Like littlerich says, he knows feck all. He still hasnt got over the fact that Fev offered both Tonks and Barlow a significant amount of money more than Fax did yet both of them turned them down. I guess he could spin it off as Fev trying to up our offers to get us to waste money but he obviously knows that didnt happen.

The Barlow deal I don't know the finer details of, BUT, I do know the incremental offers made to Sam at which Fax kept up with to a point which was good for Sam and he signed. We didn't get him. C'est la vie. But the cost to fax was significantly more than would have been shelled out had Mark not 'upped' the bidding. It happens.

The Tonka deal then, well the best thing is ....ask him!

..... and I'm quite well aware of his committment to the prison service. Daryl has a policy of train every session or NO PLAY, and he's strict on that as some players have found out. Karl is quite happy to 'help' him with fitting in with a job that requires a shft pattern and so was happy with the deal that Fax offered him. But this was again after Mark 'upped' the game which affected the final price.
Yes they both signed for Fax for less than Fev offered them.
I'm exceptionally happy with how things have turned out. If you're happy re things at Fax then that's just tickety boo! Everybody's happy!!!

Mark Campbell keeps telling his posse that he out-thought Halifax on those signings, but he almost crapped a Drax cooling tower sized turd when someone told him Liam Finn was "being tapped up" in the run up to the NRC final, the usual angry tantrums were thrown by him and of course his coach (at the final whistle) the fact was, he was spooked by the Finny-gate stories which were effectively created by supporters on both sides of the fence gossipping in cup final week. Yes it worked for us that week, c'est la vie....

Some of the figures & contract details are ridiculous & i find it very unprofessional for club officials whoever they maybe for revealing such details in public, they know which sponsors & which supporters to reveal their dirty work to & it's all garbage fuelled on being a poor loser in the case of Tonks & Barlow not signing for Fev on this occassion.

I really am losing interest in all of this unless promotion & relegation is re-instated, that's the only reward as far as i'm concerned. Putting clubs on standby in case a SL club cannot fulfill it's fixtures does not represent promotion & relegation, it's a cover up for inadequecies.

Well, some of it is, some of it most certainly isn't. With regards to numbers, some people are more than happy to disclose their salaries and details of their employment package. Some aren't. That happens in all walks of life and certainly includes rugby players! So we can genuinely come to a relatively reasonable figure of what some players are on and how that might affect a clubs cap. Some of the numbers quoted have been astronomic by comparison with recent years for some of the players in our league.
Poor loser? Perhaps. But the strategy of forcing up a price to either a) get the player or b )failing to get the player, ensure opposition club pays through the nose.. appears to have worked Col.

You and I know that Tonka and barlow are costing a wad..., just as we know Andy Ellis is.

Like I said, I'm much more than just happy at the way things have turned out. If you are then it's tickety boo isn't it?

Mark Cambell has his way of doing things and they have been ok for us. He upped the price you paid for Tonks and Barlow deliberatly and it worked, he told me himself he would get us a very strong squad this year and he has been true to his word, call it unproffesional or whatever you like , he will do for me will Mark

Tonks and Barlow will be costing us a good bob or two; if it turns out that, these contracts are to the detriment of any others signings to build a strong squad, you have to look at the club and coach and question why we have done such a thing. One things for sure, it wont be these 2 that give us the expansive attractive rugby we crave; they can build the platform, but we need halves and creative players to do the rest; Personally I dont think we need them both;

Both good players very good, but with them in your team you still only managed 3rd, will they help you take the next step, im not sure. Would of loved them in our team when we were after them and was gutted we didnt get them. But now im thinking im glad we didnt and ended up with the players we have and there is another big one on the way so the rumours say

The league game at the shay was bigger than the rail cup final it made us league leaders, we didnt choke you did. Likewise the game at the shay last season

Your trying to compete with us when your earning potential is nowhere near. home crowds are similair yet we rake in half that again from secondaries. This season with the new vip units the money we rake in from these secondaries will rise dramatically.
