Actually I enjoyed last season,and 2 of my best games I attended ,we lost,London and Fax away really great days out,I always enjoy the day out,the result is a Bonus,I can't wait for next season and think there will be some great games.

What say I? Well Mr Caroli for a start it seems King Degsy is not happy with your local businesses,as he says they are letting Leigh down by not Sponsoring them and Leigh fans should only patronise Public Houses and other businesses that sponsor Leigh

I don't think Derek understands the concept of value for money. It his brass I guess but spending £1.3m in the Championship is just plain dumb.

I guess he sees it as an investment, to get out of the Championship, to where the 'real money' is?

Totally agree, I think this coming season will be tough, and damned exciting, with a few results that people probably aren't expecting. I think most teams will drop points, it will be the ones that don't drop the silly points that will come out on top though I do expect you guys to be up there if your new signings click.

I'd say that was true under the old format but now I am not so sure. There was no need to spend that sort of money in order to be the best club in the Championship but when you have to be better than some SL teams in order to win promotion I think you need to be spending at least a comparable amount to what they are. Going FT for a start immediately ramps your costs up massively.

Wakefield were the obvious 'weak' link last year but they look to have improved quite a bit since then with some good signings and I think anyone wanting to go up needs to improve just as much to stand a chance.

The problem obviously is that if we don't go up then the costs are very high for a team with Championship funding, income, attendances etc but I think it is a chance we need to take whilst we have somebody in charge who can afford to do so.

Just need to be careful that it's not promotion at all costs, we've all seen how that ends.

Its certainly not sustainable for a club just to have 1 person pumping in all the money and really it boils down to how long they want to do it for or more likely in DB case how long he can afford to.

of course he'll rip teams to shreds but they know the price to pay if he messes them around (bigger burden now if they fail in 2016) but think they are def gonna be the team to beat again if we're all honest

Chase is either spectacular or awful in the games I have seen of him. His kicking game is not the best, but on his day magical.

Very good Ian but......It's no laughing matter that Leigh are blatantly breaking the salary cap. Why should the rest of the Championship teams start the season at a disadvantage? It's Barrow all over again and are we going to sit back and watch it happen? I would like to hear what our club has to say on the subject. Bradshaw Bellringer?

Are we? We have let a lot more players go than we have brought in. Gone from a squad of 30 to around 24. Reducing in quantity and improving in quality has probably left us at a similar cap level to last season before bringing in Chase.
Rangi was obviously going to be a struggle, hence the large delay in signing, but the new ruling yesterday gives us an extra £300,000 of cap space to spend. More than enough to cover Rangi with plenty room to spare.

It was only a few years ago when Fev were top of the pile and ruled the league. They had the likes of Stu Dickens, Kyle Briggs, Liam Finn, Andy Kain, Tony Tonks etc etc. That was when the Salary Cap in the Championship was just £300,000 and they built a side that dominated the league. The salary cap then went up to £1million and now another £300k has just been added on top of that! More than 4 times the amount that Fev were allowed to spend when they were top dogs.

Even with the added expense of going full time Leigh managed to keep to or under the £1million cap last year as did Bradford and London. Streamlining the squad will help keep costs down and now we have an extra £300k to play with. If Fev built a full multi-title winning squad for £300k I am sure we can afford to bring in 1 player for a lot lot less. I think we were borderline under the old cap but under this new system we should have plenty of room.

£1.3 million on a 25 man squad means we would have to be paying each player £52,000 on AVERAGE to hit full cap. Not a chance in the world that our average wage is even close to that. No chance, none, nada.

Whats all this, 'its not fair on everyone else'? No one is stopping the others playing to the new SC rules, however it seems some want to cap ambition to the point of killing our game.

It just shows that people would rather moan than look at he facts, last year a large proportion of opinion was that there would be no promotion because teams could not compete on a level financial playing field come the middle 8's, this proved to be correct.

This year the RFL have brought in a salary cap increase applicable to ALL clubs, for the benefit of ALL the clubs voted for by ALL the clubs.

Halifax voted for this as did Leigh, Bradford & all the rest, why do you think Sheffield are going FT? how do you think Fax can give upgraded contracts to their players and bring quality players in on top? the answer is EXTRA money from the RFL and investment.

Without all these things coming together fans would not be able to watch their teams.

Love him or hate him Beaumont puts his money were his big mouth is and his players love him for it. You cant knock him for that.

I have spent years playing in the championship and behind closed doors 99% of the players are mates, NOBODY is on anything like the money the average fan thinks.

It is nearly impossible to break the cap.
