Also we have no information of who these 3 to 4 quality alternatives Huddersfield are, as you say it’s an “if”.

How can we say that’s how DR works, on a “if”, it’s just guessing at best, wishful thinking at worst that then becomes a point of criticism when that option may not even exist in the first place!

It’s then further reasoned that because we haven’t used these “if” players we should sack DR completely and concentrate on our own players but when we do, like for this fixture, several of them shouldn’t be anywhere near it and we’re going to get a 40 to 50 point tonking.

Featherstone did last season and came within 10 minutes of doing Toronto with all their advantages.....they did it with regularly using 4 super league standard players in their squad to bridge the gap in abilities within their squad.My view is we do the same or not use it at all.

I presume by King Kev you refer to Larroyer..?He was hardly dumped, as I understood it when Leigh didn’t make the top5 from the previous season Derek let a fair few players go to other Clubs or stay on reduced contracts ,Larroyer, Evans , and another player whose name I can’t think of refused both options and threatened court action, it was sensibly avoided when Larroyer signed for Fax , Evans went to Bradford I still can’t think of the other guy.
Derek however regained his appetite for Leigh because nobody was interested in buying his shares,at the end of last season he put a few pounds in to try to win the play offs including signing Kevin Brown, but it failed.
This season Derek has kept a low profile , let Duffy get on with the job ,and it’s paying dividends, I do predict we may enter the transfer market again IF we get into the top 5.I do hope this helps, as for myself?Hardly close season silence, I just don’t see Fax as one of our competitors for a top 5 spot this season.However you never know after your York victory.Im hoping for a good game , but after seeing our Squad it seems a very strong 17 will turn out..

Well insisting that there will be 4 SL standard players available every week isn’t how DR works.

Regardless, the coaching staff sit down and look at all the players available for selection any given week from their own squad, on DR and loan deals etc.

They then pick the strongest team from those.

Simple really and I can’t see why SG or any other coach would not do the same but it’s inferred that he leaves out better players and deliberately weakens the team, it just makes no sense to me.

No doubt in one of the pre or post match interviews SG will be asked the question, “why no DR this week” so I’ll wait and see what he says.

Aye, I'm not happy with what's going on at Fax but we've a wedding in Mexico in't Summer so we'll pick and chose matches to go to and hopefully the game in general comes to it's senses before it's too late.

Touched on before by Bentleyman and others Hudds the game will see some big changes, the Champ and Champ 1 clubs met just a couple of weeks back to start preliminary discussions.

Now moved to new thread, "big changes coming", keeps us occupied.

Fax more than capable of winning this one, but I think (we) Leigh will be victorious by 12 points.

Think that's a little harsh on some of those that you mentioned. Especially for Gilmore, Morris and Barber. Think Gilmore has had terrible luck with injuries. I think he is more than a competent halfback, Morris is one of those players that will get dismissed purely on his size but he consistently makes good meters and Barber for me is a very talented back-rower, good hands, his problem for me is his weight and fitness. Leigh is a good a team but they are not the team of recent years where they tonked everyone in the super 8's. They have good players but certainly beatable.

I don't notice him making a statement like that on this forum as it is, quite frankly, offensive!

Leigh are no world beaters and Fax could quite possibly go there today and win but...they have spent their brass on players whilst Fax have kept players who frankly are lucky to have been kept on another year. The thing is though games aren't won on paper and team spirit can take you a long way. It is Simon Grix's job to install that into the players and get the most out of them that he can.

He’s at Crufts today as a spaniel, could be a King Charles but more likely a Cocker.

His thorough bread is called Degsy and it’s main trick is brining dozens of rugby balls in and then dropping them and walking away when he gets bored.

The same players making the same mistakes, giving away the same penalties week on week.

Clearly displaying an inability to listen to their coach and change.

Be surprised if certain players are seen again in the team for a while.

That's the thing though, we can all see it from the stands so the coach must be able to see it but gives the same spiel in his interviews and then does the same thing the next game depsite talking about the definition of insanity. To go in at 14-10 down at half time despite the first 15 minutes and Leigh been a player down, to then end up dropping out from the kick off, giving numerous penalties and ended up 3 scores behind was just abysmal.
