| I knew attendances would drop with this ticketing policy farce. I may have popped down on the spur of the moment last night if prices on the gate were fair.
An urgent review or this policy is required. During the coming summer months, there are so many things a family can be doing on a Sunday. Things change at the last minute, which gives the chance for maybe a trip to the Shay. For a lot of people, that option is now too prohibitively expensive to consider. Only the die-hards are pre-paying, you HAVE to persuade the fairweathers on the day too.

| Quote ="Waddy-Fax"The club just don't seem to think things through at times. I hope we do beat Toulouse, I just can't see it with our lack of attack. Lets not get carried away by the Leigh result, Leigh are crap at the moment, =#FF0000everyone and his dog is beating Leigh. Head says we won't get within 30 points of Toulouse. Yes we beat them there last season but that team on paper was a lot better then this one and players like Murrell are a year older and lets be honest not in the same shape as last year which will effect things as he's our go too man.'"
Well, not every dog is beating us - we've won two games so far, both against Batley BULLDOGS. Every man might be beating us, but definitely not their dogs!

| Quote ="Waddy-Fax"Don't get me wrong I like Murrell but it's annoyed the hell out of me that he's come back in the shape he has, and seems to think it's a joke. This to me worryingly shows he maybe has more influence backroom then he should have. If I was the head coach and a player of his stature and importance came back out of shape I would question his loyalty or commitment to the overall team and to his own individual performances. Then to publicly mock himself on social media and TV about it is quite frankly mocking the fans who pay good money to watch the team and players be the best they can be.
This is still a professional league and you are still a professional sportsman. Whats worse is that he is the teams main man, the leader. =#FF0000His performances this season and kicking have been poor, no coincidence he's out of shape and his levels drop. Yes I know he's winding down his career but he is relied upon to influence the team, probably more then should be required.
Even a fit Murrell isn't the most mobile but at least give yourself a fighting chance. In any job if I came back in poor shape or didn't perform as I could due to restraints I had brought upon myself I would be disciplined. At the moment he's no more then a pivot, yes he talks and directs but at the cost of a player able to get on the end of things like breaks, or get through a break himself. I do feel at the moment he's very Rooneyesque in his contribution, the idea is far more sweet then the reality, and it's a shame as he does make a difference IF fit, at the moment he's not and it shows.'"
You would know this far better than I could, but to me, it seemed like he annihilated us, at 'Fax - and his kicking game was spot on, that day. (apart from the late chip into Hall's hands!) Think yourselves lucky you have your two halves, and not any of ours!

It's very easy to kick the ball into touch at end of each set when you've a 18+ lead as the Oldham 7 did last night. That doesn't neccessarily constitute a good kicking game.

| Personally I feel we should of played our full strength team against Oldham. If we lose at Toulouse which is likely way Toulouse are playing its been a bad week and a missed opportunity. We underestimated Oldham and got what we deserved.

Not just hindsight, after Leigh several people said it was important to keep a settled team with the new combinations.Bit cheated really as a cup tie with HKR would have been the high of what is going to be a depressing season.Hope that round isn't televised as we'd have probably got that too.

| Just got back and missed last nights game and can’t comment on the standard of play.
The result would suggest that the those who played weren’t good enough.
Listened to RM’s comments and he clearly thinks the league is more important than the cup and we wouldn’t have been able to back up on the weekend if we had fielded a full strength side.

Likely will be but not for the Oldham game because as you know being cup tied.
He obviously made the decision to rest a number of first team regulars with one eye on the Toulouse game and to give some of the younger lads from the reserves an opportunity against Oldham still believing they would be good enough on the night.
They weren’t and it didn’t work and he admitted it and takes responsibility, the Courier report covers it.
Doubt he will do it again on such a scale and taking fitness and form into account for league games team selection will be from established first teamers, loan players / DR players and reserve team players in that order.
Not saying it is right or wrong just answering the question.

But it still constitutes a kicking game - and it helped you to pin us back in our '22', for long stretches. And, believe me, it certainly constitutes more of a kicking game than we've seen at Leigh this past two seasons!

Having been a Leigh supporter for more years than I care to remember, one essential quality has been a sense of humour (much like you guys, I guess?) - although there hasn't been an awful lot to make us smile yet this season!!

| Oldham were doing to fax what widnes or hull kr were doing to fax starting a set in there 20 and by the 4th tackle been deep in the Halifax half. The defense was shocking, the game management was shocking still annoyed I went to watch that shower of ****.
Johnson tried the rest were poor. People have been rateing Brook but I can see why Keighley did not want him

| After waking up Wednesday morning I was pretty gobsmacked at the result, being many ooo's miles away I have to rely on what I read here or in the Courier online, for information,it sure makes dismal reading.
The knockers will be after R M's head if Fax lose on Saturday, but who else is out there to pick from?
As for picking players I cannot comment about Murrell and his fitness or lack of it, but it does seem he keeps things ticking over albeit at a pace that is geriatric, if you want someone else you have to give them time to bed in, which you won't as you want results now!
What has happened to Chester Butler, played for Wales in world Cup but can't get a game at Fax, although named in the 19 most weeks, he will be the next one away to better himself.
A sorry state at present, don t know if I am glad I cannot be there in person to witness it.

| A possible problem with the younger lads such as Chester is how often they get chance to play at any level.
The reserves league is so hit and miss with one game every "whatever" against "who ever" if your lucky, there's no structure or organisation to any of it.
These young lads show some early promise and the club brings them in but how can they fulfill their potential and progress to first team standard with only an odd reserve game once every blue moon.
It would be great all things being equal to have a fully functional reserve side playing in a fully functional reserves league but the facts are this is not the case.
Of the more promising lads who have come through the reserves it's well known we lost out with Nick Rawsthorne through internal dithering and of the others Luke Nelmes and Martyn Reilly left the club.
Not sure how much is being spent on the reserves but beginning to doubt in view of the above and other important matters if the investment is worth the return.

Yes, funding through volunteers, donations, sponsoring and a whole host of other initiatives.
From memory those that do all the work in collecting money didn't decide what to spend it on, that was left to the club and the club chose the reserve team.
Those that unselfishly do all the work for the love of the club would still do it if the club decided to spend it on some other area such as signing established first team players.
It's not free in that sense as the tens of thousands of pounds that have been raised and spent on the reserves could go directly to the first team now.
If it's so important to use every advantage such as loan and DR players to get the result against our nearest rivals, which ironically is often at the expense of reserve team players because there not yet good enough, then it seems inconsistent to run a reserve side when our rivals have largely stopped doing so especially when we are well behind the spending power of our main rivals.

Myself included, I have sponsered players and contributed and that’s what we are doing now, however after a week like this week I ask myself is it working?
Is anyone happy when we can’t field a full strength side and get the result against Oldham because if we do we might not get the result against Toulouse, that’s the reality.
Does anyone know how much has been spent on the reserve side since it was formed, over what period of time and who we have on the playing front good enough for first team rugby as a result as of now?
We are banking on the reserve team investment producing first team standard players maybe years down the line from a comp that has a game whenever the clubs can arrange something between themselves which more and more are pulling out of, sound investment?
