The Championship next year will be a very competitive league with HKR and Toulouse competing, I think Toulouse will be very hard to beat in France and be a good team away, HKR will be striving to finish top and teams like Bradford, Fev,Batley, Sheff ,even Dews will be hard to beat, Fax can't afford to watch the RL world go by,they must compete or be overtaken.
Grady is a big unit but not fast, a bit like Pryce from Dews,I was hoping to see a couple of experienced signings to take Fax forward next season, for Rich to do a job he needs decent tools,with the current squad he hasn't got them,pity as a strong Fax is needed in any League.

Hooli ,why people think Grady is a quality signing is beyond me, he did nothing at Widnes which is why they released him,and did OK at Dews, but his tries to games ratio isn't good, as I said he is a big lad though.

From what I've read I thought we'd signed him as a forward who gives us a centre option. Having said that I think I'd prefer him to play 3 or 4 over a couple of our current centres.

Everything has to be viewed in perspective which in our case is who we can afford from who is available and from them who really wants to come to the club.
With the above in mind Grady comes from a good background and he had other options but chose Fax.
Maybe centre was not his best position and that's why the club see him more as a second row who can cover at centre.

He's a big lad, and we need a bit more "grunt" on the pitch with the likes of Richard Moore leaving. Unfortunately, we don't seem to be able to get any players with real pace in the backs - Rob returning apart. I thought that Potts never had a proper crack at things - he was one that did have a good turn of speed, in the Mark Preston mould.

Tbh, we need to get the spirit of 2015 back, when all the players were enthused and working for each other. We were (on the whole) so very flat this year. A team of motivated and fit players who are working as a unit can achieve an awful lot in this game...

I am banking on the smaller squad being close as a group backed up by the young lads from the reserves who can play a bit and their enthusiasm to get us some results where we fell short in 2016.
Just hope we can keep the reserve side in place.
There are a couple of sides that will start as favourites but the rest are pretty close and not only Fax are finding it tough.

Apparently according to the League Weekley , the Fax players have been asked to accept a 10% pay cut next season to avoid future cash problems,hopefully things can be sorted.

More depressing news..it seems we took top 4 for granted,which is rank bad management .

I have been saying for some time that the club is experiencing financial problems, and attempting to hide the size of the problem. No one at the club will comment on anything officially or give any resaurance to say I'm wrong. I simply don't know who is running the club and to me it looks like we are heading in the same direction as we were in 2006, the last time we almost went bust, and the old Board were thrown out...apart from one member, who is still present.

To add to this we are now being asked to buy season tickets, with uncertainty about the South stand and clearly a squad recruitment list that indicates we will struggle considerably next season in a tough and uncompromising league. There isn't a single player that excites me, although there are a few I know will work very hard for team and some youngsters who MAY prove ok as time goes on.

I am sorry but whilst I know I am never happy this all looks very unsatisfactory to a simple fan.

Ominous signs, the reports about wages, shutting parts of the ground, coaches gone. We really did bank on top 4 and expect it eh?

Difficult season maybe ? unless the youngsters really step up we're looking at a relegation battle.Is Simon Grix playing on next year ? don't think there was anything in the millionaire rumour or if there was it didn't happen.

Swinton have signed Matt Sarsfield and Jack Murphy,I think they could be a surprise package next season.

You know, it must be hard to run a club like Fax. No tangible assets to borrow against or sell onto someone more ambitious. Just debt and the hope that you might sneak into the top 4. Whilst assuring fans that growth and Super League is the future. Must be soul destroying!
