The latest:
Northern Rail fixtures will be released early next week
Championship fixtures might not be released until mid january
The reasons being that the RFL are awaiting sound assurances from clubs in "all three leagues" that they can meet their commitments" I guess this would mean Crusaders, Keighley and Wales United.

whether or not Wales have enough young players to make up a 2nd team wedged into the Championship, how the hell will they survive on im sure will be poor crowds.
A SL team struggled every 2nd week to get 2000 so how will a team of young lads, no "star" names etc get by week by week?

I meant the numbers of players that they quote playing RL in Wales cannot be proved either way and even if they were anywhere near the figures mentioned it is only a window at a certain time when they have been pumping money into sport and use RL as a cash cow.
It proved nowt, to me its the open age players that count as proof and how many amateur open age clubs play RL in Wales?? |

The football world cup starts on 11th June 2010, in South Africa.
The fixtures for this are released later this morning.
We start our next season in February 2010 and WE STILL do not know the fixtures.
I e-mailed the RFL last week to ask them when we can expect the fixtures being published. Guess what ?????? NO response.

A couple of other people on other forums have also stated mid-January. It does worry me a bit though that a team can 'made' and thrown in to the comp in about 6 weeks flat. Surely that's not enough time for sound planning? And what players are available at this time of year? |

Sad that a club potentially dying is, this could be good news for us as if they do put Widnes in SL (if thats what they are saying) then it would take away one of our main rivals for the next Licencing bid PLUS it also puts a nail in the coffin for a SL club in Wales and potentially a huge dent in any future plans for the expansion of RL into non RL areas.
Sorry Crusaders fans, well not that sorry being honest never agreed with you lot being in SL anyway, but a club growing organically and living within its means from Championship 1 - like London Skolars is the way forward.

No and neither can I prove that the figures quoted are untrue either.
Your point is that you question what I am saying so you accept the figures with 'blind faith' then???
I don't, PR is all about spin, I could go out if I had the money and get loads of kids to play a sport with the right marketing, its keeping them that is the hard part, Moms and Dads push their little Johnny or whatever to play sport when they are little and do things with them until they get to about 14 or 15, then they seem to stop as the kids want to play on their Wii or can't be bothered any more. |

| Blooming eck, its now the 10th December and we don't know who we are playing in any Friendlies, the Huddersfield one apart, NRC and Championship yet the pre-season starts in just over a month!
Great planning RFL, as others have said they have already sorted out who is playing who and where in the fotball World Cup next June!
This is quite frankly diabolical I was hoping I could sort out my summer holidays and a potential trip to Toulouse but am still in limbo!  |

I totally agree. Its an absolute disgrace. I have had to book an event for May next year. I had the opportunity to go for either Thursday or Saturday, without the fixture list i have just had to make a call and I have booked it for the Thursday. My luck will be that it will be a thursday game, but I had to miss the Saturday just in case its the Toulouse game.
I sent an e-mail to the RFL, via their "contact us" section of their web site, the week before last asking when we could expect them, guess what??????? No response whatsoever. |

What on earth is that all about, they know them now so why not tell us.
Perhaps the planning meeting went something like this.
Chairman: We now know that Neath will be in Championship 1 and we have the fixtures ready. We have kept everyone waiting long enough should we publish them today.
Chairmans lap dog: No french connection them, make wait another weekend.
Come on RFL I could be booking my summer holiday over the weekend, but now I cant because you refuse to let us know the fixtures....... B@stads
