i think we're all missing the glaring point - Matt Calland should resign and save Halifax R.L.F.C from further embarrassing defeats.

Either two things should happen.

Overhaul of the playing staff - reduce the playing budget cause we aint going to achieve anything this year.

or

Change of coach. New ideas being brought in - freshen the way they play and the training... Too stale in the attacking moves we are putting on...

By the way - think Hall has done a cracking job attracting the players. The pitch stuff is down to Calland...

So when we were playing well and got to a final, who takes credit for that?

Calland does, and rightly so.

But that does not absolve him from blame for what has happened over the past two weeks.

Problem is we did what we needed to do on the field last year, so i don't think the board will be panicking about results as much as other teams like Leigh and Fev etc. The cost of removing Calland at this time will be too much esp with the loss of revenue we've had this season.

Right where do I start!

Today's match was a disgrace. The players just looked like they're running round like headless chickens with no direction and no moves planned. The amount of times that the first reciever got the ball either standing still or with the rest of the players stood in a flat line at the side of him was unbelievable. No one seemed to know who or what was going to happen. What every happened to five drives and a good kick? I could teach them that I'm damn sure of it.

Penky and Black looked like they'd only just met today as neither had a clue what the other was going to do. It clearly wasn't working so why wasn't Gene dropped into stand-off to boss them up and down the park?

Another point, when we're 3+ tries behind why start doing stupid short kick-offs instead of kicking it long and pinning them back on there own line and look for a mistake? It was obvious we weren't going to win so why not go and do what Leigh did, PLAY SIMPLE RUGBY.

After that dross I certainly won't be taking time out of my Easter holiday to go watch them at Fev. Playing like that, they're going to get destroyed.

I hear Calland has come out and blamed the players today on Radio Leeds, how many more times is he going to blame them? Rubbish mate, it's you. He's got to go. And Mr.Hall as well.

Talk about knee jerk reactions you sack Calland you sack Hall, Gonzalez, Proctor and Ball. Calland has done better than any fax coach for a while now give him till the half way mark and if he's not up to it get rid. Some idiot after the game shouting at the players calling em s**** and saying he won't be paying £18 pounds again to come well I can will be fully glad for him never to turn up again. Alot of players put their hands up to play who werent 100%: Black, Gene, Wrench, Royston, Goddard to name a few. I'll be there at Fev fully backing the team and will back the management until they are sacked.

Big performance from Leigh today, Best team i've seen this season and they will win the league if they play like that every week. Got over the advantage line from basically every play and very rarely allowed our players any time and space. Well Done Leigh.

Next few games crucial for them, at this point its looking like they have taken the team as far as they can.

At the end of the day the same old problems are there from last year- Poor Defence, No back to basics when we are struggling, Rumours of Alcohol before games, Poor attitude and arrogance. Not one of these problems has been properly addressed. Has Calland learned nothing from last year? Thats his job to sort it out. All he has done is bring in a few old men who are on their last legs- Aizue and Gene. It was clear with such a small squad we would struggle some time. But instead of getting a loan /Dual Reg player we are left sticking players in who should not be playing- Gene and Black for example. At the end of the day Calland has took the club as far as he can. Now is the time to go.

The past is the past, thats got nothing to do with the Calland for or against, the cupboard is bare, the team is under performing, end of, full stop....

Wheels coming of at Fax it seems, all that promise in pre season and they have failed to live up to expectations.

The promise is still well and truely there, but it will not be unlocked by the current coach.

You beat a youthful Widnes side mate and only just, were doing it tough at the mo but our home grown youngsters are standing up well. Young Hulme will be in next week, another from his home town.

Fax fans are not taking into account the number of their star players who were missing or the two or three who ideally should not have played because they were clearly not fully fit.

I did post on another thread before the game you might be surprised at the intensity of Leigh's tackling.

You played as well as you were allowed because of that defence. It is early doors when you get all your players back you will still be a threat.

I thought the tactical switch to bring White on to the wing was a masterclass of coaching. so unlucky it didn't pay off in the end.

Nah, its been the same from day one with Matt Calland, he hasnt grasped Championship Rugby or how to coach defence, the only thing that went well today was Cherryholme bringing the kick tee on, think we found a use for him if he knuckles down and works on his running it back,
