Personally I don't get this 4 day turn around business and think it's, statistically, not going to effect the outcome of the next game anymore so than a 6 day turnaround. I'm sure Fax have actually won more of these games than not. However, obviously if we are requesting it then the players feel different so that's fair enough.

At the end of the day though, Sheffield have earned Home advantage and their say should go and that's that.

Not really, we picked a date and told Fax, they don't like it, cried to the RFL, hence no announcement yet.

So as I said , ' the plot thickens ' , I was questioning the Eagles over the delay in announcing when and where , your suggestion is that it is Fax that are the problem

Don't be daft as a game like this should be agreed by BOTH clubs as it is only the week or less before the winners will play at Fev or Leigh. Would you be happy if it was the other way around???
But I am sure Mr Aston will do his damnest to make life difficult for us and pass all the blame onto us as always.

Yeah i was thinking that. Didnt we end up playing Sunday because the majority of the games had been on Sundays and it was easier for Haven to travel on Sunday? If thats the case and Sheffield have played most of their games Sunday and want to play at Bramhall Lane then we should accept Sunday. Nobody said it was going to be easy finishing Sixth and lets not forget Eagles are favs for this game so if they want to play it Sunday they are not doing themselves any favours either. Which begs the question is it really us kicking up a fuss or do Sheffield want to play the game earlier as well and this is why its taking a while to sort out.

It would be good if The Eagles came up with their own ground sometime in the near future,so we don't have a repeat performance of all this bickering......I seem to think that this particular game has always been played on a friday since we've had the play offs....correct me if I am wrong...Rugby League is quickly becoming the pantomime of the modern sporting world.....We all want it playing at a certain time to suit ourselves,but the main thing that we want is a good fax performance and a win.
Whoever gets to this match,whenever it is are wherever it is,lets get behind the lads and hope for another win...

Nope we want it at Bramall Lane and the only day they'll let us play there is Sunday.

I agree it is a pain in the ar$e not having our own ground, at the end of the day Sheffield is a football city, two big clubs although they're not exactly at their highest ebb at the moment, then we've got Rotherham squatting as well.

And I guess it must really be strain paying money that goes to the Blades as well.

Yes I hate going to that dump for every home game but they don't actually make much money from it in the grand scheme of things and it's for the best for the Eagles so I tolerate it. Beside the point though.

RFL have been supporting Fridays for the week 2 game for several years, in fairness. Barrow played Sheffield on Friday last year. Can't remember what happened the year before ..........

I have emailed the RFL to find out when it is going to be. The whole season has been all over the place fixture wise due to Sheffields ground issues, I hope they have a permanent home next year where the fixtures can be fair, Play everyone one half of the season and everyone the second half of the season, allowing the natural ebb and flow of consistency to not effect the league tables too much unlike this year.

Aye, I'm not suggestion it's not happened before and obviously there's a rule/precedent which is why Halifax have ask to have it changed (or at least been allowed to put their input in). It's just [iin my humble opinion[/i that the Home team should just decide hence it being a Home 'advantage'.

Halifax have done nothing wrong at all in asking. There's a rule stating you can put a request in just as much as there is you can strip the ball one-on-one and run down the field and score. All part of the game.

The bit that beggars belief is why the hell they would want only a 3 day rest before playing the bissest game of the season for either team and what that would mean lots more money to the club. Totally Bizarre !!!! They have picked and chosen when and where to play this season....Enough is enough !!
