I've only seen him play at full-back, but he's been described as utility, where else does he play and what does he offer there?

centre or loose forward even but is really a class full back who makes it look effortless

Full Back is definitley his best position, but he still managed to score trys when he was playing loose forward as well. Solid in defence. I would say he is least effective in the Centres.

I hope he does get an SL contract and it doesn't really bother me that it is with the Bulls but I don't think Shad will sign it or want it to be announced in the up coming week as I don't think he'd want it to affect the build-up up him and the team have to the final. Only a theory of course, but Shad comes across as a professional like that..

Shad in my view is one of the best players in the championship and will prove to be a great assest to bradford. He will be better than Michael Withers

If Shad goes to Bradford then good luck to him. He deserves a shot at SL and has been a fantastic servant to Halifax and i have no doubt that he will do well for them. 100 tries in a similar amount of games from mostly fullback is awesome. IMO he has been our best fullback since Kilroy although unfortunately for him it has been at a lower level. The guy is virtually error free in every aspect of his game. Thanks Shad and good luck.

With regards to Halifax finishing second in the league & hitting the GF again, I would have had Shad Royston as a nominee for man of steel this season.

Well done and good luck Shad, really deserve it. We've been lucky to keep him from the SL lot for so long really. 103 tries in 102 appearances, bloomin' impressive.

Now it's out in the open it should allow hime to enjoy his last week/game for Fax, don't think it will spoil the build up it gives more reason to go out on a high.

We've all known in our heart of hearts that the Shadster would be going at the end of the season, whether it was to Tolouse (Union or League) or Wakey or somewhere else, so it's no surprise at all and won't put a dampener on the build up this week. Look at the way Shad celebrated his try on Thurs night. He's definitely going to try and go out with a bang on Sunday week and that can only be a good thing for Fax.

Signing for the Bu**s was a bit of a bombshell, but I am chuffed to bits he'll get his tilt at Soopaleeg wherever it's at. It'll make Friday / Saturday night viewing at least a little bit more interesting as some of the games this year have been dire. Thurs night has been exceptional (in the main) in comparison.
I cant bring myself to wish the Bu**s a good season but really hope the Shadster does.

I feel very positive about this news, mainly due to reaction by the posters on here. He is obviously a fans favourite who have given his all to your club. I just hope he can replicate that form in the SL with us now. Does anyone know if he was still under contract for next year? If he was, we may have a pre season friendly to look forward to, now that would be good!!

Shad has been fantastic for us since the day he signed, He will be a great signing for you. As far as i know, Shad is out of contract at the end of this season.
