you could all go sit in the skircoat stand as im sure alot of the fax fans will be sitting in the new stand as we have waited 10 years for it

They can open the North, its just logistics, We go down this road every year.
South Stand is 3211, North 1020, Skircoat 2330, East 3500 (Figures from Shaymen Website)
I think the North Stand problem is facilities, toilets etc, refreshments. Im sure because it doesnt have the tunnel exits, if its provided with adequate ameneties it can hold more than the south Stand, 3500 if im not mistaken.
Not sure why part of the south Stand is cordoned off, H&S probably or maybe they dont want people sneaking into the East Stand, maybe its just been left since there was a building site and away players running on, i dont know, seems silly though.
Maybe its a test for EMC, can they provide beer and burgers to Leythers at the other end of the ground


One other thing to consider is, how many stewards will be required in the East Stand, i would imagine it could test our stewarding resources to the max, and im not sure if enough will have been inducted, theres only so many care in the community about too

south stand end was taped off after an incident at a town game when there was nearly a scuffle between fans and players who had to walk past there to the temporary changing rooms.now new changing rooms are ready it should be removed ?

i have it on good authority that the North Stand will be shut for the forseable future

As for the taped off area, indeed it was an incident at a footy game and was cordened off as thats where the away players went after the game, i presume it will now be removed.

Better get editing that franchise application then

rest of ground holds over 9000 so can see north only open when really needed.

Depends on whether the HBOS car park is open, (Hunger Hill). They were charging £2 when it was open, and it's secure. You'll be best contacting the club about that. There is also the B&M car park, not sure of the price, bottom side of the Shay. Not heard good things about it, tbh. There's Huddersfield Rd., or plenty of parking spaces in the town centre - only 5 mins walk to the ground.

There was some bother at one game last season or the one before, that's why I mentioned it. There was a chav element, but I believe they are gone.

Why is the North Stand not going to be used?
They expecting us and Leigh/Widnes fans to all be in the South Stand less those who sit in the East Stand?
I was hoping that the games against teams who will bring 500 or more would be put in the North Stand its better for both sets of fans.

It would appear to me that a lot is riding on how many people move to the East Stand. To me, I imagine most 'movers' would be from the Skircoat with not many from the South, surely?

Dare say Sunday will be a trial run for such a situation and will be used when deciding what happens when you play Widnes. Not much good for us, though

Whilst preferably to me the north stand is opened so i don't get my usual place taken, i don't get why Leigh and Widnes fans expect it to be? they dont open more than 2 stands for their games. and anyone standing at LSV last year were all in one stand. Why should we do anything different?

True mate, nowt against you lads but for our own players it is better we have our fans all in the South Stand and not 'diluted' by away support plus there is always the chance of the odd small incident from one set of fans against the other, rare but has happened sadly.
I think it will be cramped in the South Stand with all of us in who want to stand.

I can't imagine many will move from the South stand to the new East stand to be honest, those in the South now obviously prefer to stand, and now we know the beers cheaper too! Think the South is going to be pretty busy Sunday!

It will be interesting to see how many use the new stand, it's quite expensive to attract a huge amount of walk up supporters, I wonder how many s/t holders there are for that stand, and how many Skircoat stand regulars will choose to use that stand at an extra cost

Widnes always open a stand for us and we do the same, a couple of hundred aint a problem but when you start getting 500+ it could be.

Not only should you be opening the north stand , fax should be providing free coach travel to the Shay

As for why ? , Why not , how much better would it be with a 1,000 away fans in the other end , helping to produce atmosphere like we all crave , you know , like they have and you used to have in SL

Do we know for certain how many coaches Leigh are bringing? Surely that would give the club enough of an indication as to whether the North stand would beworth opening?

LISA are running two coaches and I know of at least two minibuses.

That said, we took 500 to Keighley with only one minibus and one coach - must have been eight to each seat

They said there are 3 available Matt if we fill the 2 up, and lots going in cars i believe.
