It would also be a really great idea if the club took say five pounds out of every paying adults entry fee to donate to a very worthy cause too. Come on HXRLFC you know it's the right thing.

Didn't some one post it's out of use now, as it needs repairs.

from what i hear every other step needs fixing in the stand as all loose. sounds like cheap workmanship to me.

The South Stand was built at the same time? Why no prolems there?

It was built the year after irc. The north stand was built into the hill rather that being a stand alone structure. Might be why there's a problem.

3 Hull KR and 2 Hull FC travelling down in my car, all supporting Fax, so should be a peaceful journey there and back..

Anyone know in all this if HXRLFC are making a donation from the gate receipts towards the goal target? It dosnt say anywhere in the post on the first page. I should imagine they are though and i bet its not far off the target amount. They need a big pat on the back if they are.

A great gesture by the Halifax club & I hope it's greatly taken advantage of by our SL friends. Obviously the Overgate hospice is a very worthy cause, so let's hope some cash is raised in the process.
I'm just a bit pee'd off that I can't get to the game myself 'cos I'm on 2-10 shift this week and only got back from abroad after a fortnight's holiday yesterday and now can't give a week notice that's required to swap shift or book time off !!!
Sky really do get under my skin sometimes, I think I'll watch the recording with the sound down, 'cos O'Connor & McDermott are rubbish. Last week I watched the Barrow game in a Taverna in Greece and loved it, apart from Laughton's inept display of refereeing, which finally made a game of things.

games always better watched in the sun with a mythos in hand, as opposed to wet weather here for past two weeks or so.

Not cheap workmanship per se, just a quick fix. The North Stand was originally built to accommodate seating but for whatever reason, the plan changed and it was decided to have it as a standing terrace. The design was amended with large concrete blocks that transformed the area required to fit a seat in, into 2 steps.

These blocks are feckin' huge and very heavy so they wont be loose but if you have a look at the terracing in the NS there are some gaps at the back of these blocks that might require a bit of reduction. Apart from that it all looked pretty solid when I was on there a few months back, I'm not an expert but there was nothing obvious and I can't see a few month making that much difference.

Having just watch boots n all when they was advertising the game on sky tomorrow they didnt mention that SL season ticket holders get in for free which they should have done a big own goal SKY

According to tonight's Worrier a further six figure sum is needed to be spent on the ground as "the North and South stands are showing their age" they are 10 years old maximum FFS. In the present financial climate I think the North Stand will be closed for an awfull long time.

The Victorians built underground tunnels to withstand the onslaught of that population's crap and pizz. Over 100 years later and 4 times the population those tunnels still withstand our crap and pizz. We've become a nation of cheap merchants. 50 year old tower blocks being demolished. 10 year old motorways being ripped up and re-laid. We've become the type of spiv nation that we all used to laugh at decades ago.

Where's the best place to park, i've parked down a small lane near the ground before, near a car sales or something if i remember rightly.

there is loads on on street parking around the ground you wont have a problem especially that time of the evening
