Could hardly hear what was going on on the Mixrl thing but from what bits did come through Fax were poor with the ball and coughed up too much possession and Leigh were stronger, faster and much the better side.

Fev are firmly back in the mix with a thumping win over Batley today so we will have to be back to our best for next week, not only for the points but if we lose RFF will be all over us like a rash

The first [iFax Try/No Try[/i was a dead cert [iknock on[/i.
Don't remember who [i'Scored' it[/i but whoever it was he grounded 1/2 yard short but in the bounce & 2nd reach knocked on in front of the North Stand, this was directly in line with my position 2/3 the way back in North Stand & was as clear as day.

Regardless of that I thought Leigh 'almost totally' dominated today, apart from having a little [isleepy time[/i where a soft try was conceded & a few lazy sleepy tackle efforts crept in.

I thought during your good spell, when you got some quick PTB & ran better lines you looked good/decent but not top 3 material.

The margin of victory today was the same as Bradford v 'Haven *who let's be honest are a bit poop*, so Fax will need to fix up & step up quick to ensure your top 4 finish.

Yes I struggled to hear what was going on, switched over to the Leigh offering, we lost on that as well.



Can we cough up as much ball again next week? If we do we'll get what we deserve, we need to play at the top of our otherwise there will be no room for complaint.

Oh dear we got well and truly tonked today, we were outplayed and looked a long way behind Leigh who were quicker, sharper and a really good team they need to keep that level of performance when they get in the middle eights to have any chance of getting into SL, only trouble is they will not get as much ball given to them as we did today by SL teams we gave Leigh far too much cheap ball, knock ons, silly passes and just poor play.
Some players were poor today no names mentioned and I am a bit alarmed at once again being bossed in the middle, whether we get in the top 4 or not we need to BEEF UP OUR PACK next season.
We need to improve next week as top 4 is still in our hands but Fev had a great win today so it will be tough.

Blimey some of our fans must have blind faith as nobody I knew thought we would win today, most like me thought we would lose but not like we did we did not do ourselves justice today although Leigh were very good and too quick for us.

Just seen on Facebook that Richard Moores partner has just given birth. Might explain why he didn't play yesterday.

You cant blame some of the Leigh fans acting like cocks on here really. They must have been really smarting from the hammering we gave them in the 8's so to get one over on us like they did yesterday they must be cock a hoop. Best just to let them enjoy the moment and then see how we go if we make the 8's and then look to catch them up a bit next season.

My comments would echo much of what's been said.
- Fax can rise to play well for the odd game or two, but can't put the performances in week on week on week
- this is no surprise with the squad of players we have who are all limited in ability at the top level but have big hearts, so can- like lots of underdogs- put in the odd special performance.
- full time squads clearly have the long term edge, if they are managed and coached well. The pace of the game yesterday killed us.
- Leigh once again have a squad that could do well in middle eights with some luck - especially if they can play like that every week.

Fax appear to have found a natural level, 15th to 17th best league team, so question now is how does the club become one of the 11th-14th best clubs. We need to develop a Stratergy for this and our BOD need to explain to fans what it is. Otherwise it will be back to shuffling our squad with other championship squads players, in the hope of comming fourth again.

That's better than failure, but can someone at the Club please explain where it's trying to go over the next few years and how it is going to get there. The BOD appear silent and there also looks like no real off field leadership.

I think we need to put yesterday into perspective a bit. Yes we were poor and gifted Leigh possession and territory. But even without that I think they would have beaten us comfortably. Leigh were on fire yesterday and I don’t think anyone would have lived with them on that performance. But with the squad and calibre of payers they have this shouldn’t be surprising; let’s be honest they have a number of players who shouldn’t be earning the easy money in this league, Mickey Higham and Corey Patterson in a particular. Patterson was class and tore us apart.

If they play at that level in the middle 8’s I think they have a real good chance of making it this time, although the down side for them is that the quality of the SL teams could also be better this time.

Agree with this.Finishing in top 4 this season then adding a couple of players for next year and staying part-time is not the answer.

I had a good chat with 4 Fax fans who all expected Fax to win yesterday,and ALL of them post on this Forum.

Im not cock a hoop, as I expected to win yesterday, I'm happy though as we apparently beat the BEST pack in this League containing the BEST player in this League,that is what some Fax fans say,didn't really see much of Tangata,he was in Gareth Hock's back pocket most of the game.

I will put this down to blind faith and loyalty otherwise it must be that they have a lack of knowledge as Leigh have lost one league game all season, not lost a home league game since 2013 and wanted to wrap up the league leaders shield so no way we would have won yesterday that was just daft!

I expected to win too.Thought a combination of how good we had become and the fact that Leigh may have one eye on the 8s would be a factor.Sadly neither was true.

I was one of the 4 and I went with the expectation of us winning. We've been playing well and they haven't hit their straps over the last few weeks. They only just beat the Bulls. Unfortunately we played the worst we have for a long time and they were on fire!

Dave , the Fax fans I spoke to are all very knowledgable in terms of Rugby,your reasoning for expecting a Fax victory were spot on ,we DID only just beat the Bulls the week before , and we're not playing that we'll, which is why even I expected a tougher game.Sometimes a team does play like we did , I remember only around 3 or 4 years ago turning up at the Shay and Fax put about 60 points on us, I left the Shay with a coat over my head, these things happen.
When we next play each other I fully expect a different Fax and a much closer harder game,I felt the Fax forwards never threatened the Leigh line,and Murrell and Moore didn't create much either.I do look forward to seeing you again, as you do have an unbiased opinion,and are not frightened to say what you see,good luck on Sunday ,should be a cracker of a game.

Leigh should have won the game for so many reasons.
Massive playing budget.
A team that is not only full time but with players who have been full time for years along with quality players who they have retained from the previous part time era.

Where they deserve credit is they have had no end of disruption this year with the well documented coaching and playing staff coming and going and a large number of injuries etc and yet coming out the other end stronger as a team on and of the park more so now than when the season started.

Fax should and did start yesterdays game as underdogs, the biggest disappointment was that underdogs are expected to go out and make a fight of it and come out with some credit but it's hard to say we even ticked that box yesterday.

The top 4 is still there to play for and it's still in our hands with 2 home fixtures and lets hope that some good can still come out with yesterdays game as a kick up the booty.

I thought we'd win yesterday but it turned out to be far from it. The only good things to be had from a bad day were meeting up with some lads off here, Bentleyman, Charlie, Frank and Ian C for the first time. Johnston played really well and I thought a great show from the Fax fans. The team owe it not only to themselves but to the fans to make amends next week. These things happen though, its not long ago we put 60 up Leigh, and we have to get back on't hoss and go again next Sunday. I can't wait for it. Up The Fax.

Pete I have mentioned on another thread the day Fax put 60 on us it's not that long since,as you say there are 2 very important games left , both should be very close ,Fax fans were very vocal yesterday,well done for helping provide the atmosphere.
