If they were I think the ref had more.
His arrogance not going to the VR was the gamebreaker for me.

We didn't lose that because of the ref. He made a few mistakes yes, but some of them favoured us.
Our lack of direction in attack and half-d defence by half the team cost us. Murrell was a passenger at times.
One positive was Brandon Douglas who hit and ran hard.
From looking at our fixtures, if we don't improve fast then we could go on a depressing losing run.

| Ref got calls wrong on both sides and the JWH 'try' was embarassing, probably revenge for the Greg White non-try in the earlier game.
Best team won but i'm already looking forward to the return game in Toulouse with a proper ref, it will be a cracker.

| He was a shocking ref but as has been said we just aren't good enough in certain positions and maybe the coach is one of them. How Worrincy continually gets selected is beyond me. Today was the best I have seen him play for a good while and he was shocking at times. Too many mistakes cost us and whilst Toulouse deserved the win it was a game we could have won.We desperately need a game breaker but they cost brass. Chisholm at bankrupt Bradford would have got us the points today. Anyroad Grady back next week and with a bit of luck who knows? Up The Fax. Three Pigeons, Ossett White Rat 5% Mmm!

| Think we're being unfair to toulouse tbh. They're a good side and will beat most of the teams in this league playing like that. we must improve our own game hoever to make the qualifiers. Imo it can be done but it just got that bit more difficult today. Keep the faith lads

| We just keep doing the same things week in week out, poor ball retention and penalties at crucial times.
It all leads to disruption and no fluency.
Apart from the loss it's hardly entertaining.

With respect mate, by 'doing the same things week in week out' Fax won their previous 7 games so it can't be that bad can it ? I was impressed by the way TO13 managed the game, something they weren't doing earlier in the season.

| Toulouse are a good team, reputedly with a bigger budget and some good players. Yes Tangatas' effort should have gone to screen, but JWH' prob not a try. Watching yesterday was virtually a repeat of Fev game, slow play the ball giving opposition time to be up and tackle us shutting down our options plus some poor decisions. We missed Grady, tough game for Douglas.more speed around the ruck to give more options.

| I think we got put in our place we are the 'best of the rest' and will most likely finish 5th due to not scoring enough points our scoring difference is way behind those above us, our only hope for 4th now is for Fev to have a bad run and it may hang on the game at their place?
Lets face it we are trying to compete with full time teams who have much bigger budgets, the lads tried hard we had a bit of an off day in defence yesterday which is normally our strongest area.

I agree that overall Toulouse were the better team but the ball going dead off their player without referral, Tangata's effort and their try a couple of minutes later turned the game. JWH's try was another joke but by then the game was long gone.
Could we have won, yes, did we deserve to win, probably not.
We show enough for small chunks of the games to push most teams all the way but indiscipline at the moment is costing us dear, and all the extra effort may cost us come the end of the season.

With respect I'm not just talking about just the result.
We usually get the results against the middle to lower table sides most of the time but the poor ball retention, high penalty and tackle count against us is still there and has been all season.
It continues to be a problem and against the better sides gets exposed and costs us the result
We have little fluency because of it and take the pressure from the opposition and put it on ourselves.
Watching games where self inflicted defending and tackling and constantly dropping the ball in attack is the routine is as frustrating as it comes for me because if we could just cut it out and do the basics right we would be firmly in the mix and be a good side to watch to boot.

| This will be the 3rd season on the bounce where we have scored less points than the teams around us, its not hard to see where the problem lies.
For me that was the game we could not afford to lose which leaves us having to go to London and win which would be a major shock. If we beat London the top 4 is back on but if we lose then the 2 point gap to Fev may as well be 4 points because of our points difference and with the games we have still to play we will not make it up.

Agreed. We saw yesterday what we have seen all season-too much spilt ball early in the tackle count and too many penalties to let teams off the hook. Mid and lower placed teams we get by with as they can't capitalise but better teams punish us as happened yesterday. Tolouse were good for their win and London won't be any easier next week as they also looked impressive against Fev.
I have always thought these two games would have a major bearing on our season and I'm afraid London is now a must win to keep in touch with the top four.

Good question.
I prefer to use the term who is responsible rather than who is to blame but it amounts to the same thing, "accountable" and the book stops with RM and I'm sure he will accept that.
I have been one of his strongest supporters all things considered such as who else was / is available and wanted him to have time to put his stamp on things.
I think he has been given that time or very close to it, and we are getting to the point where despite having a fair turn over of in's and out's on the playing front the vast majority who were either moved on or brought in by him we are making no progress and are in danger of stagnating.
If it was me I would give myself to the end of the season to get it together or seriously consider moving on.

Your probably right but if I felt I wasn't making sufficient progress or doing a good enough job then I would think long and hard about keeping doing it.
I don't know all the facts about what he has available to do the job, maybe all considered he could be doing well but we haven't won anything and don't look like doing so.

| RM is doing his best to get every ounce out of these lads, the simple fact is other teams have moved on, and we haven't been able to afford to in the areas we need to.
Muzza' legs have gone, not going, gone.... we are a little better with Grady and Kaye in, but ultimately unless our pack is steam rolling a side, and we are backing up, were on a hiding to nothing.
I will back RM all the way, and so should we all.
If we can squeeze a couple of inspired games from Muzza, and Johnno and Rob can keep hold of the ball, and offer us credit in attack, we can sneak into the 4 still, but my worry is we now need another club to capitulate, through injuries or disharmony.
Richard is probably more aware than any of us on the areas we need to improve, but we have what we have.
If we could get a month out of AOB that would be a massive tonic.

Mirrors my thoughts. The team have the motivation and energy, but not the skills to make it count. Toulouse were out on their feet in the 2nd half, but we didn't have the guile/skill to take advantage. We can't really blame RM for his recruitment, given the limited funding. What we need is another Martin Hall, who can root out class players willing to give it a go with Fax.
Btw, I still don't understand why the guy with a pair of the biggest hands in RL can't keep hold of the ball? Losing it in the tackle has to be down to technique surely? It's a love/hate thing with Rob!
Btw #2. Muzza might not have a turn of speed on him (a shame, because he can spot a gap better than most in our team), but we need to find a replacement in the motivation and leadership department if he goes. From what I've observed, Mitch might be the man for the job? Maybe Muzza could be the new Martin Hall!!?
Btw #3. Jonno. How frustrating. Great grubber kick on him, but he should be turning into a new Rob Burrow by now. He could be a great player, but needs some serious mentoring to make it happen.
Btw #4. James Woodburn-Hall. He also can be a great player, hopefully for Fax, but does need to learn some positional play on defence (being kind!).
Btw #5. Will Sharp. How hard does he try to make things happen? He's maybe lost a yard of pace (unfortunately), but if the rest of the team had his enthusiasm and commitment we wouldn't go far wrong.
Btw #6. Ben Heaton. Oh Ben, where has that leg drive gone from a couple of seasons ago when you were 5 yards from the line?

| We are not quite good enough for top 4 by this game. Woodburn Hall although a good prospect looked a little out of his depth in this game. Muzza went missing and his kicking wasn't up to standard. That been said Toulouse look a good side and wont drop many points on this showing.

| Realistically, the top four will come from the current top five. You're the favourites to drop out at present but, on the other hand, you've only two points to make up over eight games.
Not an impossible target.
