I have nothing personal against MC, I have never met the guy but I'm sure he gives 100% but something surely is lacking in his coaching skills. Almost since day one I have never felt his appointment was `right' A bit like JV at the footy club - it was just never meant to be! The way some MC supporters are saying give him time or the rest of the season to come good is almost beyond understanding. I am sure if you look at all the first class games MC has coached we have consistently leaked 25/30+ points per match, so what is happening now is nothing new. He has never in his time managed to sort out the teams from a defence point of view. Great attacking play but v poor at the other end. OK the team got to the GF and it was a great day out for all concerned. I suspect that a factor in the demise of MC is that other championships clubs (in comparison to us) made dramatic improvements in terms of playing resource, tactics etc in the last couple of seasons. This has contributed now to a very close and exciting league. For Halifax and the rest the gap has narrowed considerably making the coaches role even more difficult and demanding (probably the pivotal difference between winning and losing?)
I sense this is why his limitations are becoming more apparent and obvious. To say what is happening now is a blip is highly delusional. Also take with a pinch of salt contributors from other clubs who post messages who say stick with Calland!

Let's look at this objectively. Since we won in Toulouse, we have played 20 competitive games, won 9 and lost 11. That's a 45% success rate, which may have been considered okay had we been playing Super League teams. However, let's face it - there wasn't one of those twenty games which we should not have been capable of winning. If we can't win the next two games, there isn't a single credible argument for keeping Calland, other than perhaps "we can't afford to sack him" and even that is extremely debatable.

It's a bit unfair to pan every new member that expresses an opinion that's not in line with that of the consensus. If you don't like someone (or rather theor opinions) you can add them to your 'foe' list in control panel and you won't see their posts. Leave the rest to the mods.

I think 'The Dors' has offered some good advice. The 'foe' facility is the same as the old 'ignore' button and should be used as such.

Think yourselves lucky that you don't have to read every post on this forum. And, don't cast stones until you know for definite who you're throwing them at. I seem to remember, wereutherein1987?, that you complained enough when you first started posting on here about some of the flack you received because you were new. A bit of parity is required, methinks.

Was it because it was Easter Sunday and having a day off or just plain ignorant - would like to think the former but either way it's unnecessarily adding fuel to the fire and will hardly endear the courier to the club.

Well done to the Courier for "working" on Easter Sunday - considering there's naff all updates on their online site (save for a modest interview with Ostick).
