I don't know how you can question his previous post it was aimed at the re-development of the stadium being for dual purpose.

Do you seriously believe that Calderdale Council would have committed 4.5 million to the Shay if only Halifax Town played there bearing in mind that, at the time, the football club were in serious danger of going out of business permanently? This is not a dig at the football club because it would have been exactly the same if the clubs' positions had been reversed.
To quote a poster on your forum:
"What I do give a toss about is that they sold their ground for millions, agreed to use that money to help fund the redevelopment of The Shay, failed to put in a penny which contributed to HTAFC's insolvency and then told the Council in the summer of 2008 that Fax are 'ready to take over the complete running of The Shay'."
How many total fallacies can he get into three and a bit lines?
1. If I remember correctly, Halifax RLFC's share from the sale of Thrum Hall was well under a million (600,000 springs to mind but I wouldn't swear to it) when it had been split between the cricket and bowling clubs as well. This was then swallowed up by the Inland Revenue.
2. As I understand it, the South Stand Lounge was kitted out by Halifax RLFC.
3. How much have Halifax Town put into the stadium in recent years other than from available grants?
3. How the hell did Halifax RLFC contribute in any way to Halifax Town's insolvency?
4. Fax did not say "who needs Halifax Town, we can run the stadium alone" as your fans like to infer. At a time when it looked as if the football club were going out of business the rugby club simply moved to assure it's worried fans that their business plan was robust enough to be able to run the stadium alone IF ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. What would you expect them to say? "If Halifax Town go bust we're up s**t creek"?
It really is about time that the more moronic FCHT supporters got some therapy for their paranoia before it consumes them entirely.

| Agreed, I have no interest in the football team due to what i read on here, seems they make a rod for their own back. It really is quite sad and I echo the word used "Paranoia".

If you follow fax why are you behind a plot trying to expose HRLFC's exposure to the CMBC for un-paid rent?
Its been made clear that such rumours can only effect the confidence of future creditors and sponsors, but you and your fellow FC town supporters are clearly on some crusade to achieve something, that something being of no value to both clubs.
Or am I missing something here, like the public have a right to know, cos I am sure they really give a as the monies will be so insignificant to effect anything!
But this is all ok cos your a fax fan

| Here's a hypothetical scenario for you
"Team A" and "Team B" play in a rented stadium
"Team A" pays let's say £40,000 rent per year and "Team B" pays £40,000 rent per year.
Now "Team A" goes bust and Reforms as "A Team" and "Team B" is still unchanged.
"A Team" goes to the management of the Stadium and says we can't pay the old rent, we're in a lower league and can't afford the rent as incomes will drop. So can we pay less.
"A Team" starts new season and much to the suprise of everyone charges £18 entrance fee as before to watch small town clubs play at the stadium. "Team B" gets miffed as "A Team" is charging more then "Team B" and paying less and now feels aggrieved.
"Team B" approaches stadium management and says, well if "A Team" can pay less with less overheads and higher per spectator income than us, why can't we pay the same and withholds payment until a settlement is reached with stadium management.
Now I'm not saying that this is the case in point but there may be a little truth in it!!! Should this be the case then it has no bearing on "A Team" and is between stadium management and "Team B".
I'm just glad I follow rugby and not the prima donna's of football. Where fans can mingle and apart from a few cases across the whole sport have a good day out without worry for their lives or their kids lives.

Lol, I guess I should have put the two clubs the other way round. Didn't fancy changing it after writing the whole thing out.
Although it would have had cries of protestations at being called "B Team" which would have been to close to home.

Here's another scenario;
NOBODY gives a flying f c u k about Team A & B's rent predicament!
Thats for the clubs directors and CMBC to lose sleep over.

| I see where your coming from here especialy as team A plays nearly 3 times more on the ground than team B so therefore enabling them to draw the income.Wheras team B when dropping down from the top tier carried on paying the same rent. One would need to question who was responsible for this.

| What's quite interesting is the word 'bubba' comes from the united states. It means the following
bub·ba (bb)
n. Slang
1. Chiefly Southern U.S. Brother.
2. A white working-class man of the southern United States, stereotypically regarded as uneducated and gregarious with his peers.
For those who are unsure of the word gregarious it means; [iTending to move in or form a group with others of the same kind[/i.
I find it an interesting choice of username.

| Jeez - the species of the Halifax Town fan really hasn't evolved. Darwin would be scratching his head but I can restore his faith in his own theory. To evolve you need light, you need the elements of change, you need a spark. The Town Fan hasn't had these three ingredients - ever. Like the very moribund creatures at the bottom of the deepest of Earth's oceans the darkness dictates the soul of the Town Fan. All they know is doom. All they know is failure. The contents of this thread and the contradictions of it's creator are borne out of this bleak history and let's face it - an even bleaker future.. Their existence is worthy of study but if we had to chart their evolution, sadly we'd have just finished drawing the Cro-Magnon man.

Many reports are filed about sightings of Cro-Magnon, the last being Feb 13th at the Shay!

| We had this exact same carry on last year and it was explained that Halifax RLFC pay its rent for the ground (which is more than the football club I may add) when it recieves its annual sponsorship money from Halifax Home Insurance so now I have reminded you of this go back to your pub football and leave us to get on with winning The Northern Rail cup, the Championship and a place back in super League.

do they actually own the round? NO
Do we actually owe [ithem [/imoney? NO
Is it any of their concern if we have or havent paid? NO
Are they just bitter & twisted that someone is now playing in a ground that they used to play in, someone who is more succesful & gets bigger crowds. YES!

| Bleedin' 'eck!!
Can't I have a weekend away on the razz without things going mammories-up?
I'd just like to say that this subject is still unsubstantiated rumour, and although the excerpt from the alleged, (yet to be scanned and posted), letter may say that HRLFC have refused permission to reveal any financial details it still does not say that they owe anything.
Quote ="Bubba"Halifax Football Club does not have any arrears on their account.
However, under the Freedom of Information Act, the Council has the right to refuse information to an applicant if an exemption applies. I believe in this case such an exemption applies and have decided to refuse the part of your request that relates to the Rugby Club.
The information you requested about Halifax Rugby Club is being withheld as it falls under the exemption section 43 (2) of the Freedom of Information Act. Section 43 (2) states that:
Information is exempt information if it’s disclosure under this act would, or would likely to, prejudice the commercial interests of any person (including the public authority holding it).'"
And the elaboration of the exemption section does not say that, either. It is only being implied, IMO, by the poster of this thread leading to the furore they have created.
Quote ="Bubba"
Notice under s17 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000
Calderdale Council hereby gives notice to Mr XXXXXXXXXXX under section 17 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 that the information requested on 18th January 2010 for details of arrears to the authority in respect of Halifax Rugby League Football Club, is exempt under the Freedom of Information Act.
The exemption which applies in this case is specified in section 43 (2) of the Freedom of Information Act in that section 43 (2) states that:
Information is exempt information if its disclosure under this Act would, or would be likely to, prejudice the commercial interests of any person (including the public authority holding it)
In accordance with the secretary of states code of practice we have consulted with Halifax Rugby Club regarding the effect of disclosure. The club has expressed the strong view that disclosure would prejudice their commercial and financial interests.
Whilst the Council acknowledges the significant public interest in financial transparency it considers that disclosure of the requested information would be likely to prejudice the Rugby Clubs position in respect of its reputation and the confidence of its customers, suppliers or investors.'"
Enough.
Locked.
