Because the RFL presume their bum chums Widnes would make the final and therefore have less distance to travel. O'Connor and Cyclops would be near home too so Sky wouldn't have to pay as much travel expenses.

Only 4 of the 11 teams are based to the West of the Pennines yet they agree to play the final over that way. Get it back to Headingley where there's decent pubs nearby! Or Hudds where it's walking distance from town centre.

Not the RFL's fault that the suitable grounds are on this side of the Pennines - Headingley is a dump (and also has a game the previous evening), and the atmosphere would be bobbins at a half-empty Huddersfield.

What's the game the previous evening got to do with it? They picked Warrington at the start of the year, RFL weren't to know that Leeds would be home in the play-offs the night before.
