Yes at times it has been hairy, but if you feel intimidated, laugh it off, I have been to every away game at Fev for many years.
I felt more intimidated at Donny this year for the double header, some Bullsheits came and sat next to us during our game and were so offensive that I was ready to smash one or two of them, until I saw the size of one of them. God she was big, mind you all Shebullets are!



As I have said I am struggling to make this game, but all the moronic comments coming from Fax "supporters" are making me trying very hard to alter arrangements.

Having read this topic and seeing both sides I would like to add my personal experience of Fev incidents that have made my mind up on this topic. In the 70's there was a culture of fans charging all the way around stadiums called 'steam rolling' This happened at Thrum Hall scoreboard end , on the bottom stand to scratching shed. As a child I was stood there with my Dad and both of us were physically battered. In the 80's I was spat on at post Office Road along with many other Fax supporters. In the 90's I took my young son to Post office Road and we were verbally abused outside the ground for wearing Fax colours. But the most telling thing for me was being in that Warrington Coach park stood over David Singer laid on the floor in a pool of blood-unsure if he was still alive after a game of rugby. Our coach driver witnessed the incident, the coach that these Fev 'fans' got on, he told the police yet years after these people are still at large whilst David Singer's life , and that of his parents, has changed forever.I am sure that all clubs have idiots, including ours, but just too many incidents with this club for me and Mrs LTD to run the risk of being involved in yet another.I sincerely hope that the game is a great one on Saturday and everybody behaves themselves.

I know we are all wanting to move on and I did boycott POR for a while myself but that's a bit strong calling people 'moronic' for raising concerns over going to Fev, I for one will NEVER forget those 2 games and the incidents when it kicked off, I was next to the fighting at the NRC semi final trying to plead sanity with my fellow Fax fans who were attacked reminding them of Dave and it was the worst violence I have ever seen at a RL game so this won't go away very easily plus getting called a w*nker by a Fev fan when I said to him they should sort out their fans when walking to the supporters coach afterwards which just finished the night off!
Lets hope all goes well but until we come away from Fev after a win without any trouble the jury is still out for me, so far we have lost most games since!

Played 9 for 36 years and still have the odd game at 47, I have no doubt I wont of endured to some because of my typing style, but that comes out of frustration at stupidity I read of some people. iv been watching Rovers for 40 years seen leeds Utd all over Europe done a few world cups with England and I can tell you with 100% certainty there wont be any trouble Sat, no one will get attacked everyone will go home safe and sound. Featherstone is one of those places that if you go looking for trouble you WILL find it every single time without fail. fans going to watch there team have a drink not wanting any hassle will get that as well. Im not getting into past events and I really think postings such as on this thread regards problems don't help matters at all

i've never had a problem at POR personally, apart from the fact our record their in recent years hasn't been the best

I'll be there on Saturday, and wearing blue 'n' white. I stood behind the posts last season, and enjoyed some friendly banter with the Fev fans there. Just as it should be.

I've no doubt that the "w@nky w@nky Halifax" chant will start up from the side stand as it always does, which is a bit sad really. If they could stick to just supporting their own team (with their undoubted passion and loyalty), it would be better for everyone.

If anyone feels uncomfortable or intimidated at any point (this can happen anywhere), it's really simple. Don't react and just move away.

Should be a cracker, and a game Fax need to win.

its only young kids singing it, and come on its not that bad a chant, the word would be very tame in any primary school playground. Come and support your team there wont be any problems

Ian, I've been to POR many times and enjoyed the day without any hassle whatsoever. Weve been to youth tournaments when my lad has played there, great days out meeting good RL people. As you say there are many good Fev suppoorters but....well this forum is about the game so next time we meet I will enlighten you as to my reasons for not going to this particular fixture, my last word on this topic. Anyroad a massive game tomorrow and I think if we don't get the two points its season over for us more or less so here's hoping we finally do the 80 minutes and get the result we badly need. Up The Fax!

The trouble in 2011 was the worst I have seen in RL not many were there so many have no idea! However since then there has been no problems and I cannot see things been a problem this time relations have improved significantly since then. Lets enjoy the game and get a rare win v Fev in the league we definately owe them one!
