Well my old pal Bubba won't be going he tells me. He's adamant a sale won't go through regardless of what mr Abbott or Reactiv media come up with.

Anyone would think it was the football clubs' stadium listening to some of 'em rattle on, merely tenants in a council run building as are the RL club as far as i understand.

Well that`s exactly it isn`t it ? One of them was banging on and giving one of the reasons they didn`t want TA buying the stadium was... because what happens if they let the rugby lads practise on the pitch and also let the under 20s play on it as well. Thing is how many people does Bubba's Halifax Town Supporters Trust actually represent? Not many I am sure.
Yet the Courier make out he represents all Halifax Town fans, I don't think so democratically wise anyway plus the Halifax Town Supporters Club whose spokesperson is Kit Walton are the bigger organisation although they are also against Reactiv taking over the stadium.
This protection by listing it as a community asset means that the Halifax Town Supporters Trust have time to look at taking over the Shay but how can such a small organisation with no money do that? Come on Bubba it is dead in the water - no chance.

What was even more worrying was the fact that in his origional letter to the council he actually spoke for the Rugby Trust as well without even asking them for their stance on the matter.He has secured the Shay as a community asset so it gives them 6 months to come up with a counter offer to buy but yet apears to be trying to bump up the price by telling councilors they are selling too cheap . Strange one that given that after his last fiasco of taking on the new owners of the Town Club left him isolated and with egg on his face.

I personally think that the ACV is great because, although it puts a 6 month delay on any sale, it also reduces the possible sale price. The only buyer who would be interested in paying the full site value now would be a developer whereas, with the ACV, they wouldn't be interested. So the only potential buyer would be someone who genuinely wants to run it as a stadium. That leaves just TA/Reactiv at present. I await with due trepidation a counter bid from either FCHT/Bosomworth or BMC (Bubba's Mottley Crew).

Bubba once again shows that he is only interested in his thoughts and opinions. Bubba started this witchhunt and helped others to jump on his bandwagon and publicly abuse Tony and even call in to question his reputation and charity work. Bubba is so far stuck up his own backside its untrue. Doesnt surprise me that this idiot wont attend to hear what Tony has to say. Bubba has his mind made up no matter what.

The Clowns with Bubba have made a big song and dance about this yet now decide they dont want to hear what he says. For me if I was so concerned I would look to ask Tony certain questions and what Guarentees he would look to put in so my club would never be forced out. The Shay is not that important and is just a stadium. If the worst came and the shay went it would not be the end of either club. Life would be much harder but another stadium could be built or even for a while play out of the area at Rochdale or something. The hysteria created by the Clowns on Shaymen.net is typical of them not understanding things and when there is the chance to put forward their concerns dont want to know. All they have in their little minds is The Shay must stay in the hands of a COuncil who has no money

Yes that was partly my point they get the ACV on it which does in effect make it cheaper but yet they are arguing that the council is selling it too cheap and are saying it should be worth 5 million .I just hope that Bubba and his cronies have got deep pockets but they all must have the money because I don`t think they have started fund raising yet.

As I said, I really want to hear what TA says before I make a judgement, like most Fax and Town fans I suspect. I'm also wary of the actions of these few desperate individuals opening the door of the shay to someone who neither clubs, nor the town, wants in charge.

There is a small piece of me that wants TA to land the shay regardless to see their reaction.

Town fans are for the most part a bit slow. Any idiot(apart from Bubba) could see that although the ACV sounds good it puts them in a worse position than they were already in. The council now have the perfect excuse to get rid of the stadium and seen as though there will be one and only one bidder may as get it over with sooner or later.

The Shay is vital to both clubs as it is the only place both can play in the whole of Halifax & Calderdale plus to buy the land and build a new stadium is not an option as firstly there is nowhere suitable plus neither club have that sort of money as it would not come cheap. Look at Oldham RLFC if you want a good example of why you stay where you are!
Can people get it in their heads that politically and planning wise the Shay is now an established sports stadium and is allocated as open space in the planning document called the Replacement Unitary Development Plan which is set in law! There are other sites in town which would be developed before any business would take a look at the Shay plus you may have noticed the retails sector aint doing very well right now anyway.

They are but there's no great panic about HXRL's figures. It's not like they're kerzillions in debt like some SL clubs.

As well as that HXRLFC is now many years old as a company and over time like in all sports clubs, directors will put money in to the club, money that they wont expect to get back but will be classed as loans. If the club was only a year old and were showing the same figures then i would be quite worried. As it is the club really isnt in that bad shape and unlike Halifax Town has not had to go down the route of writing off historical debt by going in to liquidation.

So yes on the face of it FC Halifax Town are in a good position, it has to be remembered that quite recently they had to write off millions of pounds worth of debt and a lot of companies suffered because of this so Town fans taking the hollier than though stance would do well to remember that.

Debt is not a worry if no-one's collecting it.

Some numbers are big. Some are small.

Apparently Abbot is painting the rosiest picture you could ever imagine.

He could put £20k in every Town fan's pocket and they'd still slag him off.

I'm still not decided - one thing though, do either club need a stadium as big as the one in artist's drawing and is a mortgage on the ground a good idea - not exactly man united are either clubs eh?

Thankfully NOT. Manure are millions in debt as are most "top" football clubs.

We shouldn't be restricted by mediocrity. There is a risk with TA's plans. There is also a risk that a massive comet will hurtle towards Bubba's house. Town fans think that risk is removed when a stadium is controlled by a council.

If the council turn this down they'll face the wrath of an electorate who have grown tired of paying for The Shay. If they turn it down they'll basically have to come out and say " We don't trust TA".

Anyway, apparently Bubba has found another spanner to jam into the Reactiv fun bus spokes - he's citing an EU directive. The General Disposal Consent legislation. EU rules dictate that the Council cannot sell a public asset for under its value to a commercial entity".
