Bit of a let down from start to finish in every aspects of the day. Little things not being done right across the board from the club build up to making us look a tad embarrasing. There's about as much proffesionalism in this club as there is in my little finger.

Firstly pre-match, people not being allowed in car parks, no hunger hill parking availalble again, one turnstile open for adult resulting in massive and needless queues. As Waddy said, some band (who technically were good btw, well played them) singing some tinpot song the club has adopted for 10 minutes (and btw, 'the fax IS on fire' implys the town of Halifax is physically on fire..the word you're looking for is ARE when applying to a club/organisation, but never mind)

The crowd itself, 3,050ish, sounds good? wrong. With 700-800 Lethyers there, that meant just 2,300 Halifax fans turned up to the first game with the new East Stand. Another amazing feat of advertsing and marketing going on there it would appear. Aslong as someone keep posting a random blog to 500 fans who ALREADY go down every week, im sure the attendances will grow...

The match, well, no one looked bothered and everyone was expecting everyone else to do the work (minus Rob W and Shad really) they obvioulsy sit in that changing room, look around and think Black, Gene, Royston, Aizue, Penywicz etc, we can't lose, we just have to turn up. No urgency or desire for some reason. Nothing in terms of plays and options it would seem either. On 60 minutes i thought if Leigh were slighlty dangerous, they'd be putting 70 on us, perhaps harsh on Leigh who were still a very good side (bizarre considering they were pish last year and should be in Champsionship one...just an observation, not sounding bitter, i'd rather Leigh and their fans were visiting us than Gatehead). Good coaches count for a lot. And i still find it funny that people seem to have some hatred to Robbie Paul who has been running rings round us and organising teams to beat us for 13 years now or whatever.

Problem with the club at the moment is everyone seems to rely on each other. The club rely on a good team to get the gates up, if that doesn't happen there's no plan B. The coach relies on his purchases to do the job so he doesnt look bad, still lack of game play, and the players think they're all too good and think if they dont try another 'superstar' with sort it out anyway.

I never said anything like this last year as, even through the rough patch at the end, it seemed to late and pointless to get on the players back and they had had a good year, but this year, we could well be getting a lot worse being we get better and something needs doing soon because for some reason, as good as the first 3 results were this year, Halifax appear to let one result get to them, and that's it for 3 months, that's why something needs doing soon.

Good post Tommy, I just thought it was asking for it having that song played as we run out and the players even waited for the song to finish before kicking off, by all means play it before the game as part of the build up but not at 3pm with the players on the pitch waiting to kick off, just cheese.

So why was there 1 turnstyle open for adults if thats the case?

I also thought the band were good too.

New stand looked great, just a shame we didnt provide the onfield product to keep the coming for a nosey fans staying for the next home game.

I took the novelty option of sitting in our new stand today, but some of the BILE that was aimed at Calland, Hally & Gonzo was amongst the worst I've ever seen from a Halifax crowd, shameful comments.
I'm sure they don't ask players to miss tackles, pass to the ground & knock on, but then again I could be wrong.

Your whole style of play for the last 2 years has been based on speed , support and above all confidence , today we took that confidence away from you with a solid aggressive defence , hopefully when we get Nash back to fitness we will have the best , fastest , biggest set of props outside SL , they will provide us with a strong base to play some RL , and that is the key to so much in sport

Confidence , you could see it draining from the fax players today , that is now what Mr Calland has to get back , no team in any sport can play well all the time , you will pull things back again , perhaps you had become over confident

Every cloud has a silver lining

Well well well.

Absolutely appauling today, players looked tired and with no passion or commitment. We were out played by a well coached team who simply wanted it more.

Ben Black is clearly injured, so why are we playing him? His, and other player's confidence is low, but we have no 2nd or U21s team for him, or anyone to get dropped into to get that confidence back. Calland said today we had 17 fit players to pick from, well where is this youth that we are bringing through?? Oh yeah sorry, we signed 2 PNG kids didn't we.

Today was a big day for the club, the stand looks brilliant and the band were really good (highlight of the day for me!). Leigh brought a good following over, and it was a good crowd. Again, we have lined ourselves up and shot ourselves in the foot. It's a shame that the players in blue and white wanted to play hot potato rather than rugby league. Nobody took responisbility for driving the ball in and we kept going left to right across the field rather than going forward.

People can blast Penky, but I thought he had an alright game today. Yes the sin binning was stupid, but at least it showed that he actually has some fire in his belly which is more than can be said for other players.

Watene today was awful, I don't think we should have resigned him from last year, I'm sure there are other people who could do the development work in schools.

On the subject of Calland, I'm not usually someone who will have a go at coaches and say it's about time they should go. However, 2 awful performances, and a team of players who look as though they don't know what they are doing. He picked the best hooker in the league at half-back and put Beswick at hooker??!! Clueless. Also 2 and a half hours before kick off last week, instead of being with his players, Calland thinks its more important to go on a dog walk.

Rumours of course, flying around saying players out on the pop the night before the game, players falling out, players asking to be released from contracts. If they are true - then let them go.

I have watched Halifax through the bad times, and the even worse times. We will never stop watching them. Fans don't get annoyed at losing, fans get annoyed when the players are not playing for them, which is the case at the momment.

At the end of the day, the players, coaching staff and BOD are accountable to us, the fans. Get it sorted.

Absolutely hilarious, you were all crowing when you beat Widnes 2 weeks ago and when you got hammered at home not just beaten hammered, Leigh were just average....

Leigh played well today and for Fax - we've lost to two Championship 1 clubs in a row. Not good enough.

We weren't 'all' crowing

If you read this site often you will know a lot of honest fans have been concerned for nearly 2 years that we haven't grasped the basics of rugby. We haven't progressed and if truth be known if Celtic and Salford had not gone up our improvement would show nothing of significance.

Theres one thing you have the richest fans in RL. If i'd of paid £18 to get into an half built stand i would of at least stayed till the hour mark

Most of our fans commute from the City of London. Last train to Knightsbridge leaves at 4.15pm.

We beat Widnes and went through most of last season as a team of great individuals, the coaches make me cringe, aginst Widnes we should have gone for goal a few times and the coach should have been instructing that. We won and were lucky so it was never mentioned

When have you ever seen Hall or Calland on the touch line getting emotional ?

To be honest what the f**k does the football manger do for a job, the coach coaches sort of but what is a football manager ?????
