Staying away?
When over the last number of years your ground was full how much were you charging for season tickets? How many free tickets were you giving away?
You need to get the balance right, cheap or free tickets gets 10000 £27 gets what 4000
How about a sensible price say £20 then your crowds would go up, bigger crowds equals bigger revenue.
In my humble opinion.

If you buy a ticket in advance, it IS £20 at Odsal and even at the current prices, we're still getting about twice as many people through the gates as you guys are.

Erm...... No it's not if you want to sit. I can't stand for a game. If you want to buy a seat it's £27 AND its the only ground that actually charges junior season ticket holders £5 to have a seat. That said I will still pay it on our next game, because I'm a fan.

| That's why I didn't go to the odsel game (my loss I know). My lad is a junior season ticket holder son when I heard they were charging and extra £5 to sit there was no way I was giving money grabbing Bradford my cash. They screwed up their finances years ago and now try screw us all. I think it's disgusting charging £5 for the kids. Apart from that Odsel is a cr*p ground.

Your missing the point.
=#0000FF"we're still getting about twice as many people through the gates as you guys are"But no where near as many as you did.
I like Spanish bob will go because Rugby League is my hobby but I do understand those who won't, or can't for financial reasons.
=#0000FF"we're still getting about twice as many people through the gates as you guys are"Totally irrelevant.

Aye and Bradford is 3 to 4 times larger than Halifax, but saying that......no I won't go there, the truth hurts and all that. What I will say is that there is no way on this world that I am going to pay your extortionate prices x2 to bankroll the iconic bulls. I think that you have had enough given to you over the last few years.

Again, those prices are if you just turn up on the day. If you buy in advance they're cheaper, plus if you buy them from your club rather than direct from Bradford they get a cut of the money too.

Why on earth would you want to charge people more on the day?
Surely that deters "supporters" who want to wait until the last minute before they decide whether to go.

No, I'll give you that. I think it was £25 to buy a seat in advance, but the still charged £5 for my granddaughter to sit . And the seats were not available from our own club, standing only .

| This whole thread just gave me an idea...
Do you think away crowds could be boosted by the away club taking a cut of travelling fans tickets? e.g. for every ticket to an away game sold in Halifaxs club shop, Fax keep 25%, then vice versa for the return fixture. Would mean travelling fans would feel to be contributing to their own club rather than lining rival clubs pockets. Would also give clubs an incentive to market and advertise away games rather than just home games. (and would give us a little income whilst the pitch is played and we have several away games on the bounce)

Here we go then. If you decided on the day to come to the shay with two season ticket juniors, to have a seat it would cost you £20 in total. If I decided on the day to go to odsal with my two season ticket juniors and wanted to sit, it would cost me £27 for me and £5 for each junior, a total of £37..... There's a big difference, tbh.

Great idea IMO.
also would motivate me to advance buy for those stupid cashless grounds like Leigh/Sheffield.

I thought Leigh was full of cash. They keep spending plenty on players.

I like that idea and it would increase the spending power of the Bulls as at many away games the home support was dwarfed by the away support. With that in mind it would rob those smaller clubs of vital income so probably best not. At Odsal I don't think income projections were reliant on the away support.

As far as I'm aware, this is basically what happens anyway if you buy tickets for away games from your own club

It's to encourage people to buy in advance. Someone who's already bought themselves a ticket is more likely to turn up for the event than someone who leaves off deciding to go until the last minute.

| Well this has given me a good chuckle this morning. Bradford Bulls know they're a Championship club but we have aspirations of retaining our top flight status so will try and sign good players if they're available. Nielsen will have to prove himself but he has the pedigree to be good in our league. I think it was reported that the Bulls have almost tripled their commercial revenue since just over a year ago and this will be helping fund such signings. Good luck in the 8's.
