You take 500 fans to away games, but still need a raffle to attract a home crowd? Every club in this League would like more fans, Im just surprised at how much attention Sheffield's crowds get over supposedly more established clubs. You wont meet a single Eagles fan who doesnt think we need more supporters but at least the club are trying to build a future support and structure that doesnt mean begging buckets will come out at some point.

Is this a fact? i would like to know where you get that from, at the game sunday looking around IMO i thought there was a few more than the announced attendance maybe because it was on a sunday maybe the groupons maybe both. I agree with brummie eagle that all eagles fans would like to see more bums on seats as would all clubs in this league including yourselves

Well at least they are having a bash, I have said for a long time it would make more sense to have the option of choosing a free childs season ticket when buying an adult one instead of the free diners meal they give out. It`s all right having a few extra diners a week for the Club and if you want to choose that fair enough but myself I`d prefer more spaces on the terraces being filled . Our crowds are not increasing in fact they look to be geting worse ,although as I am not a stats person I could be wrong there.
It`s a good job the Directors have thought up the New York gimmick to try to keep the interest going as nearly a couple of months off having a home game where people may have settled into a new routine could hit our club hard. Then no sooner are we back then we are hiting the holiday season , so something needed doing .

I'm sorry here JFFC but Halifax have already done this and gone in schools and given out free junior season tickets to kids, I know as my little lad has got one, I would have thought that you would be only too aware of this. So to clarify, there is the free meal with the season ticket and also Kids can get free junior season tickets so what are you going on about ?. The new york Gimmick is another way of trying to increase attendances and i applaud them for that.

If there is no free season tickets for Juniors next year then i will purchase one along with the other 2 i get as now my little lad has the taste for it and the attention span to keep him entertained for a few hours on the terraces.

Yes I am more than well aware of the fact the kids are geting free season tickets through schools but I still think that a childs season ticket could be offered as an incentive when buying an adult one instead of the meal deal if people so wish to take it up ( what is wrong with people having a choice?).As with the best will in the world they cannot get to every child in Calderdale much as they would like, I know they have not as yet been to the school I am connected with yet (before you start, I am not complaining as there is probably an excelant reason why , I am stating a fact )
I also applaude the Directors for the New York gimmick ,it`s an excelant idea as I say in my origional post , my concern is how on earth do we get more people to come down to the matches I`m not having a go at anybody . Surely it`s what we all want isn`t it , the Directors are rightly puting initiatives in place to try to boost crowd numbers not just for now but for the future of our club ,I merely pointed out an idea that might help with that.I eagerly await any ideas you may have on ways of increasing crowd numbers for a club who have ambitions as ours have .
Oh and just for the record , I have no interest whatsoever in how many speccies there are at any other grounds I just couldn`t give a hoot I`m only interested in our clubs crowds and ways we might increase them at home .We need to give our Directors as much help as we can and try to get more people to come along.

Choice is fine but IMHO its a stupid one, Season ticket with free Meal and after match entertainment worth £50 or a junior Season ticket that you can get for free anyway. From a marketing and business point of view, even promoting something that is free anyway as a perk of buying a season ticket is ludicrous and would be ridiculed.

Can you not just contact the club and say i would like a Cool Katx Club junior season ticket for my son/daughter as you havnt been to my school yet and i cant see any problem whatsoever and i bet they would activly encourage this if it leads to increase attendances. Bear in mind that adults need to accompany them and pay in ( unless already a ST holder).

On the point of increasing attendances, I am afraid the trend accross the whole Championship is a downward spiral and clubs rally are suffering, the only way this will change no matter what incentives are introduced is to have a clear pathway back into superleague, and this club needs to get there fast before its too late, the BOD and directors will only dig deep for so long and the void seems to be getting bigger. We have one of the best squads we have had in years and were doing fantastic before the NRC and CC exit, yet still attendances were stagnant at best. We need to be showcased on Skysports for weekly matches etc instead of premier sports, which no pubs etc show anyway and no potential fans are going to sign up to see, from this we can get media attention and kids involved who actually see a presence of these players.

This will only happen with SL.

Walking around halifax with a shotgun and hearding people to the shay is the only other way i see attendances growing, It is a worry but it is what it is.

I know because it is allowable by the RFL even encouraged and some clubs in football do it like Arsenal. Yer that game may have had over 1K there not disputing that but no way do you get around the same crowd when you play us and Fev as you do against say York, come on!

Yer but the thing is this is the 'Holy Grail' for fans and the RFL as people look at crowds as a barometer of how good a club is, its in the SL Franchise system and it makes one club look better than another such as Fev, do they really get 2K plus at every game now???

Every week i have a go at guessing the attendance at FEV games, usually if it's a league game (no shared gate) i'm down by a 1000. If it's a cup game (shared gate) i'm up by a thousand. Funny that innit. Oh n i agree with a previous poster. Sheff to win the lot. (shut up Griff before you start).
