stronger than the strongest in the championship?

Can hardly blame the BOD for not getting involved in that c@@p to be honest, and fair play to them I say!

Imagine that in the board room -

"So if I invest my hard earned millions into the club, get everything in place, the club will be playing with the big boys and the club, and therfore me and my business get maximum exposure?"

"Er, well, not necessarily. It all depends upon if the RFL want us there, whether we've done everything or not!"

The ' investor ' we are courting at the moment , has more on his mind than just buying a money pit for ever , he is apparently investing several million in a ' youth zone ' in conjunction with Dave Whelan at Robin Park , he is a seriously rich man , I doubt he'd be happy to just have us bumping along in the Championship

Wether this is a deciding factor I don't know , but he has shown interest in purchasing a SL club in the past
