Hi Swifty , hope you are well?I agree with your opinion about the Fev player, but 2 wrongs don't make a right, my view was Tangata charged in and had a go ,I'm not sure who the Fev player was ,but I expected this incident to Marr what was a very good game, it didn't, and from a neutral view games like these make fans want more , with me today was 4 others from Leigh and we all enjoyed the game,and will return for more .

Well that was much better than most of us expected a poor start which made us think it was going to be a long afternoon but the lads dug in and got their noses in front only to make some silly decisions with the ball that cost us, Rob had a bit of a nightmare I hope he makes up for it next week at Batley! Good atmosphere the fax fans were pretty vocal despite the intimidation of the Fev lot next to us, still not sure that was a good idea. Better crowd than I expected too so all in all came away feeling much more positive about our season but realistic to know we still have some weaknesses like fullback and half back.

Really proud of the lads yesterday, they all gave 100% and that's what really matters to me. OK the ref got a few calls wrong but that happens, you win some and you lose some. We lost Fluff and BK but we never gave in and made a few mistakes on the way. I think we will be alright this season if that same attitude continues.

Robin. This will be typical of a lot of the games this season, across the division it's the toughest for years.It will be no surprise for us to be involved in several close games and we may lose a few but it won't be because of lack of commitment from any one at the club.
There are a lot of strong sides who are all wanting to win, supporters, players directors of every club want to win.

Referees decisions do affect games. I'm not sure how much jimmy got wrong yesterday or how much if at all, he affected the result.
I go back to last season at our gaff. Both sides encroaching on the ten most of the second half. The ref picked a game changing decision to pull fev for offside when both teams had previously been taking the pizz.
Brown stuff happens.
Yesterday was a bloody cracking advert for rugby at our level with all 3 results possible until the last few seconds.
At 14-0 I was relaxed and in for an avalanche.
Fax came back and had a reight dig...
The feight was owt n nowt..... its rugby.... sometimes it gets a little frisky!

Fair enough assessment for me.How we went in at only 16-10 is beyond me.We looked unfit,slow,no attacking ideas,falling off tackles etc but second half was classic entertainment which in the end we could have won.

think he would have gone to video ref for 2nd fev try if SL. looked as if lost control on grounding. await video. great advert for the game though.

Yeah we said the ball popped out but I would expect him to ground it simultaneous after that. Although I cant remember in the rules if that is classed as a knock or not.

Has to be daylight for a knock on. IMO there wasn't..all irrelevant now anyway.

Could of gone our way today and the game was ours to win. Not much in it between both teams. Unfortunately we find it difficult to close games out. Instead of passing it when we don't need to just run from dummy half and kick for territory. Grady showed up well.

In truth more than a little worried worried at times Charlie, it was a great for the neutral am sure and a game that could have gone either way, I think Fax will go well if they can avoid too many injuries based on that performance, still hope to see you Friday go.

On the video it looks fine to be honest. A few of the other crucial decisions went against us though. The worst one is probably the one where Salty got panalised with the ball after what is a very clear grapple tackle, the defender even managing to lift him clear of the ground. Obviously thats a game changer at that stage of the game. The Johnno no try also looks like a try as well. We just need to be a bit smarter at times but that is a problem that dogged us all last season. Still if the doom mongers think our team will be somewhere near relegation then im afraid they may be disappointed.

Of course, chelpin back at ref is always going to help isn't GFB....

Dodgy calls happen. Fax bleating this week mirrors the fixture at our last year when we copped one....
Move on. Address issues.... cos if your coach only focusses on a dodgy call (which I know he won't) it'll be 0-2 come Sunday tea time.....

To be fair Id be chirping at the ref if someone tried to take my head off and then was rubbing his hand in my face on the floor. I dont blame the player one little bit in that incident. I guess the only difference with the decision at yours was that Davies was clearly offside and it was the correct call.

Agree with all this but the WORST decision Childs gave was the penalty under our posts at 26-24,absolute fecking disgrace.

Could do with getting the left side defence sorted out shipping a few points on that side and not only last Sunday.
If we moved Rob across he could be blamed for that as well, just a thought.

Don't worry when Will Sharpe comes back for the Sheffield game he can get some stick as well like he did start of last year!!!!
Agree re left edge though looked suspect I'm afraid at times.

Pottsy, Wayne Rettie, Alex Brown as well, it seems Fax wingers all have bad days or worse.

Problem is opposition coaches obviously take care of their own side first and then look for weaknesses in the opposition and Fev have sussed out a couple of them.

When closer to the line or say 25 out Fev played a quick play the ball and running game targeting Johnno and Salty and ran straight over the top of them, if you watch the highlights and keep an eye out for that it becomes more obvious.

When further out they put the ball up either central or left to Rob and we all know why.
