Even some Fev fans agree with me that 'under the system' they aren't, whether I like it or not. Merely pointing it out. Though i see a Fev fan did copy it back to their message board exactly how i said they would and completely missed the point of my post with a couple of your standard 'sour grapes' 'we iz the championz' talk. (Actually it's the letter that's initially quoted on theirs, but given the like-for-like with my post, the reaction would have been the same at a guess...) Again, i have no problem with them/you winning it or either achieving the potentially harder aim this season, just printing outright (i.e not with 'league' etc included) Champions t-shirt is a bit pre-mature in the Rugby League situation. Let's be honest, if Wigan do it this week and sold them....absolute OUTRAGE on the VT would be had by all



P.S I actually am a bit outraged that the letter clearly looks to be mine with slightly different wording and, let's face it, cr@p wording and grammar as you point out Fevxr2i....that's my reputation in shatters

Technically they are not "champions", but we all know they deserve the title.

Can't inmagine there being any arguments about them being the best team this year and its only down to the RFL's turd polishing end of season format that they do not get the title for the far more significant achievement of winning the league rather than a mini cup comp.

Good on 'em, its certainly getting them publicity, particularly with that letter in the LE. Wonder if they wrote it themselves

Shut up Mary, its obvious that a. Its about League Leaders champions and b. Read the interview with the Featherstone coaches and players, they know the deal, its about the play off final.

Hate to say this but when RL was a sport, whoever topped the league were champions and promoted.

No but, as Haighy put, you not think it COULD rile up the other teams thus costing you £50,000 in the final or something as it would spur them on? Granted that's looking at it a bit in black and white, i'm well aware that if Fev don't win the final it's not because of some t-shirts

but i'd like to think you know where i'm coming from ala Calland's 'Country mile' jibes.

On the face of it, it is a bit picky, it's not like the league 'matters' anymore as much as it used as the RFL have sought to that, but i'd personally feel uncomfortable if Halifax did that and if we did (or Wigan did) I would guarentee a heated discussion on a number of forums about it being wrong etc of which Fev fans would be part of prior to this year. I'm sure you can't deny that...

It's nothing to do with Fev taking anyone lightly either, i'm sure your team and fans are as up for it as the rest of us.

I doubt it would be the fuse to fire up our opponents really, i think most fans and players come to that, at this level will know full well the tight ship clubs have to run and will full understand that you have to take any opportunity you can to raise income. We may well not win the GF and as you say if we dont i doubt that will be the reason. Callands comment will of fired the opposition teams up initially but that wasnt the reason you didnt win the GF

Maybe the merch should have read 'League Champions'? As far as getting the RFL involved, why bother?

I might as well give my take on things, to me its like in boxing when someone is called a "champion boxer" it does not tell you what title or what level they are champions at, just that they are a champion. Same with the fev merchandise, no mention of any competition, just that we are champions. You could indeed do the same thing for your 9s success.

Look closely at the merchandise.
It says champions 2010, nothing mentioned about the championship, league, grand final or anything relating to Rugby.
It could be referring to anything whereas if we had put league champions which doesn't exist for topping the league by the way then we would be in trouble.
This is marketing at it's best, selling products for something that doesn't exist but should for winning the league, just like selling Loch Ness Monster T-Shirts really.
