I dont think it will be easy with Leigh and Batley looking to improve. We will probably make the top 4 but I think we should be making the top 2 but we will have to make a significant improvement imo for that to happen. Season is way off though.

I always remember thumping A Gary Thornton coached Batley 72-4 or something. He left that week and I remember seeing batley fans saying they feared the worst and talking of no way back, they won the NRC the following season and look at them now! Was very surprised he managed to get another head coaches job.

We have a good pack, it leaves a good platform for these players to work on. Let's see what they can do!

Don't know much about Ben Johnston but can remember Simon Brown having a stormer against us at Bramall Lane a ccouple of years ago. Here's hoping.

Nothing would please me more than players proving me wrong and us finishing in the top 2 next season.

Negative opinions never go down well on this board but I dont think people should be afraid to give them because of fear of any backlash. I will always speak my mind, one look at my posts over the years will tell you that but for every negative post you will also find a positive post saying the team played well or the club did this well.

Again this is only my opinion, some will share it and some wont, but even a few games in to the season it was clear where our problems lay. I gave my opinion on that before the season started and was shot down been told how good young Ashall and Holden were and how we would be a better team without Penky. Been proved right on that one didnt please me because it meant that come the end of the season we didnt get to go to one final.

It were obvious and everyone knew it so the coaching staff should have been doing what they could to make sure we were set with a 6/7/9 of top quality from a very early stage in the season. This may have gone on who knows, obviously we were restricted on that because of the clubs refusal to bring in loan players or foreign players so the best available could be missed anyway.

Finn and Ridyard were obviously first choices but to me it almost seems as though as soon as the deal for Finn broke down we were forced in to a panic buy in Brown. I just cant see there not been a better player available somewhere who a SL team would not be willing to release on a season long loan or an Aussie who would be willing to come over here for a chance.

For me we have the best pack in the league and not a bad set of backs(obviously short of any confidence as every bit of flair is coached out of them) but with a good hooker and half back pairing this season Im pretty sure we would have won the league. Those are the only positions we need big improvement in and obviously that is what KH is trying to do but it does not fill me with confidence when a coach says he wants about 6 or 7 options for 3 positions because that tells me he didnt get the players he wanted and he is hoping to get lucky. I mean if we signed say Finn, Ellis and a quality scrum half then he wouldnt say he wanted those options would he?

I did forget to mention that Johnston was rated as better than Ryan Brierley for quite some time and Cas kept him while letting Brierley move.

Its only fair to add that I dont rate Brierley though.

KH needs to realise that chopping and changing the team every two games does not work.

In my opinion which may not be worth much I am very pleased with these two signings. One grand final winer who Sheffield Did not want to lose and a young lad who sounds exiting

All this negativity about new signings, of course we all want to see big names arrive to play for us.

(Imaginary scenario) Has anyone stopped to think, maybe the club is in negotiations with a big name and he is undecided, he comes on here and reads all the comments about new signings. Would it sway him towards signing or opting to walk away and sign elsewhere?

The current squad are always saying what a great set of fans we are, so let's prove them right and be more supportive of incoming signings. At least give them a chance to prove themselves.

Thing is half backs are hard to find and good ones especially as they are key to most teams doing well. We have got two who with a decent pack should do well and our pack is one of the best in our league come on.

The players will go where the money is. Thinking what a few fans post on an internet forum will influence them is absurd. I do at times think that some people on here are deluded..........but I do welcome their opinions.
