I'm happy to discuss the process with you privately Greg should you wish. But essentially you are making some wide of the mark assumptions re the Giants and negotiations with Fev/Fax. Tony made his intentions to join the Giants so we moved for Dom and secured his services with the money free'd up by Tonka's departure. The Giants deal stalled for a couple of weeks when Harrison nipped in with an offer, which looked like would be the likely outcome til the giants finalised the deal.
This year he (Tonka) has spoken with mark and daryl and Fev was his preferred option. Many would love to see him back at Fev - but at which players expense?? A decision to stick with our front four who are on fire at the mo left Tonka with good offers from Dews//Fax to consider. He chose Fax.
Tonka is a cracking bloke away from rugby and will give his all. However, he's had precious little rugby this year and will need time to get up to match speed and familiar with his team mates. With only 6 games of the season left Daryl made the decision it wasn't a gamble worth taking at this stage of the season. C'est la vie.
If you want any clarity/validation on any of the above, I suggest you approach Tony himself.



However, I'm quite happy with him getting some match practice and fitness at another club before the end of season merry go round starts in ernest!

Its a good signing if it will be extended beyond this season. If it is short term I don't see the point of it. There is only 6-7 games left and would want to stick with the players that got us here in the first place and give them the chance to finish the season. The team is in transition this year with all the different signings and it is about building longer term rather than short term.

I'm not really into the who's signed for who and in what order (although i am a member of the RL rumour club) what i will say is Tonka is a great signing for you, the guy never gives less than 100%. He's played hardly any rugby this year but he'll still be better than Azue and Gannon.

Jim Gannon is having a great season. I must be honest I haven't always been a fan, but, after buying dvd's of some of Fax's games this year I appreciate what a coach see's in him.
A nice bloke too.

You never know Tonka might like what he see's at Halifax and Fax may like what they see in TT and choose to stay together for a while.

If not i'm sure both parties will manage.

Yes your right, however we tried to get Tonks early season when Gannon had been told he was not part of Karl's plans. Tonk's didn't come so Gannon was given another year. Jim won't be with us next year.
O'h and neither will Tonka.

Have you seen pictures of tiny tiny little babies' hands in the palm of its father? That would be me and Jim in an arm wrestle. The only RL player I could have whooped was Toa Kohe Love but he eventually fell off his sickbed and retired.

Today's Courier or should I say this weeks Courier states that Tonk's thinks we are capable of wining all 3 cops this year and would like to stay next year.
