It's been a while since the last update because things have been very much the same over the last few weeks with the physio and pool treatment.

Last time I mentioned that Dave was learning how to use the banana board with a view to it helping him to get in and out of bed into a wheelchair and also to get him to be able to access and egress a veichle.

Well on Sunday Dave managed for the first time to do just that and he went out with his parents in a car for the first time since the incident.

He managed a good 2 to 3 hours and an hour in sun before tiredness took it's toll.

Still a long way to go but another milestone reached and all being well he will be out of the hospital for a short while this coming Sunday again with his parents and some friends.

Good to sign off on a positive note and as soon as their is anything to report I will let you all know.

Thanks for the update. If he continues to make good progress like this then hopefully it won't be long until he might make a match. I think all supporters look forward to that day.

Next year I'd like to run the London Marathon for Dave to raise money but im not sure how this works as I'd need a place and im not forced to get accepted into the ballot for a free running spot. I did it last week for the charity whizz kids and raised over 3k and next year want to do it for something closer to home cause wise. Anyone hep on this?

Waddy, its basically as you have said. If you get a ballot place you can run for who you want, however if you dont you are likely to be expected to raise at least 2k for a charity if you get a gold bond place. The only advantage is that if you raise more than the requested amount you could give the rest to a charity of your choice. If you were going to raise the extra for Dave then obviously you would have to speak with him or his family to gain consent and then perhaps set up an official fund raising package with their backing and blessing.

says on the town forum that Dave will be at sundays game with Sheffield.Hope thats true.

I hope this is true and the players buck up there ideas by thinking of what Dave has been through.

As a Fev fan i have been watching the posts on here and this is great news for every true fan of any club and all the people that Dave knows including friend s and family. If you read this Dave well come back to RL keep up the hard work that you must be doingand hope you make a full recovery and start supporting your club again.

Yes it certainly was good to see Dave there and making the half time draw, his parents also and the club looked after then all.

Great to see Dave at half time, and what a fantastic ovation he got. I must admit it was Quite emotional to be stood next to him at the time. Even the lady who won the golden gamble said the money was great to win, but felt twice as good because it was Dave who pulled her number out.

Was great to meet Dave and his family yesterday. What a nice bloke he is. Had a good chat with him before the game and also with his parents and his friend who I think is called John. The Fax players were chuffed to bits that he came to the game and Dave looked really happy when Ben Black spent time with him during the pre match hospitality. The crowd were fantastic and when the chant went up "There's only one Dave Singer" it was unbelievable. I hope that the day has given Dave a big boost and I hope that he can get down to a few more games over the coming months as it will be great to see him again.
