Yes, we need Heaton back in for a few games, starting today. Robinson is down the pecking order for me, Johnno should be given a chance at 7 not in one week, fullback the next, sat on his bum the week after, can't help him at all.
Will be interesting to see how the front row goes this week as well, 2 out and Bracek on loan, so opportunities there for players to make their mark.

I think Heaton in the second row is a good shout, he looks more than capable. I am still convinced he isn't a centre due to an inability to pass, so why not give it a go! That way at least we will presumably have Tangata at prop to add some size in the middle. Jonno should be at 7. If Connor is playing, he needs to really step up to the plate today. He was found wanting against the SL sides in last years middle eights, so time to prove he can mix it.

We are due a performance and think we may thrive having no real pressure on today's game. Optimistically, Fax by 6.

Should have won this if a little more composed. Same players coming up with the same mistakes, week in. Week out. Heaton not passing when tries on, Smeaton jumping out of the line, and calamity Sharp with his Worrincyesque handling. Impressed with Miles Greenwood today though.

Widnes were very poor today and there for the taking.

I think you're being a tad harsh there. Fax made them look poor. Agreed that we had a few half-chances in the second half when it was 18-18 that we didn't take, and for some reason we seemed to go into panic mode at times, but you could see the team that finished last season so well fighting to emerge.

Next week is an awesome game. Make some more improvements, and we can beat anyone in this league. We kept going for 80 minutes today - we looked like we'd give it our all at the end (which we had), but there was no capitulation and if we can do the same in our league games then we'll do Ok.

We had them on the ropes. Just needed that composure when them chances came.

Widnes took theirs and won.

In hindsight. A good effort though. We looked the better team at times.

I thought it was a real good game today. We matched them in every aspect of the game bar the play the ball. They were really quick there, although we coped with it quite well. Hopefully no injuries and lets all get to Batley next week and make it a wall of blue and white. Victorian, Squawk Pale 3.7% Mmm! Up the Fax!

Whilst it was the expected result I thought this was a massive improvement on previous performances. Much better intensity and some great individual performances. Team spirit there in buckets and we will need to continue in same style in May's critical fixtures starting next week at Batley. Well done Fax and with Luke Ambler and Gaz Moore to come back that's also a plus.
Get along next week and get the Blue and White army rolling again, like we did last year after Summer Bash game.

I thought it was our best performance of the season by some distance against a quality of opposition that we will not face in this league. A couple of things go our way and we could easily have been talking about a Fax win. The real Fax team stood up today.

Heaton had a brilliant game. 'calamity Sharp'... Why? I thought he was impressive today, always looked solid driving the ball in and got quick play the balls. He made 1 or possibly 2 mistakes however so did many others so to single him out is stupidity.

We just took a full time super league team all the way and served up one of our best performances of the season.

I was trying to be kind with my response, but you've said what I was thinking. Sharp did look a bit, well, not very sharp towards the end of the game, but he did a ton of work and had a great game for me. I did think he was a bit faster though (when he was ripping us apart playing for Fev!). Heaton had a good game, as did pretty much the whole team.

Today's game was two equally matched teams. There was certainly no 'this is a super league side this is a Championship side' comments.
We showed what we can a hive and ha we can play. On radio Leeds RM sAid how disappointed he was with some of the refing especially then patent forward pass that gave Widnes the lead.
I'm proud today of my team and to wear the the blue and white. If we can keep playing like today we are going to be the the top 4. Proud to be a Fax Fan

Today was two teams with different outlook.

Home team, keen to recapture form. A number with other jobs but overall very fit and gave everything. Delivered above my expectation. Top four championship team

Visitors, potential banana skin, keen to recapture form. Players who should have been more fit, but were not. Players with a little more skill and composure that got them home. Bottom four Super League team.

Major disappointments. Referee looked unfit and didn't work as a team with flag men. Attendance poorer than expected as gate shared not really much use to club that would like more income.

Weather was great though.

Why wasn't the new lad given a chance Andrade from Salford. We looked to lack a bit of size for me. What's the point of getting a player for a month only then not to play him

. Apart from lacking size in middle thought we played well and moved widnes big men all over the field with our expansive game.

When signed it was said he was earmarked for the u21s v Hull first but that was postponed.Not sure if he figured in the subsequent u21 game.

He played against Dewsbury last week and scored 2 tries I believe.

Andrade might not have been available as it was a cup game, Salford might have wanted to stop him being cup tied.

I was speaking to his father at the game on Thursday and he said he was cup tied having played for North Wales Crusaders in a cup game. A great prospect let's hope we can keep him.
